If The Order was called Resident Evil 1886 or something, it would've got good reviews as well
LOL I guess you never saw the RE6 reviews

Yeah because critics have totally never panned a Resident Evil game before. If The Order was called Resident Evil 1886 or something, it would've got good reviews as well

Reviewers pan The Order but give this good reviews?

Yeah, I think I'm officially done with reviews. If there's a game I wanna play I'm just gonna play it and forget this crap. I want to play both Revelations 2 and The Order, so it's all good.
You need to give DC where credit is due

Something tells me Capcom forked over cash to get such high reviews, I have no faith in these guys.
I should play Dino Crisis one of these days....
Everything I've seen about Revelations 2 makes it look like an RE6 incarnate and that's just enough to have me thinking about passing; and I've been an RE fan since day one and double-dipped many times on past games (other than 6). The series has lost its way. A shame since the first Revelations was a real return to form, IMHO.Resident Evil 6 got wrecked by reviews and I enjoyed it so whatever. Not expecting much from this so I won't be disappointed.
This and the Order are two different games, two completely different beast. One a AAA 60 dollar game, the other a 25 dollar budget game. Why are people comparing the two?
Both are out of stock. That was fast. That's the Complete Pack versus the Complete Season.

Huh, did Capcom actually make a good RE this time? I'll keep my expectations low after the abomination that was Revelations/6. Something tells me Capcom forked over cash to get such high reviews, I have no faith in these guys.
the staggered release is really off putting to me
I'm surprised that this game is getting decent-to-great reviews. So being a RE fan I played REV2 for an hour and it's exactly what I expected. The environments are bland and there is almost no atmosphere, it looks like HD remastered version of a PS2 game, it's like they copied/pasted the mechanics of the modern RE's with no real thought into the layout. Something just feels off about this game imo.
I'm actually a little disappointed that this game is getting great reviews...... I have a feeling there won't be any incentive for Capcom to do a remake of RE2 with high production values when they can just copy/paste the same old RE4 mechanics into bland, tasteless environments with no art direction and package the game using an outdated PS2-era engine. If fans eat up anything they throw why put in the extra effort? We all know Capcom these days.... RIP Resident Evil
The Order 1886 got 4-6/10 from the same sites that are giving this game 8/10s.... that makes no sense to me at all.

So Revelations 2 seems to be better than 6?![]()
Not even close.

Gameplay wise it's not as good, but the atmosphere and music are sure going a long ways toward making me like this one more personally overall. It ticks off a few more boxes for me than RE6 did, despite me enjoying that one and not being one of its dissenters.
Unless you're just referring to quality for some reason, the games look nothing alike, even visually. I'm not seeing how the first, immediate comparison isn't just Rev1.

How long is the first episode anyway?
I got the sense in the past that many assumed this game would be terrible... and now I see that some people are surprised by decent reviews.
Why is this???
This is also the cheapest Resident Evil at launch right? I think most people will get plenty of bang for their buck if there into the whole length/extras/unlocks.
The only issue I have is that godawful blood filter that happens whenever you get injured...
it's the worst I've ever seen of those godawful red shit filters ever.
There seems to be a lot of replay value and content; then again the same could be said for Ground Zeroes, but people seemingly just ran through that one mission as fast as they could and delightfully ignored everything else it had to offer.
If anything RER2 has a solid, competent campaign with a story, and has extras to boot. It's easier for players to see the value in this game versus in MGS GZ you sort of had to discover it moreso, if you ask me.
Ground Zeroes had a story and quite a lot of information. It's all there. It's just that not too many people apparently gave enough of a shit to actually discover any of it. I get what you're saying, but GZ could keep you occupied for more than 10 hours if you gave it the time of day. There was a lot of replay value there and in typical MGS fashion one of the highlights was actually learning the environment, enemy AI, and so on. I don't want to turn this into a GZ discussion, I just hate it when developers give players a lot of content and they ignore it and claim that it's too short or not worth the money, when in fact there's plenty to do.
I hear ya though, also it was the pricing. That's why I think the 24.99 for RER2 is a perfect entry price![]()
People didn't like Resident Evil 6/Revelations 1, or thought as it wasn't a graphical looker it couldn't possibly be good. To be fair, some of Capcom's showings of the game weren't the best, I initially wasn't very interested in it, but it grew on me over time.

This post couldn't be any more ridiculous. I don't know why but The Order seems to have made a good part of gaf lose their fucking minds.
