You mean Larry Wilmore? Anyway thanks for posting I would have completely forgot about it otherwise. What's the BCT's take on him anyway? I don't regularly watch late night shows so I don't have much of an opinion but from what I've seen he has a penchant for finding the craziest black conservatives to guest on his show

Yes, double standard out the ass.

The IR relationships in Scandal never bothered me. I use to be mad that she made the President white specifically because the President is black. Then I realized some time later that Shonda did the right thing making him white. If they would have made him black, the level of fuckery that would be said about all black men, that black men lust after white women, that Obama is fucking a white woman, etc would have been crazy. A white President can have an affair with other women and it's okay because white male exerting his dominance blah blah. A black president cheating? Nah. Goes back to the gotta be twice as good to get 1/2 the respect.

partly but i don't think it's just that. the only brother on the show liv ever dated was a cornball of the highest order and she wasn't really fuckin w/ him that hard. and then her pops clipped ol boy's wings anyway so he was never going to win in the end.

i think the show needs to introduce a new love interest for her altogether really. somebody that's not a cornball like the black dude or simps like the 2 white dudes. her pops is right. she could stand to do a lot better.
 
The thing that bothers me about interracial relationships on television is that they tend to be a white male + WoC combo more often then not. There are diffident levels of acceptability for IR in media in general. Like relationships involving two different PoC's are seemly almost not existent because of the weird idea that IR must always include one white partner.

Yea the representation on TV isn't at all reflective of IR relationships in reality. TV would have you thinking that black women are the most desirable female in the US.
