2014 NBA |OT| Let's just wait it out. Be NKY/LAL fans and lose our games together.

Goran is the truth. I hope he'll settle fully into his role by the end of the season, so next year Bosh can just drop in as another shooter. PEACE.

He just speeds up the game so much for us so yea i hope he settles in well. I wonder if Deng is playing better because of this pace. He looks great as of late also.

all this drama tho, damn you Wade lol

edit: damn, ofcourse their 3rd string center would have a career night. hah

The officials were so bad in that game. That was really horrible, I haven't seen officiating that bad in years. Asik committed so many fouls and I am so salty about it, lol.

Oh well, we will still make the playoffs and our future is so much brighter than the Pelicans.

Raptors lose bad, and the Knicks snap their losing streak thanks to former #1 pick Andrea Bargnani scoring 25 points with 12 rebounds. Can it get any worse for a Raps fan.

Chicago won, but good thing the Wiz, and Cavs lost as well. Raps got somewhat of a break.

Think I'd take Lillard over Westbrook if I was forming a team (Warriors fan here so don't really care either way). Similar intensity, better shooter, less turnover prone, better team player.

Wiz aren't a threat anymore. The Bucks passed them in the standings tonight.

Sooo Isaiah is really good, and he's the exact player this team has needed since Pierce left. Watch out for this Celtics team.

Whose the better defender? That's who you pick.

Both are adequate but not great. Point guards tend to be harder to evaluate because they can always be beat by the opposite point guard on a pick and roll. Points from a point guard are the result of the defense behind the pick and roll much more than who is guarding them at the start of the play. Steals are only meaningful if they are playing quality defense (staying home on their responsibility) as anyone can overplay the passing lanes and just hope their mark doesn't get an open shot because they were out of position.

For all this slobbering over Westbrook, Lillard has had the better game so far. About par for the course. FFS, the media couldn't stop talking about his triple double last night when he was 12 for 38. That is beyond awful.

Who cares? They've always slobbered over them, and really he's held the team back in a lot of ways. It's the same way the media pumped up Rondo to superstar level somehow... now look at him.

Yeah. If, theoretically, they swapped westbrook for lillard they'd probably by much more successful. Not many see that. Instead we get "ZOMG THE ATHLETICISM UNPARALLELED IN NBA HISTORY HE MUST BE BEST".

The NBA is a hype machine, they hype Lillard up pretty hard too.

Not nearly the westbrook levels though. His stats will look good just because he is good and has the ball in his hands on every single possession. Everything is drive and shoot or drive, kick and shoot. That is where the play ends so it is either points or an assist on most possessions.

There is a reason teams don't send 2-3 people at him every time like they do with Curry. He plays low percentage but high stat basketball.

These OKC games have been fuckin' crazy.

Westbrook definitely gets overhyped sometimes because of big stats. Dude was like 12 for 39 against Phoenix last night. He's damn good don't get me wrong, but I've seen media guys saying "HE'S THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE" this week.

Wow WB ultimate stat player. He didn't even try to miss the free throw he should have been trying to miss. What a moron.

I hope KD leaves OKC because he will never win a ring as long as Westbrook is there. Or at least get a coach that will actually coach.
While I'm not in disagreement about Brooks, it's kind of hard say he won't ever get a ring in OKC - they've gone to the last 3 conference finals and gotten a Finals trip in there too. And that's with Scott Brooks' iso ball offense. KD has one of the league's best defensive bigs who can stretch Ds out to the 3 point line and he has another ridiculous stud at point guard (Like have you SEEN Westbrook's February stats? WOW! Who cares if he hasn't been ultra efficient in all of them... That's an MVP month). There's no reason to leave.

What... I just... but...

His +/- was the second worst on the team at -12. Maybe play the bench more?

Ohhhhh, hahaha, you were just joking. Whew.

For the record, Lillard is one of the worst defenders at the PG position in the league.

I won't lie and say that the team will be any better than its finals team but I just don't see them winning any time soon because I can totally see Westbrook shooting them out the game if they ever get behind in a playoff game. I like Westbrook and Durant. But them two together? I just don't see it any more.

Damn, I've never seen anything like that Westbook injury. Hopefully he's alright.

On an unrelated note, the Wolves finally posted up a better video of that shirtless man dancing I posted about a couple days ago on KG's return. It's not exactly what I was hoping for, but it's a good enough video that shows how energized the crowd got, haha.

Great argument. Especially like the part where his +/- for the game is irrelevant. Well done. 9/10.

I've been coming to NBA gaf threads for 10+ years. I know when it's pointless to argue with someone's absurd position, especially when they present zero support for their position. Lillard is a solid player, but he's not on Westbrook's level in pretty much every way. And I say that as someone who has railed on Westbrook's game (at least, his decision making) since he came into the league.

Go read ESPN's article on how Westbrook is having one of the best offensive years in the history of the NBA, and then come back and tell me you'd rather have Lillard.

And it's silly to use +/- like that. Let's look at the Cavs last loss in which LBJ played. LBJ had a -27 +/-. Shawn Marion had a -3. Do you think the Cavs would have done better with Marion in the game instead of LBJ? It's just drastically over-simplistic to use +/- this way.

Nope..he was but not this season. Still not 'great' but he is not bad at all. Maybe you haven't watched him play that much this season

Portland hides his defense well but he's still pretty bad.

RIP to Anthony Mason. Passed away at the age of 48 today.

A Knicks spokesperson confirmed to ESPN that Mason died early Saturday morning. The 13-year NBA veteran had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this month.

"First I want to thank all those who offered prayers and well-wishes for my Father, our family really appreciates it," his son, Anthony Mason Jr., said Saturday. "Overnight, New York City and the world lost a legend, a friend, a brother ... but more than anything our father, Anthony Mason. As you all would expect our father -- Big Mase -- put up an incredible fight, dealing with a severe heart issue. I'm wishing this was something else I was writing, but Pops we've got to let you know we love you and know you'll always be with us."

Mason's other son Antoine, a senior basketball player at Auburn, had said earlier this week that his father was "getting better" following multiple heart surgeries.

Mason's family released a statement Saturday morning, saying that he "fought like a warrior to the very end."

"We would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt thoughts and strong prayers," the statement said. "Anthony felt each and every one. He fought like a warrior to the very end. Please keep your prayers and thoughts with us through this very hard time -- it is a great loss for us. We ask for our privacy during this time."

New Jersey came in the mail yesterday. Am quite pleased :D
