So there's no need to worry about that. The nice thing about a LINE alert (as opposed to a post on GAF) is that is dings your phone so that you'll know immediately rather than when you next check the GAF Amiibo thread.

Tsum tsum in Japanese is stack stack or something. So the objective is to stack them. There's a mobile app game designed for line based on it

Cool. As long as it stays that way and people on here aren't being alerted late it is fine with me. I signed up for Line but like I said my phone plan has a small amount of data so I have it turned on to "No Data Usage" and only get alerts from home (WiFi) so I miss out most of the time (unless it is on the forums and I refresh and catch something.) Glad it works for others. Maybe one day I will be at the right place at the right time.

Sounds like a safety net kind of deal

Come on man. He is just expressing his opinion. He doesn't want to miss out and things like private groups can make people feel this way. (Not saying there shouldn't be one but his concern is understandable)

My difference is that I don't feel entitled (not saying that he does either but it may come across that way) or that someone owes me the info. I would rather it get posted on here 1st but it isn't up to me and people are better at catching these things than me. They can share the info however they choose whether I like it or not.
 
We originally thought the limit was 100, but I looked into it and found the limit to be 200. So it's not like it was ever some super exclusive club, we just have a vetting process for making sure people like "that person" don't end up there whose only intent is to exploit the info for heavy scalping needs. Avoiding that at ALL costs.
 
Downloaded LINE (I can use it on my works wifi so no issues there and I never even hit half on my data so yay) But Google Play Store is funny-they put all the one star reviews on the top of the list. Whoops XD

I'll mess around with this after my lunch break since I need to get some small things done in the next 15 minutes or so. Amiibogaf dont blow up on me while I'm gone D:

EDIT: What I really disliked while I was "in limbo" for gaf was how lurkers were blanket considered scalpers and getting locked out of information via the email tag sucked, so I had to go multiple sites to find information. People like "he who must not be named" has ways of bypassing any sort of shutting out tactics so I'd just let him be honestly. I trolled him enough times on Youtube to get my jollies XD

This was never made public on GAF from what I can tell. I had asked three times to join LINE iirc, was able to get in on the third. The other two I was told there was a cap limit of 100.

edit: feel like I need to comment on each and every post now to say I am not being critical, just factual.
 
People are taking LINE and the stuff related to it way too seriously. Chill out. It's just another avenue of making sure people get information that's likely available a bunch of other places within moments of it going live. It's also a bunch of guys hanging out, telling jokes and having fun. That's all.

I just finally stopped being lazy and joined today. It's not hard, just ask. It's quite nice to have the conversation at work, really.

It was all over the thread when I was asking around for the Google Hangouts. I updated an ever expanding list of users for all to see, too. When Hangouts failed, CH4OS got us all on Line and mentioned it here on the thread. We were actively looking for more people to join!

I had stopped following Amiibogaf religiously for a bit due to me trying to move out of my current place and just found out about it today haha (coincidentally it was also the day I finally got accepted go figure).

Can't be too chatty at work otherwise they'll be breathing down my neck,but checking updates every so often if it pings something important cant hurt. Is it designed to give a different alert or "priority alert" rather than, idk, regular chat alerts?

EDIT: Horizon right in my feelers lol.

Guys, you're calling a chat group where we took 100% of the stupid humor from the thread "elitist". We literally just talk about random stuff and post stickers.
I'm very sorry if you feel excluded or if you feel the thread suffers as a result of LINE. That wasn't our intention when we started the group.

We made the LINE group because people were tired of non-amiibo news/general silliness cluttering the thread. The purpose of LINE is for quick updates and removing that clutter. We've stated multiple times that anyone can join as long as they're kind, friendly, and not a scalper. We're not trying to be a secret perfect group that steals deals--in fact, a LOT of us MISS OUT on stuff like Gold Mario even when it's posted because it's just GONE in SECONDS. You can thank CAG and SlickDeals for that.

We're in no way exclusive or fracturing the community. Yes, Canada and UK split off to do their own thing, but that doesn't exclude them from joining us.
I've been exceeding patient about the matter, so much like Namagem I'll say this again: PM either Gem or I if you'd like to join the LINE group. We would love to have more friendly, active individuals in chat!

In other news, I really hope that certificate is for something special, but it'll probably be Bronze Mario as a Taco Bell exclusive. :P

It's Smash related. The item number and manufacturing matches the Smash figures. Thought it might be silver Mario at first, but doubtful given Gold and regular Mario were made in the same place.

Would a reprint of Marth get a completely new entry? Not sure of how the laws work on reprints.

I honestly don't care, it just sucks to see the community split so many ways. I have 29/29 NIB NA Mint, 2 Gold Marios pre-ordered with Wal Mart USA and Wave 4 pre-ordered with Amazon UK as back up.

I am in no need for info or feel I am being shorthanded.

What I do care about now is how you responded to my post which was nothing but my opinion and feelings.

Are "newly cleared" members allowed to join LINE? :3 ((Been "registered" for a while but obviously didn't get my permissions changed until today)) I've set up my LINE the same name as my Gaf account so there's less confusion :3

It wasn't the LINE group that makes you seem elitist, it's the snarky remarks, the condescending gifs (like the one I quoted) and the blind defense of your people in your circle like the Azula crap, and the vitriol spewed at anyone who questioned it. I know how helpful you are. I know how much you've helped this community. I'm not questioning that. I just think we could all be kinder to people who may not be in our inner circle.

Now does Byron complain too much and is overly sensitive sometimes, maybe, but to dismiss him like that like he hasn't contributed to the thread or the community makes it seem like you think you're better or more important.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic there. I'll back to waiting for wave.

How long were Best Buy preorders up for Wave 2 and 3? I missed them, and went with Gamestop which seemed to have them up for quite some time. Want to get in on Best Buy since I have GCU.

The point here is the complaining isn't helping. You don't like something, come up with a solution. I hated splitting the group by country because it indeed split the group. Creating the line group helps those who aren't on here hitting F5 all day because we get an alert INSTANTLY on our phones/computers. Not many other avenues can do that. The chat is for super off topic random stuff. We had freaking 3,500 posts from Saturday afternoon to Monday early AM. Can you imagine those posts on this thread? Don't knock it unless you've tried it out.
