Shit, just sell the doubles of them. Last I checked at the prices some people were paying for Villager and Wii Fit (and a NA Marth) you could probably make a healthy chunk of your spent money back pretty easily right there. Little Mac and the Wave 3 exclusives too.
 
Question! Just what is Nintendo's plan for Amiibo in the future over then to rob us of our money, time, and souls?

I getcha man. If I hadn't been as lucky as I had been (Christmas, a well-placed birthday, and a lot of gift cards lying around) I'd be probably in the same situation. It's easy for these damn things to add up fast. Combine that with the fact that there's no end in sight and how much effort can go into just being able to buy some of these... I get it hahah.

Sell the doubles, finish the Smash Bros line, open them up and put them on your shelf, then get out of the game satisfied.

I'm curious what your goal was when you got doubles, since it sounds like you had no initial intention to trade or sell them, and none of them are opened except Pit. If you're talking about US versions, the villager alone will get you $150, Marth $100, Trainer $80. Yes, you should be laughing. Aaaaaand once you've lessened your expenses to a level you find acceptable, if you still have some doubles, you may find it a lot of fun to continue getting those doubles in people's hands for the MSRP plus shipping/handling, or via trading for the coming waves.

My intention was to open one, and use one. But I never opened either LOL. And Marth and Villager were gifts after I went and got them on a crazy trip. It actually was more like a drug too. Once I got some doubles, and then other doubles every time I would be around a double I would get it. LOL
 
Yeah that's understandable. The more enthusiasm we and the people around us (including Neogaf) have for these things, the larger the dopamine rush when we overcome the challenge of getting them. It's very addicting, similar to gambling. We put our quarter in by driving somewhere, and every time we come out the loser, it makes that time we come out the winner have that much more impact, and it's easy to get addicted to that rush and lose ourselves a bit. Just be glad it's amiibo and NOT Vegas that grabbed you, because you inadvertently invested your money along the way rather than spent it all. In the end though, be it your amiibo collection or your checking account, nothing is as important as you think it is. Just enjoy yourself, sensibly. :)

Does anyone know who protects the package good from the UK? I dont want to buy one if it get crushed in the mail.

EDIT: I didnt see that there is an own Amiibo thread for UK/EU, i asked there as well =)
 
I just received a payment request for my amiami order of the Super Mario amiibo line. I just paid it off so hopefully they'll arrive before the 20th. I shipped via EMS so, judging from experience when dealing with amiami, I should have may order by sometime next week.

If you are going to use that term, Guarantee. So I take that you possibly have a source that tell you otherwise?

If not then there is no such a thing for guarantee if we don't have any single evidence that we are getting those last 4 characters. If you went with probable or highly likely, then yeah. It's possible that they could patch it in.

I feel you, my enthusiasm is dead as well. I only want ness and lost interest in anything else. I expect him to be a pain in the ass because Nintendo.

I didn't get into buying doubles though

Complete set of wave 1 (18 figures) JAPAN version. 2980 RMB (Approxinately $475 USD)

Is this a good deal? I have no idea anymore.. Been trying to keep up but there's so many different theories being thrown around. Nintendo will release more of the 'rare' figures.. Or they will release cards instead.. I don't know what to do.

$475 USD is about $26 USD each and I would have the whole wave 1 safely delivered in one piece.
 
Eh...I'd pass on that, only 3 of the wave 1 figures are that rare, and even then, 1 of them is for sure getting a restock, and the other 2 are heavily rumored.

I did some more searching and have found a seller who will do every Amiibo rekeased to date in Japan (26 figures) for 2054 RMB ( $328 USD) or about $12 USD each. That's a much better deal.

Oh dear.. What have I begun? I used to collect happy meal toys ffs..

Which 3 Amiibo are hard to find how? Villager, wii fit trainer and ?

Marth, and I guess Fox as well, but I saw a couple in a TRU the other day, so you can probably find one if you have a lot of stores nearby but still in a fairly low population area.
 
Hello Amiibogaf! Happy to finally be able to join in on the fun here. While I hate for my first post in the thread to be two questions, I figured it was okay to ask them in this thread since we are all nice people dealing with the amiibo craze :)

So I preordered a japanese Shulk from Play-Asia way back and unfortunately they emailed me last night saying they would be unable to fulfill the order which is a real bummer. So my two questions being:

1.) Does anyone have experience transitioning the purchase to something else? the email said that I would be able to use the funds on another item and I was just curious how painless this would be. I've never purchased anything from Play-Asia before.

and 2.) I am now without a Shulk. Would a mint in box NA Rosalina be considered a fair trade for one? I'm not picky about what region it's from because I open up all of mine.

The Amiibos they showed in the ad are all commons and relatively easy to find. Mega Man and Sonic might be the exceptions at the moment but they are being restocked on a regular basis, so before long they too will be easy to find.

Surprisingly, that doesn't seem to be the case, at least in my area. Every Walmart, Target, Toys R' Us and Best Buy has every single Disney Infinity 2.0 figure in stock. I was able to walk into my local Best Buy on Yondu and Ronan's release day and grab them without any trouble whatsoever. Could you imagine a world where that happened with amiibo?

Some of the Marvel guys were rare for a time, but they're pretty good with restocking. Unfortunately, it makes them extremely overstocked in most stores.

Skylanders too have had this problem; some figures are still really hard to find (namely store exclusives, the Magic Trap Master and other trap masters that there's only one of the two out) The Trap masters are usually rectified later in the life cycle with restocks and stuff.

To be honest, I think if these amiibo weren't as obscenely rare as they've been, sales probably wouldn't be as brisk as they are, and people wouldn't be foaming at the mouth. I mean, by a show of hands in this thread alone, how many people were intending to just buy one or two amiibo originally, but then saw how fast they sold out, decided that they'd end up getting as many as possible?

Davy Jones, Violet, Syndrome, Francesco, and Randall. Most of the rest are relatively easy to find (read: Toys R Us has tons of them). I lucked into Davy Jones and Violet at Best Buy and $8 second-hands of Syndrome and Francesco. I ended up buying a NiB Randall for cost from a third-party seller on Amazon, but he's nowhere to be seen in stores.
 
Note to Wal-Mart, if you want to build good customer service with your exclusive item, making 50 at a time available every 2 hours and frustrating the fuck out of your customers is not the best way to do it.

Has it really been that often since last night? I have not been able to add it to my cart since last night. The page hasn't updated to reflect out of stock. It just doesn't work.
