Final Fantasy XV Demo Previews/Impressions Thread

Wait, so you can actually summon an eidolon in this demo to fight by your side?

That's actually news to me, too! Damnit, do I want to know or wait for another week? Fuck it. I already know so much about the demo. Now I still have something to find out myself. :D

Yes. The fact you can use the summon in the demo has been known since last year.

I always and only heard about fighting a Summon but not actually using it for your own self... I wonder how that'll work. HYPE!

Are you saying we actually
control the summons directly like Type-0
?

No. We don't how the summon works exactly at the moment but from sound of it, it will be something like past FF games like 7,8 where when you use summon, it does one big damage and disappears.

That makes sense, because I don't see how summons could be controlled in real time with that graphical level without completely tanking the performance.

Back from the French event

We couldn't play the game. However the Community Manager played the game in a big screen (cinema size).

Something funny : the Warp is called Eclipse in french

The build was from 3 weeks ago. Everyday, they create a new build. They will do that until the release. Some pop-in, framerate drop, camera glitch but the game looks gorgeous. It looks difficult though and the "normal battle" took 5 minutes, which is too much. Maybe because he was lvl4. In the demo, we will start at Level 1. We visited the Chocobo Wiz, and sleeping there. It gives more bonuses than camp. Noctis took 2 levels if I remember.

Cidney/Cindy had a spoiler about
the summon Ramuh
. That's why they removed the dialogue when we first saw the sequence in Jump Festa.

The ending of the demo will reveal something big !

Did you actually see the ending and that 'something big' yourself?

Any news about Cor Leonis? he's litterally the only character i like so far lol

Would be nice to see him as a companion...or are we stucked with the same team for the entire game?

*not following the game development at all

I just want to play around with the mechanics more than anything else, so the enemies being a little sponge-y is fine with me.

From what I have seen Garula has really high HP and the cyborg soldiers have really high defense. Those 2 types seems really long time to kill.

I guess for those soldiers, it would be a good idea to use weapons which ignore defense and as for Garula, they seem to be vulnerable to toppling by using Zweihander's spinning move, which can then be pummelled in critical state.

Despite this being an ARPG, time spent fighting a group of mobs, a boss, level grinding, and postgame should still be in the same ballpark as previous Final Fantasy entries if the game wants to feel familiar to the franchise.I'm pretty sure Square Enix planners are well aware of this for the full version.

I know Tabata said you can level to 99 in the demo if you're so inclined. (demo-specific XP curve? Would be really silly to be able to grind to 99 on starting-area mobs in an actual game) Would be fun going around one-shotting everything though.

Why the hell is Final Fantasy Type 0 still not up for preorder on PSN? This is getting ridiculous. I believe XBL had it up for preorder at the beginning of the week. I don't know whose incompetence is to blame, SE or Sony.

Even Squeenix knows it's not fair to bundle the thing with Type-0, they're doing their fans a solid.

Apparently the ending of the demo is special, and that hasn't been spoiled yet. Also hearing they're still working on the final demo build, so they might decide to add or change something last minute (doubt it)

So many spoiler tags. I want to know but at the same time I don't! O_O
EU PSN Type-0 is taunting me with that price. I'll just wait for it to go up on the US PSN for 10€ less. Hopefully it goes up on the store before the release / store update next Tuesday. I don't want to wait until the late evening for it to become available.
Do we already know if it will unlock at midnight?

Hmmm, I won't play the demo anyway, so... should I wait for a good quality stream next week for the summon and ending, or nah? Argh, if I can't even resist small stuff like this how do I expect to manage going on a complete blackout after E3!? :D

The demo won't have remote play, right? I feel like they mentioned it somewhere, but can't remember.

You're screwed

Now I have the money for a PS4 and the game.

But not enough for a HDTV! (My ps3 TV is 720p max, 8 years old and on its last legs).

Must scrape together the funds somehow!

Okay, I need to not post at 9am after no sleep.

p.s. scans are live on Twitter. You have been warned etc.

Damn

Are they still showing it despite Square wanting outlets to stay quiet on it or have they just gone "fuck it show whatever you want"

I highly doubt a major publication like Jump would do something that Square Enix says not to. (From personal experience, it's very scary when SE Japan says not to do something D: )

Possibly the whole point of not spoiling was just so they could give Jump an exclusive?

edit: hahaha wow that Playstation UK text is kinda cringeworthy

That's quite a tall order.

Might be fun to see a whole bunch of different VGM composers remix classic Final Fantasy tracks though. Basically a pseudo-album that isn't FFXV OST but is music used in the game specifically for that purpose on the scale of the amount of people who contributed to projects like Xenoblade or Terra Battle.

Definitely easier than the complex orchestral music for the rest of the game and might make for a nice change for her after all. It doesn't have to be the greatest music ever, just some cool Pop or Electronica songs, mostly instrumentals would be totally fine. Or you know what, get Mitsuto Suzuki back on board to help out with the radio songs! He's great. Actually, I think this is a good idea.
Hire me, SE.

You missed the best one

Director Hajime Tabata reveals all

Actually when you have an orchestrator, a recording engineer, an 80 piece orchestra, production manager, mixing engineer, etc. all on contract, orchestral pieces tend to be personally much less work than something you slave away at by yourself on a DAW.
