Respawn confirms they are working on Titanfall sequel, will be multiplatform

I care about resolution because I have a 4K TV, and 720p stuff just doesn't look very good on it. I cannot wait to see the Steam machines that come out, as they may just be what I'm waiting on.

I intend to build a PC, with Steam OS. Just wish they would hurry up with it.

Even if you simply preferred consoles, that would be fine in my book. I want to make it totally clear that I'm not trying to pick on you or say that caring about resolution is wrong. Again, I personally fall in to the "enjoy the game however you want" camp.

Yes and those games are still going strong while Titanfall is in the bargain bin and season pass being given away for free.

CoD 1, 2, 3, 4, Black Ops, Black Ops II, MW3, W@W vs Titanfall 1

The numerous, numerous BFs vs Titanfall 1.

You're comparing games that have been around for years to one that had its first entry last year. You would have a point if Titanfall flopped, but it did surprisingly well considering all the vitriol surrounding the console and shit.

also, I haven't ever had a problem finding matches in the game, so I would say TF on XB1 is still going strong.

I care about resolution but I'm too lazy to get a gaming PC set up. So ps4 it is.

My list of wants:

- More titan chassis
- Last Titan Standing 12 vs 12
- Limit parties to 3 if teams are still 6v6. Limit parties to 6 if 12v12.
- More maps from the get go
- No paid map packs (to avoid MP splintering and dead playlists)

While it's nice that the game will be available on more platforms, I really hope Respawn is able to deliver a more complete experience this time. Titanfall 1 felt bare-bones to me, like it was sent out much much earlier than it was supposed to.

I really hope they are able to do maps as Vince hopes, splitting the community with map packs is beyond bad.

“That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform.”

Main focus is Titanfall 2.
Another team is doing some smaller stuff, which is also exploratory and is multiplatform.
What's to do with Titanfall 2? Just don't understand...

Great, cant wait to ride the hype-train to a fever pitch only to be bored by the game after the first 5 hours of playing

seriously tho, I hope its really good

I'm just scared thinking what multiplatform will mean for the dedicated servers.

Titanfall uses Microsoft Azure's global datacenter network. This ensured an almost lag free experience for players around the world.

Would they still use Azure, even for the PS4 version? I don't see Sony liking that.

Will they use EA Servers? Well, those suck huge ass balls and are very far from the global presence Azure has.

Would they use Amazon's cloud infrastructure or something similar? I doubt it.

They need to get this right. After the amazing online experience Titanfall, anything less will be a huge disappointment.

Doesn't Stig (GoW3 director) work there now? Would be really surprised if there wasn't a singleplayer campaign in the game either.

I played a lot Titanfall on Xbox One, even if i'm not really into multiplayer shooters, though i hope this one is gonna have a proper single player campaign, which could be pretty good given the gameplay mechanics this game has, or i guess i'll skip this sequel

This is really important. I don't care if it means charging for aesthetic shit like weapon skins and emblems, maps should be free. Splitting up your player-base is the worst.

I believe in this IP.

How did people feel about health in this game though? I hate the COD like instant downs and no reaction times. I feel like it worked better in TF where I could zig zag and maneuver out of trouble, but I can't recall if I died too many times from some random kill from somewhere. Map flow was good, if I recall correctly.

Personally, I like higher health with time to dodge and shoot back, and I think I recall Titanfall playing well in that regard, but it's been a long time

It wasn't often, but there was some crippling lag from what I remember in Titanfall XBO. There were times where the game virtually froze. Not sure if Azure was worth the hype Microsoft was pushing out.

But yeah, not too keen on EA servers with this game, given how shoddy they are with just the basic connections needed in Dead Space 3 crafting or the ME menu.

Yeah, give us free maps.

I worry that they will charge for Titans, weapons, and booster cards though.

I probably would not mind some kind of currency for buying booster cards, with payment options to buy in-game currency (with balanced rare cards that have no game breaking attributes). Since it's EA, I worry about the balance, but if they did it like Hearthstone, I'd be totally okay with it, so long as it means maps are free.

Charge out the ass for skins, taunts (would be cool if your pilot or titan shouted something when going on a streak), and whatever other cosmetic nonsense you want.

I am super excited for a sequel. This game just needs to learn from its mistakes and improve their solid foundation.

How often does a huge exclusive that was marketed and hyped as a "system-seller" ended up being multiplatform for it's next release? I can't remember many cases of it.

Says a lot about Titanfall performance I guess

It will probably still run on Azure across all platforms.

MGS4 > MGS5?

I only played the beta, but I thought the health was done right. Personally I'm always for Halo levels of health in shooters, but I know people don't want that in this game. But at least Titanfall isn't a one pop shop like Call of Duty; I like interesting gun fights with chances to evade or counter-attack.

In other words, the gunplay mechanics aren't the reason I didn't purchase this game (although I think the guns should have more recoil).

This very much so.

Also, add in 2 or 3 more kinds of weapons to take out titans when on foot. Add in like 5 to 10 more primary weapons and maybe 3 to 5 more side arms.

Also, it needs to have a better menu when modding/adding accessories to weapons. Don't make them separate pages. Make it all one page with all the info you ever need on the screen right there. Same with Titans.

Interested to see if they do a SP mode or if they try their MP SP again. It was a interesting idea but a failed one. Was really rather pointless especially when you could not choose what map or side to play on for the story. Oh here's a story but you got a random chance for maps and such. This was earlier on so unsure if they fixed that. Plus it's hard to care for any story elements when you want to win or be higher on the score list.

It was originally intended to be multiplatform until Microsoft had to help the struggling Respawn team (losing co-founder, behind schedule, ongoing legal drama from the Activision/Infinity Ward fall out). Not really an issue of sales performance.

One thing Zampella was keen to think about changing was the DLC model for the future, citing Evolve's commitment to keeping the community united via free maps for all as the ideal way forward.

"I think that's a fantastic way to do it," he said. "I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it's messy. Yeah. I don't know we won't do it again, I can't say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different."

This has always been the right way to do DLC on muliplayer focused games.

So X1 loses exclusivity for the game we where all supposed to rush out and buy one for.

Wonder where all the posters who swore it was exclusive and would never be on a PS platform are?

1080p and 60fps please respawn, don't want any of that gank that was on the X1.

Loses? it's not like titanfall 1 porting to PS4, it just sequel coming to all major platforms.
Though i won't count XB1+PC as exclusive.

I was going to finally buy an Xbox One if this game was only coming to that platform. I have lusted after Titanfall since the day it came out. So glad I am not going to need to buy more hardware for this game.

My problem with the game is that it is starving for content. At $60 its a no buy(just can't justify it, just like I would not able able to justify warhawk for $60), not even in its current state for me. I got the game for $5 and its been an amazing deal. Especially since they just gave away all of the DLC for freeeeeeeeeeee

So happy that I did not buy the game early on. Titanfall has been one of the best deals I have ever had.

I like the whole rhythm of the games, so yeah the health was fine. Short-lived when on foot, but thicker skin and regeneration when in a Titan... like the designers said, it was a nice mix of the COD and Halo gameplays (and I happen to like neither, but loved Titanfall... :P).
I hope the sequel will be as fun as the first episode. I won't get into the old discussion of "give us single player and titanless modes", I just hope they'll keep polishing the gameplay to perfection.
I don't really care if they intend to monetize the card system, because I would probably ignore it altogether. I already keep forgetting using those cards in the current game, since I want to get back into the game as fast as possible. They're adding a nice bonus to the games, but it's just as fun without them.

i think the biggest gripe i have is player encounters. they need to be a lot more thought out if bots are in the mix. i know from playing the game that many times in attrition i run into minions for half the match before i start finding actual human players. i know its not like this in ever gametype, i just would like to see the mions used in more interesting ways and have player vs. player in each playlist take priority.

1. single player campaign mode, a variety of modes besides multi

2. Don't call it titanfall 2, have a subtitle under titanfall

That is all

TTK seemed fine and fair to me. Always felt that I had time to start jumping and rebounding off of the environment to hopefully counterattack, so long as I'm not out in the open. In the latter-case, well, I say SITFU to anyone who complains in that situation. I'll even give out free straws.

Sure, that's fine. Additionally, if someone already has an Xbox and doesn't want to spend 400 dollars to get a PS4, that should be fine too. He cares about resolution, but not enough to have two consoles. 900p is fine for him, given his other concerns.

All I'm looking for here is some consistency.

Guns should probably have more recoil, but there probably needs to be a variety to meet both ends. I can see recoil being too tricky with the movement, but at the same time, mastering recoil and movement should be rewarding.

I too like Halo health, but I do recall Titanfall being fun. COD is super frustrating, with deaths coming at all angles and feeling like instant, lag death. In Titanfall, the flow of the maps felt a lot better, and I recall being able to move well enough to have awesome firefights. I think the shotgun was a tad too instant death (the range I think was super big).

i think the biggest gripe i have is player encounters. they need to be a lot more thought out if bots are in the mix. i know from playing the game that many times in attrition i run into minions for half the match before i start finding actual human players. i know its not like this in ever gametype, i just would like to see the mions used in more interesting ways and have player vs. player in each playlist take priority.

I like bots, because it made the game really feel like a war. If they added 12 v 12 and still had bots, it would be pretty awesome.

It'd be cool if bots offered a strategy for teams too. For example, having one teammate farm bots for a bit to get a Titan faster or something.

Generally, I'd like:

-more team benefits. Maybe burn cards that benefit the whole team, or burn cards that can be activated instantly in-game by one user. Titans offering secondary fire turrets, etc.

-more modes that offer variety. Pilot v Pilot with higher health sounds fun to me. CTF with no Titans also sounds super fun. Last Titan Standing was also great, though we could use bigger, dedicated Titan maps for that.

There's a lot they can do.

Well, thats good.... I guess.

But hopefully, they listen to the feedback to improve on the next, if its going to be multiplayer only again it really needs to be fleshed out.

I expect there will be a marketing deal on this like what we've seen with sony & destiny, only this time MS & Titanfall 2.
