Dunno if it's ok to ask here but anyone have an extra gold mario that they be willing to sell? I'd go $35 shipped if that's cool (located in the US), PayPal of course. Thanks

for me its greninja, duck hunt, bowser jr, pac man & ganon. It would be a bonus if I could get me game&watch, palutena,rob, olimar, ness & maybe dark pit since I couldn't get a regular pit. yea that seems like a lot but like i said, those are bonus that it would suck if i missed them but I wouldn't be too down. the other 5 however are the ones i really want. But even if i did get the bonus ones I don't even know where I'd put em honestly.

oh, if they make a mewtwo amiibo thats a must have.

no sane person would sell golden mario for $35, its worth double that. but maybe someone here will be the ultimate bro/sis or something.
 
My Goldy Mario came in and he's perfect.
I was really worried about derp eyes. Thank goodness for non-derp!

Contemplated keeping him in the box, but I didn't have Mario yet.. so, I scanned him into Mario Kart and will level him up in Smash when I get the rest of the amiibo I'm expecting.

My friend sent me a King Dedede and Meta Knight, which should be here in the next few days. She also wants to send me a Toon Link, which I should have soon-ish as well.

Np saw a bunch on ebay for $40ish thought saving on fees and such that would be worth it to some one.

If you are in the US or Canada, gold Mario isn't even remotely rare. It's being sold at every retailer here in Canada and there seems to be plenty of stock. I bought one just in case, but knowing what I do now, I wouldn't do it again.

This sounds like another reddit case of the troll who couldn't get a gold mario.
I can't speak for it's longevity as far as rarity is concerned but it's very hard to get right now.

I have a Gold Mario Amiibo coming this Thursday, and I am expecting a Villager Amiibo (sister ordered it as a gift for me from some German site), though I have no idea when it will be arriving.
 
What camera do you use? Such lovely pictures!

Goldie is definitely a rare. For how long? Who knows. But at the moment, you can't "just walk into a store and buy one."

yes it is rare. at the very least its rare in nyc, there ain't none of em around. don't know why you're going around spreading tales from your butt.

Pfft Gold Mario is waaaaayyy better. Little known fact:
if you peel off the thin gold wrapper, the inside is solid milk chocolate. Most delicious Mario I've ever had!
 
Kinda tired of having to wait for wave 4 preorders what the hell. Looks like it was for the port strike the reason they are getting pushed for so long but still... :c
 
I told myself I would only get Toad from the Super Mario line, but I ended up getting all of them...Now the wait for my gold Mario!

I wasn't under the impression that you had contacts EVERY WHERE in North America scouting out amiibo availability at every retailer.

Which Bowser Amiibo do people like more?

I'm looking at them both side by side and they both look surprisingly similar.

Obviously Smash has darker colors but the pose is very similar. Unlike Luigi's which is so different it made me want the Smash one.

The scales are more pronounced on the Smash line. So I like how it's a bit more detailed.

I think Smash Bowser looks better.

In comparison the Mario Party Bowser looks less feral and more tame, whereas Smash Bowser has a more menacing presence.

That's just what I think. Not to mention that the MP10 Bowser is an annoying shade of yellow.

Seriously, though. Open your figures, people. The lack of air can cause them to sweat, causing the paint to erode and the plastic to feel "fuzzy". Make sure they're not in direct sunlight, dust 'em every once and a while, and you'll have a friend figure for life.

In all seriousness, taking amiibo out of the box makes them lose 75% of their value, even if it you are right that it can cause more damage. By taking them out of the box, there is no way to distinguish NA from EU or JAP, and therefore the rarity goes out the window.

This doesn't matter for a lot of people, but I like to collect "rare" things. Or at least rarer.

Does it really? That seems to be an anomaly in the figure world, then. Consider me educated.

Opened, but otherwise undamaged figures in the eastern world maybe lose 5-10% of their value compared to unopened figures.

Edit: Ah, that does make some sense, though. Amiibos aren't in boxes and cannot be easily resealed (although they could with adhesive).
 
Grabbed Mega Man, Zelda and Smash Mario earlier. Once my Sheik gets delivered tomorrow (naturally Best Buy had several instock today after not having any when I've looked before), I'll have all the current ones I want. Already had Link, Toon Link, Samus, and Shulk.

Honestly, the only other characters that I'd probably be tempted by would be Ganondorf and/or Zero Suit Samus.
