You aren't actually starting a combo with L1 are you? Anyway, I really like R2 > L1 > R1. It's just too slow or lacks range for a particular boss though.

Just solo'ed him 2nd try a little bit ago then helped 3 other dudes take him down. Lv28 +3 Kirkhammer. Really fun fight.

I'm siting at the front door looking for people that want co-op help while using the Gaf code but not getting any hits.... When using no pass code it takes ~2 min or less everytime...

Super noob question here that may have been answered, but alas... I've killed the first boss and I've died on the second so far, but I still haven't found out where to go to open the gate to the left of the lamp in central yharnam. Did I miss it or not there yet?

Otherwise you can open a shortcut to the second Lantern in the game by entering the house near the wolves, heading downstairs and then left.

Not quite that long, but it's a good 30-45 seconds, even if you die like right next to a lantern.

It's long enough to be frustrating each time.



Do you mean after you die when trying to retrieve them? When you die, they aren't dropped on the ground like in Souls. An enemy nearby where you died now has them. Their eyes will glow purple-ish to indicate they have your echoes. It's not always the enemy which killed you either, but it seems to be whatever enemy spawns closest to where you died.

Have you checked that they weren't

I was just walking around randomly where I died with no enemy nearby and I randomly got my blood echoes back twice. I literally have no clue how it happened and yes I know about the glowing eyes thing.

1) Learn how to use the pistol riposte. It's critical to killing a lot of these enemies.

Aggro them, and pull them back to the archway closest to the boss fight/lantern. They won't go past it. I just stand just past that doorway and attack them and dodge their attacks, but they won't run towards you, so it's much easier.

YEAAAHHH!! Finally beat those fuckers. Once I was able to take out 1 or them, (had two molis), and actually concentrate and how one fought, I was able to take it down, and got the shortcut finally. I'm unlearning Dark Souls stuff too. Not having a shield in this game freaks me out, but I like it better.

Weird. I haven't encountered that yet.

I know that in the boss fights, they get dropped on the ground, and maybe when there's no enemies which spawn within a certain of your death, they also spawn on the ground. I don't recall if I needed to just walk near them to get them back, or needed to press X. But hey, at least you got them back!

Yeah even stranger I noticed getting summoned into a world basically instantaneous (2-3 seconds of black screen) but getting put back into your world after the summon is the usual load of 10-20 seconds.

Man I hope they can optimize that in next patch.

Well, I just started not long ago. I went with the axe. I tried killing that bigger mob to the left in the first area and he handed me my ass, and took my souls. I came straight back and used my pistol to stagger him and vicious striked (or whatever it is) that fool.

I've just pre-ordered the game on the psn. The thing is, it's not the first time i pre-ordered something at the last minute: what happened to me with Infamous was that the psn kept giving me an error when I tried to launch the game after midnight. Something about a licence for the game.

I guess it was happening because the payment had not been processed yet, so i ended up paying straight away for the post-launch release and cancelling the pre-order (and its perks).
Has anybody ever pre-ordered something this late? Did the same problem happen to you? Is there any way to pay the game right away as if it was a normal purchase?

despite the camera/getting stuck stuff which I experienced in fights 1 and 2, I thought the fight in the graveyard was one of the cooler bosses I've seen in a game and what a fun surprise...

I was getting my ass beat by the cleric beast up until I gave up on trying to parry so much and just did traditional dodge and attack, playing it safe... once I adopted that mindset it became very doable.

I already went into the sewers and grabbed the hunter set.

The R2 attack does decent amounts to him. Like others have said, this is a battle of attrition. You should go into this fight fully stocked in vials, bullets, and especially molotovs. I got 2 critical hits on him off his head, then spammed molotovs ( but make them count!) on him. In the end I only had to "normal hit" him a few times.

This game feels way harder than Dark Souls. The 2nd boss is fucking relentless. I had him down to one more hit and I accidentally switched my weapon, but didn't have a 2nd weapon equipped. Panicked. Died.

Honestly, this is why I'm against using the passcodes, unless you're trying to play with one player specifically. You're artificially limiting yourself to a very small subset of the overall community for co-op, which just makes it very difficult to find anyone. I prefer playing with the entire community, especially while it's at its peak right now.

Though, sadly I could not get any jolly cooperation against boss #2. :'( Waited 5 minutes and nada, even as I was running around, hoping there was a bell nearby.

Make sure you're lined up directly in front of them. I feel your pain though, because sometimes it seems like it should do the riposte, and it ends up being just a normal attack.
