Just solo'ed him 2nd try a little bit ago then helped 3 other dudes take him down. Lv28 +3 Kirkhammer. Really fun fight.

I'm siting at the front door looking for people that want co-op help while using the Gaf code but not getting any hits.... When using no pass code it takes ~2 min or less everytime...

Question of pride. I try to never summon on boss fights during my first run haha.

what the fuck is up with ripostes in this game? I can get the big dudes down 100% of the time, but my actual riposte/heavy damage attack only goes off about a quarter of the time. It's rage inducing - what am I doing wrong?

You're probably too far away. You got to be right up in their business once they're down on the ground to pull of the brutal attack. Otherwise you're just gonna swing the weapon and hit them normally. If you have the stamina try following the pistol parry up with a glide, to get in close before delivering the blow.

I want to use the cane. I like Dex builds, and it seems like Skill is the new Dex.

My friends were saying the saw is way better. Thoughts?

Also, for a Dex build, which is a better starting class, Professional or Troubled Childhood?

I haven't been playing for too long, but I keep getting wrecked by those beast dogs on the bridge. Any advise for killing those fuckers? I just lost 5k to 'em. I wasn't doing much damage and I'm not confident enough in my skills yet, so tried luring them to the sewer entrance in hopes they'd fall in. One fell through, the other tore my face off.

I already went into the sewers and grabbed the hunter set.

Run slightly past them, and you'll see a lone random "human" enemy to the left, there will be a set of stairs that eventually lead to a shortcut. (If you get to the boulder enemy and crows you've run too far). The wolves can't run past the opening of the building so you can cheese them there if you want to.

Finally started playing, and all I've done for the past 10 minutes is time the non-weapon melee moves to the song Kung Fu Fighting......and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon....

Haha yeah me too. Doesn't matter how many times I die on a boss. I've just been having a lot of fun co-op'ing and would rather play w Gaffers but haven't gotten a single hit using the code even when changing the region to world wide.

Ok quick question,I need to stop playing, been playing for almost 2 hours,I hav 5,000 blood echoes but the only way to use those is to return to the Hunters Dream...? and by doing so I will have to redo all that I have slowly managed to do in those 2 hours...?(granted might be faster but damn)....can't I save where I am or something lol ?

Loving it so far though...the framerate is pretty bad though...

Professional is my go to for a Skill Build. And the Cane has a C scaling with Skill. I think it can go up to A if you keep upgrading it.

So I got a question..... it isn't really a major question but more of a curious one

Okay so when you click the left side of the touchpad and it shows you the emotes... Under each emote picture there is a DS4 diagram....... Are those short-cuts to using those emotes?

Since some of them tell you to wave the controller around and I tried doing everyone to no prevail..... I just want to know if I got the right idea or am I just crazy

Any tips for downing
Gyula, the gatling gun dude
? It’s the miniboss in Old Yarnham.

Bum rush him, then either shoot him off the ledge or use the heavy mode of your weapon to clobber him off the edge. A toe-to-toe fight with him is... extremely hard.

yeah I am, it just does a normal attack sometimes, and other times it works. i guess I just don't have the timing down right but it feels like I'm doing it exactly the same each time. bah

Make sure youre doing the light (r1) attack after they are staggered. Its kind of non-intuitive but thats that I guess.

55 more minutes to go...

I think you need the camera. I may be mistaken.

After removing the GAF password, I'm now being summoned almost immediately after ringing the bell. D:

I was afraid of that...

So either the majority of GAF:

  • Doesnt have the required items to summon or be summoned.
  • Arent using the items and just trying to play solo most of the time
  • Dont have the password set according to the info in the OT
  • Are playing offline

I dont think levels have anything to do with it either, since they killed the whole soul level thing.

24 GB?? 25??
I don't want to start it up :lol it should be at around 22gb. I mean, it's simply not going to finish before midnight - but at least it won't say "fuck you" in the middle of the game... right? RIGHT? :lol

I'm guessing people aren't doing co-op right now. I haven't seen any posts saying "Hey summon me if you need help against such and such boss."

The code is all caps right? Just want to make sure.

It also took me a bit to realize where to put it in. The System menu wasn't very obvious until I actually looked for it.

This patch is taking forever to download :/

Try downloading the game...it's on its 10th hour now and not even halfway done.

A few days ago I downloaded Samurai Warriors 4 which is about 20GB in like 2 hours.

This may be a good sign for digital sales or PSN is just shitting itself at the worst time.

I need to learn how to parry. Never touched it in the Souls games.

You just fire the gun when they're about to attack?

Me too, the cleric beast keeps destroying me, I am glad I got that shortcut so I can make it back there fairly quickly and painlessly

I played my first, 20 or so hours using mostly the cane. I still adore it*. If you learn it you'll be fine.

The whip aspect becomes problematic vs foes you need to retaliate against quickly, but the cane mode does fine there. I'd probably still be using it very often if I didn't fall in love with the daggers. It's still usually my second weapon, only losing attention because my rune and fortify focus has been on the daggers.

If you're interested, give it a shot. By the time you know if its for you or not you'll be able to replace it with plenty. So little to lose for potentially a fun, effective sleek weapon that is, for serious lack of a more apt term, seriously cool.
