These werewolves are fucking destroying me. I'm just trying to cheese them with firebombs at this point, but they still rush me and kill me. Only gotten past once.

The lack of bonfires is really killing my progression. I haven't accomplished a single thing so far.

Hmm... Seem to be stuck. There's an elevator with a lever that says it's not operational. I don't see any other way to go so does anybody know how to get it working? I didn't fight the first boss yet so maybe that's not the right way?

Do I need to go through the sewers?

Throw a pebble at one and fight it one on one.

How do I know when the game is fully installed so I can play online mode? Right now I just get the message that's it's not fully installed.

The regain system should be fully utilized, aggression means a lot. If you continue attacking you'll come out with the same health you went in with. I'd say its similar to Ninja Gaiden where you can basically refill your health bar without ever using items cause of blue orbs(but obviously Bloodborne isnt anywhere near as lenient as Ninja Gaiden 1/Black)

The regain system is clear that this game wants to put you in a much more aggressive mentality and if you can utilize it right, it can be great. An awesome new mechanic and incentive to get people to get in there and actually fight instead of just playing it slow.

They get sent to storage automatically when you have 20 and find more. It does the same for ammo.

You mean when I pick up a blood vial and it has that weird mark next to it when i capped out at 20? I'll have to check my store the next time I die or get back to the HD.

Five bosses down. I think I'm done for the day.

Had some fun helping some people out in coop and got some insight and a lot of souls for my troubles. Spent that extra insight on a fancy new armor set. Feels good.

You can't activate the lever now. You'll have to gain access to the elevator on a different level.

I've played and beat many difficult games in my time but I can't can't get past the first thirty minutes of this game and I've tried for hours. Beyond bored with playing the same segment over and over again. Serious buyers remourse, and worse yet it's digital and I can't trade it in.

What weapon are you using?
I was getting pretty frustrated using the axe. Switched to Sawblade and boom, made it to the first boss. Switch things up and try another weapon or build. Don't give up!

Beat the first boss first try. Shit was intense, got a co-op guy for a run, led me all the way to the second boss, showed me where all the secrets were, and then second boss killed me after he transformed. Beckoning bell is not summoning anyone. (._. ) How does the password system work again? And how do I get summoned?

If you mean the ones on the bridge you can run past them and into a building on the left. Just be aware of the guy on the steps into the building and guys in the room. From there you can cheese the werewolves because they cannot go through the door.

Father G is hard as hell can't get passed phase 3 i have even leveled up a bit and have my saw +2.... Starting to get super frustrated lol cuz I can breeze through every enemy in the first world but his ass

Do I need to go through the sewers?

Usually those are shortcuts, and you need to trigger the other end first.

Is the gate open in front of it? If so then you just walk in and there's a little button on the floor which starts it.

I'm a Souls veteran and I found the area up to and including the first boss to be a pretty solid difficulty level. People new to the series must be getting wrecked.
I had 3000 blood, should I have back tracked and used those? I got killed and didn't want to play anymore. Didn't play any of the previous games.

So, I accidentally walked into the second boss arena before ever meeting the first. I died savagely.

That unlocked the Doll, however, so I leveled up a little and took on the first boss, then went and instantly killed the second one, no problem.

Onto the
Cathedral Ward
!

Woot! Second boss down!

It's getting a bit tougher after the beginning area, and it's forcing me to focus more. IM loving it, but I have to take a break or I'm going to end up losing a lot of blood echoed.

Question: I beat the first two bosses, and am now onto
vicar werewolf lady
and
stank beast
, both of which have killed me a couple of times. From a progression point, which one should I be taking on?

Question 2: There are three weapons I'm interested in; the
katana
,
great sword
, and
scythe
. Could I get a quick hint about how close I am to at least one of them? The canes fun and all, but it's lack of power even at +3 is starting to wear on me.

For question 2,
for the greatsword, beat the stank beast, then a door in the safe part of the cathedral opens up, follow that up an elevator and go through the area a little and you'll find the item for it, you gotta buy it though

He's fucking hard. Just be patient and spend some time dodging to learn his attacks and try parrying him right as he starts up his attack animation. He's no joke though.

I think you can get the 2nd weapon you mentioned already.

Take the elevator on the right of the cathedral and instead of dropping down when you're at that tower, climb to the top. You should find a badge in a chest near the top of the place. Then you can buy the greatsword for 20K souls.

Edit: Er, as someone mentioned, there's something you have to do first. I didn't realize you could even get to that area without having done that first anyway, haha.

I took down Father G after five tries, eventually (strategy spoiler)
I used the music box 3 times in phase one by keeping tombstones between us while activating it. As soon as he began to glow for phase II I ran up the stairs at the back of the area. The tombstones become a liability. The balcony provided a long, relatively unobstructed arena to dodge around his attack strings and get hits in on his recovery. The music box can be used one more time while he's in beast form for about 4 free hits.
You can parry his attacks after he transforms too. You kill him quickly that way.

Any tips? Can't seem to stun him at all.

i managed to stun him twice by accident just spamming shoot

i tried shooting him mid attack and right at the end of his attack but could not figure out how to pull it off consistently, noideawhatimdoing.jpg

the rest of my damage was mostly oil and molotovs and the occasional charge attack with my whip

While this game is pretty fun, the beginning is pretty ass. No leveling up yet and I have to go through the giant mobs of enemies to get back to werewolves every time I die = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Loving the game so far, feels like an improved Demons Souls. The frame rate gets in the way but the game feels smooth and the environment is so freaking godly. I don't think I'll be playing anything else for a while and that sucks as I have 3 games to review ;(

I actually beat Boss #2 without ever fighting boss #1. I think I ended up fighting Cleric Beast 4th or so.
