This is probably a dumb question but how do you remove items from storage? My molotov's don't replenish if I go back and forth from the Dream or die. My vials and bullets do, but molotov's don't for some reason. Are they not supposed to? I have some in storage but I see no option when I go there to take stuff out.

It's in a box near the work bench in Hunter's Dream

Minions always respawm when you dead or tp back to the hunter's dream.

Is this really true for all minions? The first enemy did not respawn after returning from the hunter's dream for me (admittedly, could have been after killing it twice, don't really remember). Are there one off minions that you only have to kill once in Bloodborne?

Finding the 3rd boss (BSB) to be a real pain in the ass. Tried and died 3 times thanks to poison and at least one insta-kill from him. Gonna try again by switching from cane to saw blade and my armor to the poison resist, but any strats guys?

Had to go back to Yarhnam and farm my heart out for more health and ammo because of the expenditure :| Don't like doing it, but on the upside, I usually walk away with an extra level. Level 25 or so now. Don't know if that's about right for where I'm at.

Finally beat
Blood starved beast
thanks to some good tips from some fellow GAFers. It's really a simple fight. Was starting to worry every boss fight was going to require parrying. Glad it's just another option.

Co-op works wonderfully. Glad you're able to play with friends more easily. Was able to co-op with friends, and they were summoned almost instantly.

Finally found the Great sword. Loving the move set. Bye bye, Kirkhammer. This might be my game of the generation.

Also, anyone have success in invading? Are invasions always 2v1? The only time I successfully invaded it was when other people summoned for co-op. Seems like I can only be invaded solo is when I use the red resonating bell too.

Just watched a video of the second boss encounter. Now I remember that form. All I did was
a two-handed jumping attack after he did pretty much any attack and then double, locked on back dashes. He died pretty quickly.

Question for those playing...

Do you think From have made the difficulty on Bloodborne higher than normal to encourage the regain system? Is it too difficult for new players?

I've never played a Souls game before and it took me around 3 hours to get to and defeat the first boss.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad?

any tips? I'm struggling
Basically be aggressive. This strat below helped me out. Summoning will help out a bunch too.
Literally, constantly charge at him from the front. Don't go defensive or he'll get you. When you come at him straight from the front he will start doing telegraphed smashes with his right hand that are extremely easy to dodge and following up with dash + R1 attacks. Even when he's in poison mode keep charging right at his front and dodge the telegraphed attack that you force out of him. When hes in poison mode he has an additional 3-attack combo and a 5-attack combo that he can do when you charge from the front. As soon as his attack goes off you should recognize which one it is; on the 5-attack combo you'll probably have to dodge a second time because the 5th attack seems to go in your direction.

I think the only enemies that die permanently are other hunters and bosses I think.

Yeah this game is pretty hard, I can't even really do much to get past this opening town place lol.
I'm inching my way through the town little by little. Meaning I kill all the guys that killed me last go round, then die to a new set of guys. I'm at the little funeral pyre they've got set up, and that marksman fucked me up as soon as I got there.

Advice required weaponsGAF!

Should I go Ludwidgs Holy Blade or Blade of Mercy. I have enough Blood Echoes for both atm, I'm level 31 with 21 skill, 10 str and base arcane but I can start chucking stuff in str/arcane as well no problem

Blasting those big guys with a shotgun blast right as they're about to attack and then doing the finishing move is so damn satisfying. More so than parries in DS imo.

I'm dying to the same group lol, trying to find a path to pick them off but man they keep rushing me eventually...

My Collector's Edition shipped! Should be here later today. Sucks that today of all days I'm home way later than normal. Bloodborne will probably be the only thing I can think about.

Managed to get an hour in before work today. I almost whipped the first mob with my fists. Felt good man, I dodged into a gurney though and got whacked.

Decided to go for the big axe which was a total awesome choice as I was a halberd guy in Dark souls. I dont feel the mobs are that hard however, even tho I'm playing as "waste of skin". I just hope I unlock the leveling soon because I die to stupid mistakes and could need some extra padding on the stats. ( I wont reroll though, Waste of skin or go home!)

So yeah. How long after the funeral pyre is it to get to level up? (Feel free to reply with a spoiler text).

The Ludwig's Holysword is fucking godly.
FUCKING GODLY!
It feels like the Drakesword already.
I mean fucking claymore stab from literally 10yrd away with fast animation and flawlessly chaining combos in?
One shooting everything.
Fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you too.
Give me your souls, you won't be needing it.

Ahhh, so I guess the first enemy may be a special case? I will have to go back and see if it is despawned after dying as well (only noticed that it was gone after returning from hunter's without dying).

You have to either beat or die to the first boss.

should i spend echoes to level up stats or weapon upgrades 1st?

Depends.

Are you feeling you are losing a lot of health? Then go for Vit and End upgrades.

Are you feeling you are not dealing out enough damage? Then go for weapon upgrades + level up the offensive stat your weapon scales with.

But I think weapon upgrades are genereally cheap, so you'll probably have enough echoes to a level as well.

I took a pretty big gamble when I bought this game because I didn't like Dark Souls. I played it for about 12 hours according to Steam and it just didn't click with me for whatever reason (maybe I sucked).

Bloodborne has its hooks in me though. So damn good. I'm progressing pretty slowly on purpose but frustration hasn't set in at all, whenever I die I'm just motivated to play smarter and get 'em next time.

Your call. It's probably better to invest in stats/levels as you're likely to find a weapon you'll enjoy more later in the game, but the first playthrough is always your best opportunity to make mistakes in the Souls games so do what you feel is right.

Parries in DS never felt this good to be honest, my only complaint about everything in the game is that it is almost too good.

:P

Nice, I can't wait.

This requires a Quality build, right? So a mixture of STR and SKL?

You need 1 insight (eye under the blood echos), either by just seeing a boss (no need to beat it, you can just warp back with the hunters mark after the fight starts) or find an insight in the level elsewhere without seeing one of the bosses. With 1 insight you can see
that the doll in the hunters dream is alive. She can level you up. You also have access to the house and the workbench

Woot, just read that you can summon
Father Gascoigne
to beat the Cleric beast oO.

Juat hang in there, it'll get easier

You have to play this game at the exact pace that feels good for you, I remember spending 40+ hours in Dark Souls 1 before even ringing the second bell. I loved it, took my sweet ass time and never got frustrated to be honest.

Spent a good bit of time helping others kill the 2nd boss, but I think I'm going to stop. It's really face roll easy with two people and they need to suffer like the rest of us did!

but it sure is fun smashing his f'n face in...just wish it yielded more blood echoes

Less than 5 hours to go...
