Getting the shortcut in
the forbidden forest
felt AMAZING. Fuck this place man...I had like 50K souls by the time I found it.
 
Did the
Shadow of Yharnam fight without dying! Fuck yeah! The last guy's hydra summons were boss as fuck. Also holy shit, magic. Magic errwhere!
 
Guys how can I get back to Yahar’gul the Unseen Village?

I got kidnapped by the enemy and when I found the first lantern I went back to the Hunter's Dream.

Now I'm stronger and want to get back to Yahar’gul to explore but I let the bag carrying dudes kill me but he doesn't take me there anymore.

The lantern I lit on Yahar’gul doesn't appear on the messengers menu on the Hunter's Dream.

I'm afraid my game is bugged!
 
I've just hunted Blood Starved Beast and I've bought Ludwig's Holy Blade. Problem is, I need 2 more skill and 1 more strength to use it :'( I'm so desperate to try it out!

Does anyone know a good farming spot that I could use at this point? All the ones I found from Googling seem to be further into the game.
 
So, having Gascoigne as my first boss means I missed another dude somewhere else, right?

I'm a bit annoyed as I lost 10k blood while he had a sliver of health left. And now that I've lost it all I've finally unlocked leveling.

The teleport is from a different tombstone then then one you are use to using.

I feel overleveled lol. Level 40 now and beat the third boss on first try and the fourth (or swap those numbers, no idea) on second try. Feels still great though. Especially with the fire/electric paper upgrade the fourth one is fairly easy.

Also that reminds me, I've played a couple of hours of chalice dungeons and I'm always ringing my bell but I've yet to summon anyone. What gives?
 
anyone found the last upgrade item? or is it hiding in ng+?

also how many
umbilical cords
can be found before going to ng+? I have a theory if get a certain number...
 
I think I'm going to duck out of the thread until I'm almost done to avoid spoilers now that people are getting further into the game.
 
Beyond pissed. Managed to stockpile 8 Vials and feeling pretty good before Cleric. Decide to ring my bell ad get some help. Nobody comes the game takes my lone Insight. I'm already pissed. Get in there and whack on Cleric until about half health. Managed to not only use all of my vials, I also find out tat sticking behind him is a terrible idea because he likes to swipe me from behind which kills me. I'm seriously considering rerolling a Soldier using a Saw Cleaver. Threaded Cane is a piece of shit that does no damage and Cleric Beast can suck my dick from now until next year.

Wooo my first ever midnight launch, sitting at home, with a bottle of Dr Pepper all on my lonesome, with only my TV and PS4 switched on, thank you digital. :')
 
I beat the Witch today. Definitely the easiest boss fight so far (by a landslide).

Anyway, does it pay off to invest some points in Arcane?. I just realized my Holy blade scales from it but I wonder if it will also be useful for other things later on.

OMG in the area where you unlock the shortcut to the lantern (where the first snake parasites appear) I found some guy that I though was eating someone. I asumed it was just a regular enemy and I hit him, apparently he was an NPC as he transformed into this giant Werewolf (and started talking about being a monster). I hope he wasn't too relevant, at least I got a rune from him

In the room after the fifth boss fight
(the Witch)
you get the item that will allow you to equip runes at the Hunters dream (near the one where you upgrade weapon that up until this point told you you were missing an item or something like that)
 
I think I just fucked up big time…

I dropped down below the Workshop and ended up in some area I've never been before. A huge guy who kept distorting the air or something killed me and then I woke up in a jail cell. Now I'm in some place with old ladies who are one shotting me from behind and more of those big dudes. I'm only level 25 and have only beaten up Blood Starved Beast. I think I'm way out of my league here.
 
I think I fucked up a shortcut in the Forbidden F
orest. I raised the elevator and and stepped off of it. Doesn't seem like there's a way to reset it back down from the bottom...
 
Can anyone tell me what
crazy turret guy drops? Because he fell off the tower and the loot is up to high for me to grab it. Please tell me I didn't miss out on something cool.

I have 3000 blood echoes, want to buy new weapons.

I'm using Hunter's Axe +1 and Pistol.

I'm not a huge fan of the pistol.

My options in the shop are: Repeating Pistol and Kirkhammer. Each are 3000, which one's better to grab first?

EDIT: Dammit, can't use the Kirkhammer, need 16 Strength. I have to get the pistol and then also upgrade my str by 1 to use it.
