Just beat
The Witch of Hemwick
. She was pretty easy but if you get caught up you can be finished really fast. Love this game!

I've been thinking, and one thing I really like about this game in comparison to the Souls games is the fact that it basically takes place in one giant city. I guess there are areas outside of the city too, but the whole area just seems more logical than the other games. Like, it makes sense for a city like this to be the size that it is, and with as labyrinthine design as it has. It was great how connected everything in Dark Souls was, but it didn't make sense for an entire country to be essentially the same size as a big city, connecting so many different types of areas so closely to each other, and even another country connected to it (Oolacile). And of course we all know how illogical Dark souls 2's world is. Demon's Souls is the exception I guess, since you teleport to areas from the nexus. And it's not a problem that the older games were like this, of course. It's just an abstraction, nothing to be upset about, but it's really nice to see the area design to be even more logical in this game.

Such brilliant design.

I know that, and it's as slowly thrown as the one in Dark Souls in a game as fast as this. You''ll never land it.

Yeah, that thing is piss easy to sidestep.

PvP will basically be a war of attrition as everyone burns through health vials since they're super fast to cast. Which also means a hell of a lot of farming to keep a supply. Which sounds like the opposite of anything I want to get into.

I had a match that lasted an hour until the guy finally decided to pull his cord after i killed his summons. It's pretty stupid.

haha, started out, killed like a thousand villagers and then can't beat the two huge wolves on the bridge :E

You can cheese them easily by luring them in the house down the stairs, you can get in but they cant. Free hits but don't get too close as they can still hit you through the door/wall.

I think guns will actually be huge tool in keeping people from chugging pots.

Two awesome things I've noticed... First of all, the rune that increases xp from visceral attack kill is a HUGE increase, almost twice as much xp. Second, Forbidden Woods is a great place to get vials of blood.

I run around with my two moon runes (increases echoes from enemies) and one rune that ups the discovery stat with 50. I can farm around 300k in 20-30 minutes if I'm effective, albeit one level now costs over 100k...

souls become endless in late game pvp so vials won't be hard to stock. Chalice dungeons already pump souls out like crazy.

people may also agree not to use vials. healing can be counter-shotted too. It seems decently balanced.

I want to find that crow lady today... need that armor.

Bored of what I am wearing now.

Wait, high insight makes the boss harder? I've been running around with 99 insight for many, many hours..

lol, high insight makes EVERYTHING harder.

I tried fighting the same enemies, once with 10 insight, and then used a madman's knowledge to increase it to 11.

Suddenly, those same enemies that died with one axe swing now take two.

People beat bosses on their first attempt!? How!? I beat The Cleric Beast and Gazza both after must have been 20 - 30 tries. Bloodborne is my first Souls game though, that might have something to do with it.

Do those actually interrupt it? It just seems way too quick.

a gun shot doesn't just interrupt healing it actually does a full stun opening you up to a visceral attack.

the current wisdom is the 15 insight is the first level where enemies change.

DId anyone kill the guy in the
rocking chair
before the
Boss in Byrgenworth, he's still there when I went back way later and I'm wondering if he has anything

What can you buy with Insights though? I have 10 now. So you're supposed to keep that number on the low side?

ok the
shadow of yharnam
was a epic fight. like fight
snake ninjas that can control fire and summon biggers snakes.

For real it really shows the amazing hit boxes this game has or the amazing iframes.. I was fucking dodging all three like neo :P... was fucking awesome... really wish I would have remembered to share button it.. :/

There's a whole bunch of armor and shit you can buy from the merchant.

You can also keep using the beckoning bell to lower it. Also, avoid using madman's knowledge.

There's another well by the house in Hunters Dream, go out the window on the right as you go in.

Can spend insight there on stuff. I didn't realize high insight makes shit harder, I rock 11 to 15 routinely lol.

The art is very cohesive. Nothing seems out of place. In the previous souls games they added variety but I always felt like the areas do not naturally flow in terms of art style from the previous area. Here there is variety but not variety for variety sake. It is still consistent in terms of its art style. DS2 was the worst in this regard. The environment design here is really top notch.

First timer that was able to beat Cleric Beast on first try. I just constantly got behind it and hacked away and kept my distance when it went for its combo attacks, granted I used a lot of vials to keep me alive.

What level character? That axe is doing a lot more damage than my little cane seems to - looks like better reach too. Wondering whether to start over with a different weapon as I don't like getting in too close.

Its plus 3 which is the most until I find the twin shards. I also have two bloodstones on it increasing attack by 1.4 each. 18 str.

yeah hearing most of gaf having trouble with online coop or pvp I miss it im on the spider boss and haven't been invaded once.. wtf is up... I did try to help with the little bell for the father boss and waited for like 30 minutes... no one..they really shouldn't take one of your insight away unless you get connected and die.. really hope they look into it.. people should stop using passwords for now also... better chance to connect at all... :/
ds2 launch was awesome for this soo many signs on the ground for help with bosses.. I didn't solo until my third play-through..

The online is a mess honestly. The whole password thing is the most hacked on solution i've ever seen.

Ok done for tonight as well. I wasn't able to make any progress since Tuesday thanks to work but today I've made quite some progress (with a lot of deaths). Here are some questions I have about the progress I made. I hope someone can answer them for me.

-
I killed BSB. Is that it with Old Yarnham? Is there anything else to do in that area? I killed the hunters.

-
I have not killed VA (she's crazy tough and her screams legit creep me out). Is she like the major boss to beat in order for something to change in the story? Because I've taken the route to the Witches and that was a dead end according to a gaffer, and I took the other route where I was grabbed by the chutulu monster from early footage and died and went back to the lamplight.

-
I also have the area where you get sent to a prison unlocked. I'm assuming that this is more of a later game area, right? It's located in the last tombstone and the enemies are hard.

Yeah I want to help gaffers but I can never seem to get in on games. So I just dropped the password and help everyone.
