Hmm, this is the first time I've seen shorting, or betting against the market, being applied to amiibo. Looking at some of the rare amiibo during their pre-order phase on ebay, you can see the highest prices that amiibo has ever gotten. If you know this, and no one else seems to, then you can successfully short the market. With stocks, the person will borrow another person's shares and sell those for the current price, and then wait for that stock value to plummet before buying back those shares and giving them back. Essentially this is the same concept: sell preorders to people even if you don't have any preorders, letting them know that the amiibo will ship within 2 weeks after launch day, then buy them off ebay about a week after launch when the market is saturated with resellers and ship them to your own buyers and pocket the difference, minus fees and shipping. It's a risky idea, I don't recommend trying it.Plus it's amiibo for goodness sakes.Treating them like this is like selling your soul and an hour or two of your time for a $20 bill.

I'm as anxious as anyone else to preorder the next wave, but it was getting old quick. I don't want to tell people they can't post asking about it, but I just didn't understand why it's so hard to look back one page. Yes, if no one asks for a whole page, then someone would have to look back two pages to see preorders aren't available yet. "No preorder" madness got the best of me. I don't want to censor you guys, I love all of you and your antics.

Not a good trade IMO. Those games just regular price are worth more than the Gold Mario, and they aren't regular price anymore.
I wasn't asking are pre-orders here more than, hey, maybe they're coming. Sorry about that, I should have found something to actually add some point to the post.

I probably would have got it. A restock isn't going to bring him down any lower than $25 Shipped unless it was in Smash Peach levels. Safety net is worth the $5 extra imo.

Only Canada got a reprint I think someone said.

I sold an oot 3d at the peak apparently, since it's gone down a bit. Got $70 for it right as MM released.
Wow. Didn't even know they were rare. Still have mine. I only opened it for the Club Nintendo code but I keep my Zelda games. Still have the original NES version in the box with the map and book.
Yeah, it went up because of a exploit they found that used Ocarina of Time, I don´t remember what the exploit did tho.

Why would they reopen manufacturing for a single country when their digital storefront contains the same software? It was probably a lost pallet or just unsold copies.

Take this with a grain of salt - but I just got done talking with Walmart support and there may be more Golden Mario coming in 4/7, at least to my local Walmart.
When they opened up sales on the 24th, I tried to buy one for pick-up at close Walmart. The order went through, but it has been stuck at processing now for three days when the email said I should be able to pick up my amiibo by 8PM that night.
Well, so I contacted support today and after a lengthy back-and-forth, they told me the store is expecting a shipment to arrive on 4/7 and then after they process the inventory, I should get my pick-up email.
Like I said, take it with a grain of salt, and I for one am not trusting until I see the pick-up email... but here is all the latest info I have 'bros.

I had no issue at all just ordering Toad straight from Amazon. I don't really think he's all that rare, certainly not like Little Mac, who I'm not even sure was ever on a store shelf in the US.

You tell me. The fact that its readily available by amazon canada as well means its not just one store getting all these copies or just now getting them or unsold copies. Most likely it was a reprint.

My wife basically doesn't have any of the amiibo she wanted because I was lazy and figured there would always be plenty of them. I didn't start paying attention until the middle of wave 3. So I'm extra motivated to stay on top of preorders for wave 4. She really wants the Charizard this time around.
