I'm 20 hours in and actually have 3 different areas possible to explore

1.) Old Yharnam
2.) Forbidden Forest
3.) Nightmare Frontier

None of which I've really tackled yet.

Beating Amelia took a long time lol. Was shocking.
Her lunging strike at first I could dodge and counter easily, and would die to some other attack or combo. Then suddenly after 5-6 fights her lunges kept killing me. So I was like ok fuck this, im going to take all my parry skills that I use on the way to her, and just stay on her hip and parry and counter. And voila, doing that I kicked her ass only using 5-6 vials.

Heart was pounding and in my throat the entire time as soon as she got down below half health.

Questions:

1. Is quality build worthwhile? I love the Ludwig holy blade and it seems more bang for your buck to pump SKL after getting STR to 25

2. are the blood echo items all fine to use? Later ones say they give you "frienzied" blood echoes, I dunno if that is just colorful language or if it does something weird
1) Yes putting points into Skill after 25 in Strength gives you a good damage increase. Worth it to put points in Skill. If you have an elemental gem in your weapon then you get good bonuses from Arcane too. Would not be surprised to see 25/25/25 with an element build for Ludwigs as it scales well with all 3 stats.

2) Nah it's just colorful language.

Thanks for the kind send off into this dank hell. It shall be glorious. I definitely needed this after the month I have had

Hope all is well with you man.

So, I beat
BSB
and went back to Cathedral Ward. I went through the newly opened door and up the tower outside until I got to the locked door. I then went down the tower, dropped through the huge pit from scaffold to scaffold, made it down safely and out the door. Slaughtered the
KKK-looking MoFos
on patrol with great ease, and then made the mistake of trying to backstab the
bag man
without realizing what he was. Got captured and taken to prison-village. Escaped prison village. I guess my question now is should I continue exploring the area beneath the Cathedral Ward tower or should I save up the 10k souls to buy the key to open the other locked gate in Cathedral Ward?

This the exact shit that happened before I left for work this morning. I can't keep up with the thread at work on my phone so if you get answers, PM me please.

I am online,
I have 9 insight,

Is there special places to ring the bell ?!

*This never worked for me, I've played since release, and the spectre only worked a handfull of time.

Well since the suspend feature came into play it has been messing with online settings, try resetting your PS4. Outside of that all I can suggest is that you ring your bell and wait 5 minutes. I know I was having the hardest of times trying to do multiplayer till I reset my PS4.

Did you fight
Amelia?
, then you should have the
password for the password door
. I forget where exactly the door is though, I think it is in that graveyard area with the two giants

Yeah i beat Amelia, i can't think of the area you're talking about though, giants?

I haven't been parrying much lately because I've been using the 2H axe. However, I've noticed that when I do I mess up the visceral attack most of the time. What am I doing wrong? It makes the sound, I walk up and hit R1 and it just does a normal attack. I've tried doing this quickly and slowly, maybe the enemies I parried are just too far away and I'm messing up the timing?

Why would PVPing with this character be bad? Is it just an ethical thing? I just want to know, I still have my legit level 50 character pushing through to the 5th boss now :)

Yeah, pretty much. You'd be using a maxed out character with zero effort, which isn't AS BIG a deal as the game goes on, it only helps early on like now....so to PvP now with a duped, maxed out character would be super shitty (assuming you found an opponent)

....BUT, you'll have max resources every time. Your decisionmaking in combat will be different since replenishing your supplies is not a barrier. Burn through everything, it won't matter. It's free. Fire paper forever....!!

In the grand scheme of things, though, it's not the end of the world, but it would be worth a derisive snort.

So I CAN start a second character and not eliminate the first?

So this evening it is my intent to purchase the KirkHammer. Is it as badass as I imagine, or should I invest my echo's elsewhere?

Better than me, last night I kept hitting up on the D-pad thinking it would heal me.

I like it. Gives me a fast and slow weapon in one.

About a npc at the ward:

I keep eyeing the whore about her proposition but keep refusing it. Something doesn't seem right...

Man....lighting your sword on fire looks so fucking cool in this game. I didn't think there was a way for the boss fights to get any more hype, but using fire paper midway certainly does the trick.

Yeah too far away and/or too late is my guess.

I have reset my Ps4 numerous times, nothing changed.

I now realized my network settings were "local", changed them to "Worldwide", lets see if it fixes.

Anyway, I think I f*cked up...I killed the Coop-perator (or wtv hes called)...I thought he would drop something to open the door near the giant, and that heavy axe of his, he dropped nothing....

Guys, inside the prison.

Should I go upstairs and follow the path with the big pigs, or go through the back exit and fight the lighting beast boss?

That boss is to extreme for me at this point, I have no idea when I should attack, his patterns are to fast

Late game boss spoilers

Eb
rietas is kicking my ass, god damn. Gonna have to take her on later. So cool finding this fight though. I had an impression that there's only one boss fight per area and after the Emissary fight I was kind of done with this place. Would never have thought to break the window uncovering a secret area if someone didn't point it out to me.

So many amazing secrets. Goddamn.

I'm not crazy about it. I bought it after using an upgraded Axe, and I much preferred the axe. Better crowd control with the handle extended, and pretty powerful using the shorter version. I found the Kirk too have to small of a range, too. The Axe really excels there.

Ludwig's Sword is a beast. The charged attack on certain bosses absolutely wrecks them. Like, WRECKS them.

Paarl
went down in 15 seconds because of it. Felt so good.

Simple tips for those who usually run out of bullets or/and blood vial when hitting a wall on a boss:
1. Only go into a boss with no string attached aka no or small blood echoes.
2. Always use bullet blood. To recover health, preferably by hitting/visceral backstabbing an enemy rather than using blood vial.
3. If situation goes awry right on the start of boss battle (like down to 20% health), don't bother healing yourself. Try to dodge through attack instead and learn the boss pattern. Treat it like a training session with the boss :p
4. Remember to keep your head cool, keep at range with the boss. If the boss health down to below 50%, you got your tempo, and feel confident, go for it.

In short, use your consumables in moderation, don't chug a blood too easily.

Well there are somethings that you still have to worry about since you won't have all items duplicated, there is a holding limit but I completely get you. Also I feel that being around level 100 should net you some PVP players. It seems like most people are hitting 80+ when they are doing NG+

And yea you don't need to delete characters

I am so damned lost and the short cuts are making it worse.

I opened the side door in the 'tower' just before you get to the Blood starved beast. I can make it back to that side door but I can't figure out how to get back to where I was : P

I need to call for help on the BSB anyways, I am getting torn up.

Friggin' annoying, the game won't let me enter the area after the second boss since it isn't completely downloaded. And the download is sooooooooo slow.

I was using the hunter axe but after getting the great-sword and upgrading the fuck out of it I'm never going back. Shredding through most enemies easily.

If you go
upstairs, you will find a lantern you can use to warp back to Hunter's Dream. If you go around the area with the big pigs, one end will have a set of armor, the other end of that area will have a weapon (but it's surrounded by a couple of enemies.)
