I feel like Vicar Amelia really shouldn't be people's 4th boss unless you're really over leveled. Instead,
take a left just before the entrance to the Grand Cathedral and go through the witch area to level/get the rune tool and get a bunch of upgrades for your weapon (you'll be at +6 by the time you are done, probably). When you get back to Amelia she will go down in < 1 minute, if you haven't been losing too many souls
.

I feel like im doing something wrong. I never have the option to tell an NPC to go to a safe place. Is it something im missing? Spoiler tag it if necessary.

Is that the
forest area
? I went down there but it looked massive so I went back

VA is nowhere near as bad as thinking
Darkbeast Paarl
is the 4th boss since you get
warped right to the prison in the cathedral ward area if/when that thing kills you.

I fought that thing like 5 times before I realized I probably should just
try to escape from there.

It's not that difficult of a boss but it had me thinking I was due for an upgrade. She has a ton of health.

People should also stop referring to bosses as numbers as it makes no sense in the context of this game where you could fight boss "7" before you fight boss "4".

Like the Witch could be the 2nd boss you face in the game or she could be the 12th.

It's not THE forest area, but it looks like a forest yeah. It's not that big (the opening area looks big, and then it starts funneling off nicely). The most important thing is the rune stuff you get when you kill the boss of that area.

I think this happened to me at Cainhurst because I never saw him do anything but the same basic swipe and a projectile.

Happened to me today against the
Wet Nurse and I was fighting her the first time. Needless to say it was the easiest boss ever.

Yep. Those two for some reason seem to be the biggest offenders along with end game spoilers
the final boss. Really sucks cause their phase 2's are awesome and make parrying them much harder.

What is max insight? I am up to 72.

Well, how can we refer to them without spoilers?

No. You just need to join one Covenant for one of the achievement (specifically to get the Rune bonus you get from joining a Covenant).

Huh, I just assumed she was a complete cake walk. She disappeared at one point and came back down but nothing had changes. Used the same 2 attacks as before. Was it meant to be harder? It's a shame because the fight looks awesome. And I also wouldn't have minded it being tougher because the shortcut to the lantern was so close...

I think I'm done with this game. My ratio of fun vs. annoyance is way out of wack. I have no idea how I ever took the time to beat Dark Souls, but I'm pretty sure that game was much easier than this.

Just beat the W
itches
of H
emwick
on my first try without breaking a sweat.

This game is easy as hell. Lol

So far, CB on second try, Father G on first, BSB on first, Amelia on second.

I'm not even a Souls pro or anything, but I have no idea how some people are running out of blood vials and fighting bosses like 30 times.

BB definitely feels harder than Dark Souls for me. Feels more like Demons Souls but I assumed Demons just felt harder than Dark because it was my first experience

Are you locked on? I wouldn't be. As long as I was running those never seemed to hit me.

I tried everything - running doesn't always work. Not towards her, not away from her, not sideways. Same for sidestepping or rolling. Those missiles are a pain and need a nerf.

That's a fair point. I'm only doing it because other people are doing it lol

Suppose to be much harder. Second phase spoilerssss :
She unleashes a dark attack that makes it hard to see and summons a copy of herself and has new attacks.

I think the constant ratio of fun is on a bell curve. It's extremely high at times then it just drops. Don't worry though it goes back up fast. I had a few times where I got down. I've also had times where my hands were in the air fist pumping. Like tonight I lost about everything I had worked hours to get and I've had to take time to think about what to do next. I think it's normal. It's going to happen, but the reward is sure high. I think you'll see it eventually. It's just a way to look at things at the moment. I lost 46k echo that I was going back to get and I just died.

It's not a particularly hard fight but
she has a move that summons mist. After that she'll temporarily summon a copy of herself to attack you. She also has more than two moves, she's got an attack where she moves forwards while wailing all her arms, she can extend her arms to hit you from afar and probably an other or two that I forgot.

I was in the same boat as you more or less - hadn't died once to a single boss and them I found my roadblock. One that a lot of people are complaining about, more or less half way through the game.

Just happened to be low on health vials because of normal mobs. Didn't even realise until I suddenly saw that I'd spawned with only 7. Having to go and farm more SUCKED. And then I ran out of bullets for the first time ever before the FINAL BOSS. A little anti-climatic to have to return to an early game area just to get such minor items before the epic last confrontation. Weird busy work that the game really could use without.

Then again, I only missed like 2 optional bosses and completed the game in 20 hours. So maybe it was for padding? Who knows. I think the length is fine as is but it is uncharacteristically short for a Souls' game.

Whenever I'm frustrated, I just do a one-run grind to basically kill everything from start-till-wherever you last need to be deadly focused.

There's a fun in basically easily killing through areas that previously was 'kind of hard.'

Maybe some people have found this already, but I uploaded a video showing off what I think is probably the best blood vial farming route in the game. You can cap out at 99 in about 20-25 minutes depending on how fast you are.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FvSCHOiNzQ

It's way better than the normal route of running from Central Yarnham to Father G and then dying. Not quite twice as fast, but at least 50% faster.

I was trying to do the crow lady quest line but then the hunter I had to help her with bodied us both. Got the crow badge though so I can buy the burial blades and her armour.

Am I missing out anything else?

Where's B

A

instead.

Haha, oh wow. I got off lightly. It's CRAZY that this can happen.

Makes you wonder how many other bosses were holding back... Especially the ones I beat on my first try.

I definitely don't remember this many insta-kill or 40-60% damage attacks in DaS. Even O&S felt challenging but fair. This feels like I'm just supposed to dodge around like an idiot until there's an opening. The more I play I'm also missing the RPG elements of DaS, even though I rocked the Zweihander through most of that game.

I don't know, my first visit to
Old Yharnam
was pretty awesome but everything else has been pretty mediocre. The boss fights are the worst part of the game.

Me with most of the optional bosses

If you beat the hunters, there is one more quest from her and you get a rune. I think that is it.

He's not in the cathedral ward.
From the cathedral ward lamp, go out the left entrance and past the two guys is a staircase down. That's the path to where the BSB is.

Well, how can we refer to them without spoilers?

I like the route of naming and putting spoil bars on everything but the first letter of each word. People that got there can tell at a glance what it is and it stops people from uncovering something with no context that's late in the game.

Do you pretty much have to go through
Secret World
after you've beaten that invertebrate? I've beaten
witch, cleric, and BSB in addition to getting to nightmare land, but it's too hard
. Any other cool areas I can check out?
