What are my options at the point I'm at?

1.Got a door I can't open all the way at the bottom of the stairs past the giant with the ball and chain near some cliffs. 2.Door that I need a password for. 3.Gate in the small graveyard that I can't open right in front of the clinic at the start. 4.Boss in the cathedral. 5.Giant floating ghost thing in a huge cylindrical room that grabs you once you cross the room and instantly kills you (after climbing down a cliff face, fighting 2 giant axe wielding guys and killing two upgrade creatures.

Might have other options but can't remember where they are.

When do I get another good weapon for my skill build? I'm up to the fourth boss, and I'm still rocking the Cane, occasionally using the RifleSpear as second choice. I really want those dual blades, but I understand that unless I want to kill Eileen, I have to be able to kill the Spider boss which I'm aways off from, correct?

Basically just #4

GAF... I found what would make this game perfect by modern standards.

The door at the bottom of the stairs is the one I'm wondering about (and I'm much later in the game than you, Lol).

Anyone?

I don't get it the guy with an axe (in the corner) at the begining of the game, he is so hard to stun with a gun, I just cann't get it right. What is the tactic to defeat this enemy? I know I could use molotov, but how do you approach him without that?

Aaaaand I just killed a fucking NPC, great. What am I missing now that I erased the
human-head spider in the conference center
? I don't know the english name of the location, sorry.

Dodge at the right time. His axe spins are annoying though.

I don't think you can open that, at all.

remember the npc saying that they closed the bridge going to the Cathedral Ward? That bridge is obviously where you fight the Cleric Beast, there you can see another door closed, which connects to the one at the bottom of the stairs.

I have all the 6 keys but the door is still close so yeah.

How? I tried visceral attacks but they did terrible damage. It's way to risky and one combo of my sword does more damage...

Same. Even visceral attack with extended axe did almost nothing. I'm just going to ignore him unless he is important? You don't need that lantern anyway

Also, somewhere in cathedral ward there was this one character with little tentacles in his face, a bit like doctor zoidberg. But my extended threaded cane was doing almost no damage at all. Are some enemies strong against certain weapons or weapon modes (extende or not)? That was the first time I noticed such a massive difference in damage between two weapons,

My I ask for some tips?

I have not employed my new strategy yet, but where I think I messed up is
running in wide circles to avoid the meteors, instead of locking on and fighting the little spiders first and simply quick stepping at the right sound cue just before they start landing. Then just avoid the AOE attack once the second wave of spiders are gone and take Rom out.
That is my plan anyway, lol. Let's hope it works.

So I haven't progressed the game since doing a bunch of co-op after getting to Old Yarnham. I got from 9 insight to about 30. I'm a little terrified for what is supposedly in store for me with the insight jump.

Cool, thanks.

Just made it past the bonfire stuff, through the house, back to open that gate by the central checkpoint. Is this counting as a checkpoint again, or is opening the gate kind of a checkpoint? Can I go back to the hunter's dream and just come back and go through my new shortcut?

I just don't want all that stress to have been for nothing.

Once you open a gate it is open for good and the game saves it but you might want to go back to the dream, if you havent already, to level up some if you have a bunch of blood echoes

Got to R
om
last night, fought and failed it a couple times. There a new bug where items are not being retrieved from your storage after death anymore? And I seem to have lost all my Blood Vials...

its not the modes. its the damage types.

Agro him so he takes a big swing, run in after his swing and hit him. Rinse and repeat.

Back hits when he does smashes. But really, that dude is being placed there to teach you visceral attacks. I'd try to stun him until you get the hang of it. Shoot when his striking animation has already begun and is on the way down.

Does anyone know if I can ignore this guy for now untill I'm higher level? I don't want to fuck up the sidequest.
Eileen doesn't die
if you ignore him for too long or anything I hope?

I killed him by sneaking behind. Instead of taking stairs, I landed on house rooftop on his left. Did 3 times.

Any tips on leveling? I am level 24 and mostly been concentrating of vitality and endurance so right now am

Vit : 18
End: 18
Strength: 14
Skill: 10
Bloodtinge: 7
Arcane: 7

Mainly using saw cleaver. Just not sure if I should start putting levels into other stats now.

Aim to bump vit to 20 as your next step. Strength a point or two if you want to use strength based scaling. And a few points in End.

Strength weapons use a lot of stamina so vit and end are both really important.

So I beat Amelia and there's this path

to the right of the enemies with the frenzy poles and I found these two npc hunters one with an electric club and the other with a rifle, i beat them and there's more to the path, should i keep going down to face those big enemies with the giant axes or should i go to the old yharnam lamp and begin to explore that area now?

forgive.the dumb question im only 5 bosses in but will a chalice dungeon meta supposed to work. does it scale with levels.or only get harder based on the items put in?
