I'm rocking a Cane+4 and wondering what other skill based weapon options are out there. I don't mind pumping points into strength in the future, maybe a hybrid type weapon.

Just accidentally found a completely hidden area including a rune and messenger item

Spoilers ahead

Go to odeon cathedral, take the door on the right to the lift. Whilst riding the lift up dodge backwards and you should fall through a doorway

Trying to do co-op in this game is really annoying me. I can't even summon Alfred to fight the BSB (even though I talked to him and agreed to cooperate with him). Everytime I try to summon someone I sit there and wait for 20 minutes for nothing, wasting an insight.

GAF, help me to find my next goal !

So I cleared Hemwick, killed the witch.
Also killed Amelia.
Went the right path where you fight against two npc's, one of them has the bolt enchantment.
Then I went further, killed by an invisible spider, I think it was the one we also saw in the alpha. I know of Yhar'algul, but it's too scary and I don't feel confident enough against the enemies there. What should I do ?

I don't think so? I never did anything with her sidequest wise so I don't know what happens with her, but here is always NG! I'm using my first playthrough as basically a blind playthrough without trying to find every little secret or sidequest. Saving that for my NG+ runs.

Good point!

Yep, will carry on :)

Maybe you're too low. I think I was low 30 here or something (I forgot). That attack hit me once and it did about 60%?

Omg... I leveled to 30 and got him first try.... but it was pretty tricky. Almost died cause of his AOE ground pound. Lol finally.

Welp, I give up guys.
I have already spent an hour looking a way to get these 3 things.

1) The item above the blood ritual altar, the one with the big beast hanging in the middle of the cross. I used the gatling tower shortcut, but can only get 1 of the two items. I can't seen to make the jump across.

2) The item above the ledge in Nightmare Frontier. The item is below the spider that is hanging on the cliff side. This item is near the shiny coin pathway
where the spider pushed you off.

3) How do you unlock the door down the stair in the area where you get the Monocular and the chain weapon giant.
It is the door next to the treasure chest with the Tempering Blood Gemstone.

These 3 things are nagging at me, and my OCD is making me wasting my time in solving it.
I need GAF help =/.

Boss spoilers:
Rom's lock on crystals
is such a terrible move. How do you even avoid those? Ruins the whole fight.
They're not that good at locking on. Don't think they hit me once lol

I don't mind spoilers, can you list the name of the place that reminds you of Dracula? That's one of my favorite novels.
Cainhurst, which you reach from Charnel
. I've only just gotten there, but basically it's exactly what you described, but
in a creepy ghost carriage

I beat him yesterday without vials. Because I had none lol.

He's actually very easy. Just stay behind him, dodge his backward slash and blood AoE. He seems to have problems with tracking once you're behind him, not nearly as viscious.

You don't have enough insight to see his other moveset - he is much faster at targeting you and has more attacks. I didn't see any 360 attack in this video. Having more insight he has different movesets. The attack he does is almost impossible to dodge since he spins 360 degrees and attacks well outside your dodge zone. The best you can hope for is to take it to the face and dodge his next attack. I'm over 30 insight and he certainly wasn't that slow for me. His spin attack is a pain in the ass.

So staying behind him with more insight is not a viable option. I can't tell what the breakpoints are but 15 and 30 are the only numbers where I saw change in enemies and bosses. I haven't hit 40 yet so I don't know what is beyond.

leave the cathedral (amelia), follow the road down to the large square with tombstone and the two giants wielding axes, go right (with your back to the cathedral) and follow the stairs down to a new area
(Forest)

fuck
Forbiden Woods
is big, and when I got to the
snake
guys part, I was JUST about to ask "is there another lantern?" when BOOM, shortcut that leads right to the first one, thank god

Second boss spoiler:

Does the music box affect FG when he's in his final form or is it just the 'human' form that will stagger?

i was summoned by someone that used it and stunned him in his transformed state as soon as he finished turning. That was also the only time he used it in the fight.

Just got to the
forbidden woods
. I think I'm rather late though as the enemies here are a piece of cake. I just beat the rather aggressive
female vicar
. Am I headed the right way?

Streaming some attempts at Vicar Amelia, PLEASE help me out I have no idea what I'm doing with this fight

Advice is appreciated! FYI I am not using any items for these attempts until I figure out how to actually do some damage to her

yeah, I had some trouble with that boss as well. "Staying behind her' isn't easy at all (most common advice), she's a very mobile, fast boss. One of her attacks is like 300 degree effect, and it stuns you, probably taking off half your life.

What I did was, yes, the main goal was to stay behind her, but I found rolling (what your character does in directional evade when not locked on) to her left, under her main swipe attack to be more effective at getting behind her. When I was behind her, I'd sometimes swing the camera then lock on and hit her a few times. Locking on behind her helped me keep a good eye on where she was going next. When she moved, I'd unlock, roll behind her, and repeat. There's this move she has where she stays still and prays, preparing a big attack, that's when I'd get most of my damage in. But always make evasion a higher priority than damage output, because she can kill you very fast.

Also stay at full health the entire time, even if you have to use 20 vials for the fight.

Also found that the first time I passed there. Got 2 trophies out of it for picking up the rare rune.

Isn't the forest called Hemwirk charnel lane or do you mean something different ?

The best part about the weapon that I linked before is that it's actually really fucking good.

I don't know if I like this Insight system. I want to have higher Insight but they also sell nice stuff for it. Does it hand out more blood echoes at higher insight? I didn't check myself.

FUUUUUUUUUU

this hunter npc next to the
amelia boss fight
is pissing me off, I killed his lighting friend but this guy evade spams to hell and has a gun which shoots spreading bullets. Even his heavy alt weapon turns into a fucking rifle.

You can get behind him by dropping down from the top of the cliff onto the roof of one of the houses for a free sneak attack. You can also cheese him with poison knives and just run away while he ticks down.

After a good night sleep, decided to take on the G
attling Gun
H
unter
, and decided to do as someone suggested:
GO up and shot him off the biulding.

Well, I got up there, and when I was going to shoot,
he turned back and double shot me, makign me fell of the biulding and die.

SIgh...

My GF came home yesterday with a PS4 + Bloodborne on her hands. She has a place in heaven.

The nightly hunts officially began and by the love of all Gods...this game is beautiful and amazing.

Just beat the Cleric Beast ( first try, yay! ) and I'm just so happy * . *

Seriously, From Soft creates atmosphere like no one else in this business, it's just fucking amazing.

I went through a little of a "Souls adventure" when, while trying to avoid fighting the 2 werewolves on the bridge I took an alternative path and fell into some goddamn sewers...but I was able to fight through it and unlock the first shortcut to the bonlamp...man I was so happy and on the fucking edge of my seat through all of that...this is what a Myiazaki game is all about. Absolutely amazing.

Is there any word when the patch is coming through? I don't mind the loading times that much ( i use them to stretch and stand up for a bit ), but the incorrect framepacing messes with my eyes a bit and I'm hoping that they fix it as well..

Learn those I-frames and be aggressive. Realized that taking it slow and playing it like a souls boss was the wrong way to go. Don't give her a second to breathe, but know when to back off for her big swings. Gun is flat out useless in this fight so two handed weapons are a good approach.

I went with the saw spear as well. It's my go to weapon now after trying out some other weapons. Also, I might've gotten extremely in my run where I beat her because not only did she not heal, we both actually killed each other at the same time.

And for anyone that's wondering, it's not like Dark Souls 2. Killing a boss at the same time it kills you will still be considered a win and the boss won't spawn back.

Just killed my third boss, killed it on the second try. This game is just so memorizing, the art style, the monster design and that sweet ass kirkhammer. Despite the loading times, this game is just fucking incredible.

Also I defeated father Gascoine first and then defeated the cleric beast so I might of made it harder for myself. Anyone else did the same?
