Fuck it, VA is ridiculous.

I'm watching other people fight her and she's not doing half the moves that she does to me. Am I fighting a different boss?

All the videos I'm watching never show her back up, never show her foot kick/scratch you and she almost never combos her moves. Yet she is relentless with me. This makes O&S, Four Kings, whatever souls games have ever had look puny.

If anyone wants to put me out of my misery, level 30 and I've run the beckoning bell.
How much insight do you have, I think 15 and above trigger hard mode.

Sooo I killed
the Machine Gun guy
in Old Yharnam and now his drops are stuck in mid-air, somehow.

What can I do? I was hoping to get his weapon :(
just quit and reload his drop will be near his
gatling gun

So does anyone know how non elemental resists work yet?
I don't really understand how the different physical reductions work. Is physical supposed to be your base, generic reduction for blunt, slash and bloodtinge, while each of those can be higher independantly?
So what's the physical DEF stat above the elemental resists?

can you elaborate please?

From what I understand the invasions only work while you're actually in co-op and summoning someone. I saw it happen once as someone summoned me to fight a boss late in the game, but we were right by the fog gate and walked through anyway which kicked them out.

For those who are having trouble with BSB:
Talk with the NPC just outside thr entrance of Old Yarnham from the Cathedral Ward. He is just behind that building, his name is Alfred. Agree with his dialogue then go back to the BSB boss fight and on the way to the boss fight, on the right side of the path there is a message on the ground which says something like "ring bell to call for help". If you ring the bell on this spot you can summon Alfred for the boss fight! He will tank the boss head on all the way until the 3rd phase and basically allow you to go through a section of the fight without getting hit.

Wow, thanks dude!

Are fucking kidding me? Dammit. This boss is driving me nuts when in their second form. Sigh
Which one are you taking down first? I read people suggest taking down the fire thrower first, the sword and candle next, and the sword for last. They also recommend knocking off some health off each before killing one to make the fight easier.

Was curious about the rumors that insight changes difficulty so did a little experiment in
Cathedral Ward
:

Insight was 12, and cleared all the mobs in the area.

Used 8 madman's knowledge to bump insight up to 20.

Did it again and noticed the following changes-
  • The masked mobs with lanterns now have lantern attacks that shoot orbs. Lanterns have a visual change where they have little white objects attached all over the front like mollusks or something
  • The masked mobs with the giant three pronged stick weapons now have a red flame on their weapons, and maybe a new attack?

It did not affect what was available for sale at the insight shop. It also didn't add any new mobs or change any mob positions/patrol paths.

If you kill her in the graveyard I believe you can then buy them from the store in the hunters dream. However you will not be able to get her covenant rune when you meet her next and complete her task (the enemy you have to beat is very very hard).

Yeah the rune you get for completing that little story thread is pretty good. It
speeds up stamina regeneration. Also a pretty easy way to cheese that enemy. Felt cheap but damn I didn't feel like fighting against npcs who can heal.

Dammit, so no coop in that area cuz of a potential bug. Now I need to beat this boss solo. I fucking hate their second form. Maybe I should farm and level up some more.

I am level 28 and the last boss I killed was BSB.
Unseen city feel harder than anything before.
Am I at the right place?

That place is basically a beginner's trap. It's a late-game area and you're not supposed to go there yet. Try to find a lamp and teleport out of there, then continue normally.

Oh that's very cool. Like the npc summon signs from dark souls!

Is it just that bell I bough for one insight once the little Shop opened up in the hunters dream?

I tried both methods but their
snake forms are hard to dodge. The reach is insane.

Anyone want to help me with Rom? Password is in the OT. I'm right before the boss area. Psn: OldKingKratos

So the
werewolves
are also afraid of
Ludwig's Holy Blade.
. The little touches in this game are just amazing.

Also, what's the
black messenger hat
do?

Story spoilers:

If you don't open the shortcut and fight Iosefka until after Rom, she can be found on a table in her clinic. Killing her then awards you with an umbilical cord. It is then apparent that she is in labor and is trying to birth a great one. Or at least that was my interpretation. Haven't finished the game yet—just doing various optional things post-Rom

Oh yea I just realized, for anyone that wants to check how long they've been playing, just go to LOAD GAME in the Title Menu and it will list it. Totally forgot about this. Usually just select continue.

Maybe this was mentioned but I still see people asking about it.

what were the vit and end soft caps again?

VIT 50 (becomes 8 health per point afterwards)
End 40 (gives you nothing after 40)

I also had the same interpretation from her dialogue...the lore in this game is gonna be so amazing to dive into.

Killed BSB and VA in the span of about 2 hours, feels good. I feel silly trying to switch to the axe for those fights, short-form saw cleaver is stupidly fast and racks up tons of damage.

I ask again, is there any advantage to having high Insight? I am 99 in NG+ and just beat CB. I want to know for sure before spending all my Insights because if there is no advantage to having high Insight then I might as well use it.
