The
woods
have made me hate those damn dogs more than any enemy possibly ever in a Souls game. They are so damn fast and aggressive and appear out of nowhere. Sure, they go down in just a couple hits, but that doesn't help if two come out of nowhere and take you down before you can react. The fact that
pulling a leaver to open a shortcut also unleashes three more on subsequent runs
is also super evil.

So how do note appraisals work? When I read one I see that I can choose to rate it good or bad. That's cool.

But it doesn't seem to actually tell you if the other 11 appraisals agreed or not. So what's the point? Do ones really poorly rated disappear?

just dodge towards him to the side of his blade if he's using it; dodge backwards if he uses his hammer-like weapon

dude has a one hit KO spin attack that has like a 1 second charge and spans a third of the arena that he can pulloff randomly

it's bullshit during an endurance fight like this

I've killed 10 bosses, but I still don't know how to open the gate next to the Clinic, at the very beginning of the game.

Anyone help me out?

found it by going through poison area under the woods. there's a ladder that leads up to it.

Seems like GAF is starting to get more critical of the game. I hope it doesn't get out of hand. Bloodborne is certainly a great game but I've had a few issues with it that may seem really minor that hold it back from being on the same level as DeS and Dark Souls 1.

My issues (spoilers?):

- There's a lack of interesting NPCs. Why are so many behind doors? The ones that aren't don't seem as interesting as the ones in the other three games. I hope that changes in the second half. Also, I love NPC merchants. Buying/selling from an NPC gives you this weird bond with them that makes you care for the character more than you would have otherwise. The Bath Merchants are just so bland in comparison.

- Lack of environmental diversity and some wasted opportunities with Yharnam. I'd have liked to see more of the city instead of just the abstract city streets. Why not visit a hospital, a market, some homes, etc. I think there was a decision made in the development where they realized that it's just too costly and time consuming to make the large variety of environments seen in the other games in the series at the quality level they wanted. That said, each individual environment in Bloodborne really does look fantastic. If there's a sequel, maybe a bigger team could be put in place to fix this (assuming it doesn't become a Dark Souls 2 mish-mash.

- You seem to randomly pick up important items in boring places. It makes things a little less memorable. Also, lots of places/secrets that you think will reward you with a great piece of equipment or weapon end up just being forging material or some random item you can buy from the bath merchant.

- The pacing is a bit odd. You stay in Yharnam too long in the beginning. It would have been nice if they could have you go on 1 or 2 mini treks through something else before you get to the Frontier areas.

- The outfits in the game are great but I want more of them and more diversity.

That's mostly it. My issues aside, the game is still fantastic and a far more enjoyable experience than Dark Souls 2.

Credits rolling. Aww yiss.

How many times have you guys died by getting stuck on scenery and trying to dash?

I appreciate the detail but it's a pain when you're trying to weave around and you get stuck on a statue.

I've died to that more than once by getting combo hit and stuck in some scenery.

I agree that it's overdone to an extent, as much as I like the look of the game.

The shaded woods, stay left before going into the village(not by falling), from there you'll see a house where you can talk to someone through a window, behind the house there's a cave, in that cave there's a another cave with a ladder. Go up the ladder, you're there. From there you can open the gate and find the back door to the clinic.

Any tips? I couldn't even get close to him.

I was level 47 when I beat him so I dunno if that'll make a difference for you.

Move in close to him between swipes (take advantage of invincibility frames), try to stay under him while trying to focus on his legs which can make him fall down for a bit, giving you a chance to wail on him while he's down. You can also try to shoot him in the head with your firearm which can also bring him down if you time it right (I used Bone Marrow Ash during the last time I fought him). I also managed to get in a visceral attack on his head so that helped out too.

If he loses his electricity he'll run away to try to charge up again. Keep on him as he tries to get away and don't let him charge up.

Final time: 23:38:51

And that's with me fumbling about for a few hours. I can't imagine how fast it would be if I knew where I was going.

Has anyone been able to reliably coop yet? My brother and I were 44 and 42 each 7 insight trying with and without passwords while trying local and worldwide for like 30 or 40 min.

Yeah, I kind of want to hear if people are having this issue. I have no issue letting myself get summoned into someone else's game, but if I try to summon for help it doesn't work for me. Tried online with some people yesterday and today with passwords and nothing worked. Am I missing something or is the online messed up? Setting it to worldwide, btw

So I'm apparently at a point where I need to
purchase a key from the Insight fountain, but I'm not seeing it available to purchase. I have the item from Cleric Beast or whatever that's required but I don't see it available for purchase. Is it just because I don't have enough Insight? I have 12 right now.

Go to the forest lamp, cross the bridge, run along the left side of the level until you get to a house with a red lantern and a bunch of dog cages, go around the side of the house and you see a very well hidden cave, go in and run to along the left side (to avoid poison) until you see the exit on the other side (not the one immediately in front of you). From there it's pretty straight forward.

I got the bell that lets me get summoned it and I'm looking to help those just starting. How does it work? I rang my bell and nothing is happening.

I love FROM games. LOVE THEM!

But I am glad you took the time to point these things out. It is good to see constructive criticism.

Try hitting left and right directional in the shop to see different categories.

Sidestep under him and go for the legs. When he starts charging his bolt thing, remove your lock-on so that you can roll through the explosion. Technically possible with the sidestep but I found it much harder. It took me a few tries, but in the end staying under him was what won it for me.

Just once against BSB. I dodged and got stuck in a pillar then died shortly after.

So WTF, do your blood stains go away if you quit the game before getting them back? I made sure I know where I died while fighting the second boss and my blood stains aren't there. I was worried too because the same thing happened on the first boss. I never found my blood stain there. Or can bosses take your blood echos too? If so, that's incredibly stupid. It's one thing if just a regular enemy can get them but a boss? :/

Played for 1h

I was in bridge lamp, unlocked the shortcut for
Gascoigne

died 5/6 times

nothing so hard as to get some people crying about the game is for masochistic blabla, I'm sure this will be in my top 5 games when I finish it

Ok guys, Quick question. . . How do you know when you're being invaded? I got the bell ringing woman message, but is there a cue afterward to tell you an invader is on their way, or do they just show up?

I'm currently 2 (3?) hours in my break... and I'm getting the bloodborne shakes... I want to play...

You should get a notification it is looking. There is also an icon of a bell near your health bar of it is activelt seeking. No Insight is consumed, so try again.

err... boss spoiler
Rom
...what?

how exactly are we supposed to get past the million spiders to hit him. I mean I got him to about half, at which point there are so many spiders I cant find a opening to get in there, not to mention the ice (but that I avoided most of it)

what am I missing?
