I killed it with melee first try. It's hard to get the timing right to hit its head. But it's easy to avoid its attacks.

I am really enjoying the game. Think I'm at about half way.
My biggest issue is From's insistence on a complete and utter shit implementation of multiplayer.
I have absolutely no way of knowing if it's broken or if I'm just too high level to pull people in.
I use passwords and I'm within ten levels of friends who want to co-op and it doesn't work at all.
It's 2015. This kind of thing is fucking idiotic. I'm fine with needing to ring bells and such. If I need to jump through your hoops, at least make it work. I don't understand how and why it's a complete shit show with every single game of theirs.

Beating the game in 25-ish hours is hardly rushing through the game, people. I beat the game in 23-ish hours last night and I had to retread through some areas multiple times and even grinded for blood for a bit. It's a fairly short Souls game.

Nope, you get dropped back in Hunter's Dream like you do if you died on the first boss, except the second boss is after the fog door instead of the first.

Since you killed him, you got the reward already. Which is unlike other games where I think the loot remains until you pick it up
You got some chalice I believe, which I think lets you activate one of the tombstones that unlocks chalice dungeons
Storywise, just explore the Hunter's Dream and pay attention to the directions they give you.

Try deleting what? The character or the item? Because I can't delete the item - it's the bullets that's glitching out. And I can't see my bullets -anywhere- in the inventory, because it's glitched.
I read on reddit about deleting game file and downloading/installing it again...If this keeps up, if I keep discovering more and more bugs, I am going to retract my judgment of this game. From Software isn't Bethesda, so why does it act like it's a Bethesda game? Fix you fucking shit, idiots.
On top of this, my Internet, or PSN or whatever seems to be licking its own asshole right now because I can't log in to PSN to download the game. I guess I am not playing Bloodborne for the next two days.

So any reason to hang on to tons of insight? Bosses are getting a bit out of hand 50+ and I can no longer one shot them on the first try
Should I buy stuff to lighten my load? It seems everything went from wanting to kill me with their bare hands to straight up wasting no time to try and murder me with the kitchen sink. I did notice enemies change patterns as I kept going up in insight. Most melee are now super fast, rarely any downtime when I strike them, they can cast spells, fireballs, arcane.
I watched a few boss vids on The One and damn he's only using barely a few of the attacks that he uses when I fight him.
Am I making this harder than it needs to be? Should I buy some stuff using insight?
Sadly, even at 96, I feel like I'm well above it. Just keep going to get your platinum. I get the odd feeling we both need new accounts for pvp.

I'm very proud of this. New to the Souls series and I managed the first boss on my second attempt, although I had put in a few hours of levelling and learning the mechanics after he destroyed me on my first encounter.

with a rune you can hold more, but you put excess ones in storage, its in the building in the hunters dream immediately to your right when you go in, before the weapon modification table. when you die your stock of vials/bullets are replenished from there automatically.

Yeah...I need to take a break from Bloodborne for a bit. Besides the net code, everything else has been enjoyable.
The cluster fuck that the state of multiplayer is currently in is clearly by design. It was like this for Dark Souls and Dark Souls II. (I played Demon's Souls but I don't remember if it was a disaster.)
Just evolve already.
Is it a cultural, Japanese developer thing or is it just that From has it's head too far up it's own ass when it comes to multiplayer functionality?

was an interesting experiment for From Software? Not a difficult boss at all, but the set piece design of the fight itself was really amazing. It felt like a more scripted kind of fight, something you'd see out of a different kind of game, but it was a surprising change of pace.
It felt more like a story building/atmosphere boss fight rather than something that would challenge you.

Yep. Parries and charged back-stabs both work. Not sure about the ease and timing of the former except for his grab attack. The latter is difficult to pull off solo.
I counted how many times I died on each boss. Boss difficulty in terms of trouble they gave me on my first attempts:

You backstab the beast claw hunter to death. Seriously screw that guy. Then have them chase you around the staircase while poking the other two with your holy blade
Arcane is only worth it if you put an elemental gem in your weapon in which case the weapon IGNORES your Str/Skl scaling. Ludwig gives you the option of doing either Arcane build or Str/Skl build... NOT BOTH!

Only one cord drop from a boss, the wet nurse. The others are: in a certain area, you can pick it up. For the two others you have to do specific things in order to get them. That's for the true ending, and yes if you kill Gerhman you'll be forced into NG+
Use the flame sprayer, you can kill those wolves on the way to her from the shortcut for easy bloodstones, upgrading it to +3. Makes the fight insanely easy.
