Upper Cathedral Boss spoilers

Finally beat Ebrietas. This has been the hardest fight in the game for me by far. I'm stunned that people aren't having an issue with her. She has a ton of moves, the double hit attacks and delay headslam can catch sloppy dodges, and they have huge hitboxes, and she has a lot of health (well at least compared to the damage I was dealing). Her AI also decides to not use moves sometimes too which leads to kind of random fights. In my final fight she ended up never using the laser once and she only charged once. Earlier tonight she would charge over and over or use the laser while I was caught on her tendrils or something. Done with it now at least, and it's optional, so I'm pleased. Can finally continue on.

Going to the right path of Ward Cathedral where there are two enemy hunters and a cave and you get to what looks like a Boss arena, there's some invisible massive Beast here, but he does not shows up until I stand near the wall and he grabs me then 1-hit kills me, is there something I'm missing here, or am I just supposed to have a lot more health/defense to tank his grab attack?

Thanks guys!

You need a special item for that area. It's found in F
orbidden
W
oods

Whew! 10 hour Sunday gaming marathon done. Havn't binged like this on a game since, well, Dark Souls, lol. Anyway, started the day by taking out that damn clock tower machine gun guy, worked my way down and cleaned up the area. Was able to get a buddy in for coop on BSB but I probably could have taken him solo. Then, worked my way all up through Cathedral Hall and the elevator with the wheelchair guys, maing my way down to mini Taraus Demon and looped back around opening the gate. Onwards up to the 4 boss but heard about passage to the witches. Cleared out all that area and got 2nd witch down to 1/4 health and died. Done for the night. Got so much loot and whatnot it's going to take me an hour after work just to go through it.

As for the online coop, anyone else having issues? I got a buddy in for BSB and then went to his game and helped him beat it. Every other time, though, my bell just rings and rings. We have tried everything: using worldwide with password, without password, local, I ring first as summon then they ring as helper, then vice versa. Ring as we stand in same spot as each other then ring across the map. Never worked except for that one time. Really sucks as I have 2 friends who are playing and we all make progress together. Would love to easily jump in and out for bosses.

Go back later.

You need a Tonsil stone for him to take you somewhere. You get one randomly by talking to people through doors/windows. Oh, also, that door opens later, you'll see it in a cutscene. I think its after Rom the spider thing

Today I barely touched the infamous OY gunner and he jumped off the ladder side and killed himself. I guess he knew I was overleveled.

I had the biggest issue with that damn charge move. Once I figured out how to dodge that I fought her more at a range and looked for that headslam attack as you can punish it hard.

The dream™ was getting behind her in that split tentacle thing and popping bolt paper to do serious damage. But yeah, she has a lot of moves. I only saw her do this flying slam attack once and it happened the time I beat her, scared the hell out of me.

Oh, nice. How do I find them?

For the first head left of the area VA is in to reach a new area where a really, really easy boss is. For the second one get killed by one of the enemies carrying sacks and then
explore the second floor of the area that you reach
.

Was the toughest in the game for me too.

That's the hardest fight for me, also.

I'm zoning in from the Yahar'gul Chapel lamp. The Hypogean Gaol lamp is limp and flaccid so it looks like I have to take the long way.

Follow up to my previous post
To be clear, you know you can stop the group of enemies in your way from respawning, right? There's a bell keeper in the corner. Then you can lure the other guys up to the cathedral lamp.

Ludwig's Holy Blade

H02Ma1J.gif

It's so damn good.
I think it might actually be my favorite weapon out of all the "souls" games

How in the fuck do you avoid the aoe Micolash shoots out? Also, what is the point of elemental res against attacks if it does almost FUCKING NOTHING.

Damn, summoned a random for Daughter and he died before me. Got her down to 1/4 left.

Anyone wanna jump in to help? I'm 78

If I put a blood gem on my weapon slot can I overwrite it in the future? Do I get my gem back also?

Yes, you can equip and unequip as often as you'd like. I often replace gems with better versions, such as a +2.1% attack gem with a 4.2% attack gem. If you have a lot of +0.7% gems, just sell off most of those since they're super weak.

Ha, I got to that area a while ago and nope'd the fuck outta there.

Can I just avoid those guys and explore?

I had the timing down on the charge move at first but I lost it lol. It has a huuuge hitbox and tags you if you run or dodge wrong really easy so I just kinda took the L on that. I'm impatient as well so I chose to mainly circle-strafe rather than wait for her AI to do the headslam.

I had a hard time getting into the split tendrils consistently but I did notice it was a good spot. She still has two moves that hit back there so I tried not to use it too much. I never even saw the flying slam and I've fought her a bunch of times. So many moves...

I was one hit away from winning and died. I was so salty. Gonna try again tomorrow. Lasers arent an issue for me. The charge attack is the only thing stopping me from winning. It hits you like a train and I can't figure out a way to dodge it consistently. Every other attack is easy to avoid. If she didn't have so much HP it would be a cake walk.

Just beat it,
just beat the first hunter. What a badass. No idea what the final choice meant, but shit that was a cool fight,
Favorite souls game, favorite game. Its great.

Micolas
shoots out? Also, what is the point of elemental res against attacks if it does almost FUCKING NOTHING.

Dash towards him, the i-frames get you through it.

And yeah I swapped to a set just for resistance and the damage I took was still fucking crazy.

Does anyone know if killing P
aarl
early screws up any sidequest progression?

I believe that doing that early actually turns a hostile hunter non-hostile.

I think Mechanized just posted the name of a boss without spoiler tags on this page =

He did but it probably doesn't mean much tbh. Not saying it's okay to do so but I don't think it'll impact your playthrough at all.

The reason is
like 95% of the bosses are just dropped on you with no real relevance to the plot.

Apparently run in to avoid it, but I found it much more effective to just stay on him, keep hiting him and keep in his face and he doesnt seem to use it as much/at all

i heard ludwig's is actually an arcane based weapon? i haven't put any points onto arcane yet... is it still worth using with low arcane?

I made nice with
Djura.(gatling gun hunter) Then I backstabbed him.

So whats the deal with that...I did the same but then I climbed back down the ladder and his buddy started attacking me and then he starts shouting about how I deceived him. smh.

Reposting cause I'm desperate: If anyone would be willing to help me beat Rom I'd really appreciate it. I've been stuck on him for hours, and whenever I ring my bell I rarely find anyone :/

Looks like i'm stuck. Help me !
I've beaten:

Cleric beast
Father Gascoigne
Blood-Starved beast
DarkBeast Paarl.

Dont know where to go now...
