Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

Yes I know the Mario Amiibo is in a regular Amiibo package inside the box.

However, being the completionist and OCD collector that I am, part of me wants to keep the sealed bundle as part of the collection to make it a true full collection.

I'm so glad ours came without seals.

Possible Wave 4 Release Date for NA

TRU employee on Reddit is stating they have a bunch of Toad stock they can't release until May 3rd, 2015.

In previous Waves they have held back stock for Captain Falcons and such when Wave 3 launched and such. Hrmmm....

Could just be a promotion. That would be next week's ad, which is way too soon for Nintendo to just say "hey wave 4, friday bitchesssss"

They'll want to promote it and have big deals and signs out. Likely, TRU is doing it for some other reason, maybe just a random little nintendo promotion?

EDIT: Woops, never mind. Can't keep track of dates lol
I guess it wouldn't be too far off, and really they could have a direct mentioning it sometime soon, preorder cards go up a few weeks before.

So NA isn't getting any preorders?

We don't know, but I highly doubt they'd do something so drastic...right? ;_;

Every time I pass the glass case that contains my Gold Mario Amiibo, I can feel it calling to me, begging me to open it.

I think that neither the Smash bundle nor the MP10 bundle I got had a seal...

Solved this by opening them. Toys are meant to be played with.

Glad to hear! Keeping them in their boxes sucks the life out of 'em for me. Their only virtue in that state (again, for me) is that I could sell them, at which point I'd have to ask myself what the hell was the point in buying them in the first place? I bought the ones I bought because a lot of what hooked me into games is my experiences through those characters, and I wanted to display that about myself in my home. And I plan to keep them as an integrated part of my interior design for a long time to come. But in their box, they just look like a trendy collectible commodity, just like beanie babies with their tag protectors and clear display boxes, with similar fates of being stuffed in the attic or closet by this time next year when the demand in the secondary market is all but gone, and Meta Knights can easily be bought for $10.

Mine are still all in the box because I just don't have a place for them. I'm in a apartment with two other roommates which sucks... As soon as I get my own place I'm displaying these things out the box in the living room lol

I've never been Platinum before with Nintendo Club, yet this year I found a way... on the off-chance they have some Amiibo related item as the reward. >.>

Man, I just got into a relationship and things are going great. But money is definitely tight. Getting two of each amiibo is not helping at all. She actually knows about my little amiibo hobby and she finds it cute, and while I enjoy it, I'm starting to notice how much money I'm burning trying to collect these things. I feel like I could spend this money on more productive things like dates on the GF or even saving to get something better in the future.

Idk, I need someone's perspective on this!

I have recently lost all interest in Amiibos. This is the first time I've checked this thread in weeks. The craze dying down?

I have my Gold Mario still in the package that I ordered and I'm thinking about just selling it.

When wave 4 drops, I'm just going to casually buy whichever ones I can. I'm tired of fighting this battle.

I definitely feel less crazy about the whole thing at this point, but I plan to see my collection through to the end. I'm not going for a full Smash Bros collection anyway, so I was never as hardcore into it as some other folks.

I'll still pay whatever it takes to own Lucina and Robin, in any case.

Just tell her at least you are not buying beer and cigarettes with the money, or gambling it ;)
