SONY exclusive marketing rights!

ok trailer

lmfao

Have you guys not watched a video game trailer over the last five years or something? Pretty much every major AAA release has this. CoD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Madden, etc. This is standard procedure for co-marketing deals.

I think he meant that rejoicing about it was embarassing, and I happen to agree. The consumer does not win anything with 3rd party exclusivity buyouts. It's good for Sony though (just like the COD thing is good for MS).

As per the co-marketing stuff, yeah. It's a sad state of affair, but you fight fire with fire I'm afraid (COD annualized co-marketing among other things).
I just really hope that Sony didn't buy a 3rd party temp exclusivity outright to fight Tomb Raider at the end of the year, we got enough of that BS happening already.

"In-Engine" has become the new politically correct term for "CGI": Pre-rendered in-game assets with enhanced pp effects is still CGI, developers!

Uhh, if it isn't prerendered and it is in the engine, made by the same team. Then it's accurate. Does it have the potential to look worse at launch? Obviously. Welcome to game development. But it looks like that now and that's all we have to see.

The Order's INENGINE trailer also got a lot of shit, but it still looked just as good (if not better).

Then again, we have the Order so...wow, if it comes out looking that good at 60fps. I'm not into shooters, but that would be one I would look into. Here's a list of shooters I've played over 2 decades.

Goldeneye 64
Time Splitters
Halo
Warhawk
Destiny

Make be a believer EA!

What's so hot about this btw? I understand the trailer looked great but come on, no way this game works day one with 40 players at 60 FPS. I just won't believe it before I have the game in front of me. I haven't seen gameplay yet, just the equivalent of a R* in-game movie editor that is doctored to hell. Call me sceptical, but I'm still not hyped for SWB.

Exactly, some people are too indigent and act like this is the first game to do this... and act like we've had info on this game prior to the trailer...

I don't know how to feel about it. I will buy it probably because I love Star Wars and it will look great on PC, but I don't feel that it is something that I will play too much

If this game needs to be delayed into 2016, they better not let the movie release in December stop that from happening...

This looks amazing, my fanboy hype is off the charts! But BF4, and BF hardline....................... AAAAAAAAA!

Also, I'm having a hard time believing those are actual in-game graphics.

The trailer is very appealing but like most I am very disappointed there is no real gameplay shown, which makes my caution lights flash red.

Really getting tired of game trailers showing little to no gameplay whatsoever. It doesn't help that EA has an INFAMOUS history of bullshotting "in-engine" footage. Whatever, I'm just more concerned about how the thing will play... crossing fingers for bots!

Its the FIRST trailer, calm down. There will be tons more come E3

Devs explicitly said they were targeting those visuals and made very conceivable effort to showcase that. Pre-rendered is pre-rendered whether it uses game assets or not.

Impressive, most impressive.

Do we know what this was running on? I'd assume a high-end PC with these graphics. The PlayStation co-marketing is a huge win for Sony, PS4s are going to be flying off the shelf if they pull this off. I actually like that the player count is 40, 64 seems to hectic with the maps DICE tends to design these days. I'm cautiously excited (just like the movie) but this could be Star Wars's glorious return to video games.

Game engine pipelines have become such that they can produce CG-like visuals without the need of outside tools. Good for them, it's meaningless. CryEngine could do the same.

If they were doing something truly amazing they would have shown what the actual game looks like.

I honestly don't care if the game doesn't end up looking like that. The fact that we're getting AT-ATs, Y-Wings, X-Wings, etc is more than enough for me.

Solid netcode, no buggy and I'm sold. There's no way I'm pre-ordering though. Waiting for post-launch reviews and GAF impressions. Also keeping an eye on DLC/Season Pass bullshit.

Shinobi, I hate to call you out. But posting hype based tweets from people has only lead to trouble in the past.

The chance of the PS4 version looking like the trailer or the screenshots posted is very low for a lot of reasons.

wasn´t Shinobi the guy who said that The Order would have open areas, and wouldn´t be a corridor shooter? we all know how that story ended...

some guys never learn.

Just saw the trailer, i really doubt it'll looks like that, even on PC, i'm playing Battlefield Hard Line maxed out on PC right now, frostbite engine looks great on that game but that trailer it's too much, my bet is downgraded gameplay demo at E3...I hope to be wrong though

Looks amazing, and happy they are locking it at 60 fps.

I don't doubt that that is all in game assets, but it's clearly been pre-rendered. There is no way that is real time footage running at 60 fps.

Regardless, the game looks awesome and I can't wait!

I don't expect it to look quite as clean, but I expect it to look awesome.

Hopefully with them leaving the PS3 and 360 behind now that they can actually concentrate on getting better looking games out of Frostbite 3. I mean, I know there is a certain style that different games use, but hardline looks really rather plain, especially considering it feels so much smaller than BF4, so hopefully Battlefront will look amazing.

Neat trailer, but legitimately in-game footage (not just in-engine) is what's the most impressive, honestly. The same perspective you'd get playing the game. Even rehearsed, somewhat scripted stuff is what gets the true hype

This is DICE and EA

There WILL be bolt on DLC maps which you can buy in the Premium package like in BF3/4/Hardline for $60

I 99% guarantee it
