Man, Ebrietas can get fucked! Hardest boss for me since BSB. I'm on my like 9th attempt.

I can get him down to 1/3rd really easily, but once he stops dropping his head as much I get wrecked.

Anyone got tips for Fr. Gas in beast form. I can pretty much get him to beast form easily without taking a hit, but then he demolishes me. The camera work is shite in this game and the transition from locked, not locked it awful. But I feel you need to do it when finding a new fight area for his second form.

Anyway, I've tried dragging him to the top of the stairs and fighting like a rush to each end of the walkway. He's always left at like ~10% health before killing me. Frustrating as I know I'm not getting something about this. I've tried using the music box but fuck me that takes ages, it's just not worth the risk. When he gets one pummel in, he just juggles you to death. Stats are I think 15 VIT, 16 END, 16 SKL which I've levelled. I'm at level 21 overall.

Using threaded cane +2 and blunderbuss for info.

Also, where can I see how many bloodshard I have on my person, they don't seem to appear in my inventory or else I've missed them. I'm not far off TC+3 but dunno if I need 2 or 3 shards......when I'm grinding vials.

Here's the strategy:

Gascoigne can be parried in it's first form, which might be pretty helpful, however, I find it easier to just attack him when he's getting ready to attack, as this will break his animation.

Keep your distance, not because he is dangerous, but because he attacks A LOT, making it easy to connect a few hits once he completely misses you.

When he transforms, use the Tiny Music Box. It will distract father G, leaving him open for a fully charged R2 followed by a visceral attack. He's pretty fast in the second form, so you'll need to dodge his attacks. Wait for the lunges or jump attacks to retaliate.

OR you can go for this glitch and end the fight in 10 seconds:

It's a really good boss battle though, so you should defeat him the legit way

Just arrived and wow this thing is awesome. Better than I even imagined

Anyplace to buy this in store yet?

If anyone is having trouble with the 3 hunters in Y
'Arghul
I found a great way to cheese them!

Get them to follow you down the stairs to the bottom level. On the right hand side of the room there is a gate you can close, trapping yourself inside. Then extend your weapon and carve them up!
. They were real bastards, so no regrets.

Been doing this and they still kill me. Bastards indeed.

Bloodborne makes me scared of things Im not normally scared of at all.....
Snake
Forest..... shudder.....

Oh and I love Bloodborne version of
The Fly

Well, I have heard of
Eileen
but never ran into her until now. I already killed Rom and found her at
The Oedon Chapel
. She attacked me so I put her down and I got the
Crow hunter badge
. I guess I missed a couple steps in her quest so that's why she attacked me. So, I guess there is no way to get the
hunter of hunters covenant now huh?

I posted the pic of the guide literally 3 minutes after it arrived at my door step, so not much chance to read it yet.

One thing I saw that I haven't seen talked about yet is from the Miyazaki interview, it's in reference to the Wooden Shield, "it becomes more important the more times you play the game" or something like that. Maybe it isn't always as useless as it first appears.

So
Rom
is handing me my ass. Currently level 64, can't tell if I'm under/over-leveled. Gonna take me a few tries to git gud at this one. XD

Seriously though, F-
Rom
. Heh,
F-Rom. From.

It's not useless, it has 100 damage reduction against blood damage. Maybe Arcane too? I haven't tried it against arcane or elemental damage.

I decided, after dying a billon times, to go after
Ebriates
with the Tonitrus.

Holy shit. If you equip gems with lightning and then use the lightning buff on top of that it destroys her. I was doing so much more damage.

NG+ once again
Vicar Amelia is like a brick wall, it is the only boss I can't solo, so funny I hear people complain about Rom, for me this is like so much harder :-(

Eh I never really played NG+ in a souls game but I'm not really feeling it...

It sucks just getting your shit kicked in again by basic mobs

Well, that and there's no new loot, so I don't see any point either. DS2 is different in that respect I believe because some drops only happen in NG+ or leveled up bonfires.

It's supposed to be harder but a lot of people tend to find NG+ easier because the attack patterns never change. It's just more HP and damage. I found my NG+ of Dark Souls a lot easier than my first play through. Will play NG+ in Bloodborne in a few months time but I assume I will find it a bit easier.

Wow, Ihyll is a complete pushover compared to Defiled. I steamrolled through the first two bosses and that last one doesn't look very tough (got her to 10% on my first try).

Yeah I was disappointed about that too, how there's virtually no difference in content in NG+. I noticed the two enemies right in front of the grand cathedral (Vicar fight) had blood enchants on their weapons, something I don't remember seeing in NG, but I think that was just because I had max insight.

In Bloodborne enemies have an expanded moveset in NG+.

I thought that was based on insight and since your bound to have an incredibly high insight in NG+ you wouldn't notice it.

EDIT: Any good farming stuff for chalice ritual supplies? I'm on the 3rd pthumeru chalice and it requires sacrificial blood (3) which I can't find anywhere in the dungeons except maybe 1 snatcher who drops it occasionally =/

Do they? Honestly, I didn't notice any new moveset.

Regular mobs don't, it's mostly bosses.

The biggest difference is that the bosses would wind up for an attack, but then cancel it & do another attack (in single player), in coop they'd wind up trying to attack player 1, but then immediately turn around & attack player 2.

Tell me more. My +9 Ludwig with bolt papes really isn't doing enough...

What level are you? I had a +8 Ludwig with bolt papers and they seemed to be enough. However, my stamina for that fight was like 138 due to having the 10%+ rune...

I just waited until she slammed her head into the ground, charge attack, V-Attack since that stuns her. When you get openings just try to attack her from behind.

Does anyone around level 70 just want to go-op with me for Ebrietas? I'm over it. I think he's just a really hard boss for a Blade of Mercy build.

72? She just does me in with that laser every fucking time.

How do I
open the gate in Cathedral Ward
, the one by the
Huge Axe Beast
?

The easy way is buying "the badge" from the shop. You can alternatively open it by dropping down from the
healing church workshop
& taking the elevator from down there to the opposite side of the door to open it from the other side.

Okay when the lasers start what I did was target the head and dodged non-stop this is why having a lot of Stamina is important.

I have a video of me beating her somewhere... its not great but it shows the dodging I am talking about.

You have the best dps weapon in the game, get behind her, & more importantly, don't put a long distance between you & her.
