Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Wonderful folks.

I'm finally at the last Boss fight (True ending - I completed the other two through a backup usb file).

Just wondering if there is anything that I need to be aware of or knockout before proceeding.

- I'm level 98
- I beat every optional boss available
- Made contact..
- Only unlocked the first chalice dungeon (I expect that my other *non-key* materials will carry over) and I can create new dungeons in NG+.

Question
Outside of leveling up further, is there anything that I may want to consider before proceeding?

All enemies here take less damage head on. Whoever you choose to attack make sure to circle around to their sides or back to do more damage. I usually just rush
Rom.
Don't get too greedy, roll out after a few hits to avoid
spiders if you haven't dealt with them.
Look upwards to see the
starfall attack incoming so you can dodge it easier.
I prefer to move forward towards the boss when dodging this attack.

Wow this game is dead, over. Jesus christ, everything figured out in like 2 weeks? Man oh man this is so disappointing. :(

There really wasn't a ton to figure out this time around. The vast majority of the it is surprisingly straightforward for a Souls game. Maybe that was their goal with making it a separate series.

You have the best dps weapon in the game, get behind her, & more importantly, don't put a long distance between you & her.

I have such a hard time figuring out how to get behind her without getting whacked. I find the approach of waiting for her to drop her head and attacking that much more effective. I just have trouble with the last form.

There is a wooden door where a bloodgem is in the cathedral ward down below some steps, is there a way to open it?

Noticed also there is a large bridge connecting to the other side across from the cathedral ward, wonder if that is a future DLC area?

Nope I asked the same question, it was a shortcut that was removed from the final game.

Did some coop in Mensis and an invader tried to
kill us with his spider friends.
Normally, I feel bad when using the cannon during PvP, buuuuuut...

I had trouble with this one. take fire paper with you and an oil jug.

clear out the spiders when they spawn the first time. before you try attacking the boss, activate fire paper, then toss a jug at her.

Go to town, hitting as often as you can, even when the boss begins to disappear. I knocked off a full half of her HP this way.

she'll reappear elsewhere, spawning more spiders. ignore them and book it straight to her this time, making sure your fire paper is active. if you hear the rocks/ice/whatever it is coming, just roll through them and keep going. Take a couple hits on the boss, then back off. Just keep moving, the spiders are SLOW to react to you. after a couple of shots she'll teleport again, but should barely have any health left.

ignore the new spiders, and just run in for the kill. she'll drop quickly.

Man, Arcane build is another fun build to play with. I just stand there and burn vicar amelia to death, only use one vial and that is for blood bullets!!!

Thought I'd go for the platinum on this game, but the Defiled dungeon is really getting old. Can't beat the first boss after idk how many tries. She would normally be easy as hell and a fun fight, but here, she always just one-shots me. It's feeling like work, and I'm not enjoying it at all. Bleh.

Back to helping others with bosses until they patch the boss elevator glitch, I guess.

Killed Rom. Finally! And he was so easy, no idea why I struggled so much. Basically, just don't overthink it and don't rush it.
From the start just do what you would assume to be the 'right' way to do it; kill all his spiders. Hit them side on, take them all out and then whale on Rom. After the first wave when he rears up on his arse end start rolling at an oblique angle and you'll dodge his blue missiles fairly easily. Again, just take out the spiders before going for Rom. Simple. No spiders means loads of time to hit Rom, no getting snagged, no sudden attacks to look out for.

I kept trying to ignore spiders and go straight for him, never worked. The above way, did it in one, level 49 with a +6 Tonitrus and about 40 insight.

Dunno, makes it feel empty. I mean the game is souls through and through, with faster combat and better graphics. I don't get that their goal would be to make a better action game with less content than souls but not as good as pure action games like the DMC series. It has all the defining traits of a souls game but lacks a lot of depth when it comes to loot, build diversity, play style, etc... There's no real reason to do NG+ other than the challenge. Weapons just go to +10, the elemental choices are almost non-existent or require hours of grinding through chalices just to get a single weapon with the right slots, enemy resistances don't even make sense as it encourages the type of variety you cannot get through normal play or only see at endgame. If they don't plan on doing expansions with tons of loot, more interesting armor, expanded combat, actual useful magic, etc... I'm not interested in Bloodborne as a series. I really do not like this direction toward a stripped down experience.

So what's a patch gonna do to fix that for you?
Make it so there's less input lag hopefully.

With the very limited magic there was no reason to hide it,
executioner's gloves are unbelievably useless, like seriously, there's no point, they do jack shit for damage against both players and enemies yet I have 25 arcane.
Upgrading weapons should've at least changed their appearance as well as that would've helped top not make it feel repetitive for subsequent playthroughs.

I finally beat that boss last night. But the lair 2 one is even worse. I threw in the towel and sold the game in amazon as going for the platinum news making me like the game less--which is why o generally never chase trophies.

I got back most of what I paid for the game (since I bought woth GCU at Best Buy), and will buy it digitally if there's some really big DLC (I.e. 10+ hours) for it down the road.

The easy way is buying "the badge" from the shop. You can alternatively open it by dropping down from the
healing church workshop
& taking the elevator from down there to the opposite side of the door to open it from the other side.

Yup, I saw the open door when I came in from a different side... never noticed it before.

Based on the guide discussion, this really is a pretty straightforward game, huh?

damn, so close to beating a boss on my first attempt

that damn enemy hit me with his long range Dhalsim snake attack at the end, killed 2 of those ghosts , next time im going for the fire guy first, hes annoying.

Started my arcane build yesterday. I heard A German Spy call it a 'garbage stat' in his latest video, is it really that bad? The spells are no good? Ludvig's gets A scaling so I hoping that will give good dps at least

Wow that's really disappointing :(

Yeah I'm sad. Soo much content in DS2, even excluding the DLC.

Bloodborne is amazing, but we've been spoiled content wise by previous Souls games. Not that Bloodborne is a short game, far from it, but it's not crammed with as many secrets and covenant goodies.

Somehow managed to cheese the fuck out of Ebrietas.
She did her charge attack and ended up stuck behind a fallen pillar, so she couldn't move. I was able to just wack away at her until she died.

That fight was a bitch, so I don't even care. I'll do it legit when I do a NG+.

I don't have any input lag..............
You definitely do, whether or not you notice it is up to you but when the framerate is dropping due to too many things happening at once there is more input lag. Like against
one reborn.

I have an arcane build, and aside from the element of surprise most of the spells and attacks are garbage, at least when you have 25 arcane.

Well, I'm at the very end.
Think I'll leave it at that for a while and do all the Chalice Dungeons that I can, prep myself for NG+ and then go for the finish.
Playing through this game was nothing short of glorious. Clocking in at 52hrs at the moment (out of which ~10hrs were spent in the CDs).

Question: If you are right in front of the boss area of C

is there any way to get back to the lantern or do I just have to go into the boss area and pray for the best?
