It's a definite change to the move though not a big one.
Yeah, it's not a massive change, but it's a change nonetheless. I would say that it's at least proof they're tweaking Nero/Dante some, and not just leaving them completely as is.

Gives me hope that they'll have no height restriction on their moves and stuff.

There's definitely a change there, since he goes at least one extra spin's worth of distance, which gives me hope that Nero and Dante have legitimate changes to their moves/properties.

That's a helpful demonstration. Man, I wish the video were clearer.

I'm hoping the mid-spin pause either allows him to cancel the Streak or redirect the Streak so it changes direction. That would give it a little similarity to how Vergil's DT Rapid Slash moves in three directions back and forth.

I noticed that they have the "Devil Trigger full" sound from DMC1 whenever Vergil creates a Sword Formation. It's been a while since I heard that sound.

that's how it was in vanilla, except replace "dude comes in with Helm Breaker" for "dude comes in with Hammer".

dante players once had it good, man.
 
Looks like I was wrong about lady. I thought she'd be doing long range combos and stuff. What a missed opportunity for a cool character.

Come on, man. Have a little faith. There's so much left to explore with her. Can't you tell from the few moves that they showed? That video was them mostly spamming DT grenades and rockets from a mile away. They didn't even show any aerial attacks at all.

They showed us nothing of the character and I'm already excited about what she can cancel to and from grapple, and what other grapple variants she has. Her grapple is basically Hightime from a half screen away.

So how many Street Fight references are there in this game? Dante has Shin-Shoryuken, Vergil has Shoryureppa, and Trish has the Spinning Bird Kick. Are there anymore?

Btw, can anyone gif the Trish's SBK?

Oh, gotcha. That'd work better if Hammer was also an option select air throw. And if Dante actually got anything decent off an air throw solo.

Damn, it is 13 frames. I don't know why I thought Vergil's Helm Breaker was 10 frames. I could have sworn it was.

Real Impact is Ryu's super.

Meteor is a one handed Hadoken.

Tornado off of Real Impact are the Hurricane Kicks from SF.

Nero has Final Atomic Buster as a Devil Bringer move on Gold Angelos.

Rising Sun is sort of like a Flash Kick.

Yea true we havent seen everything. I'm excited to see what you guys come up with when the game comes out.

Speaking of SF stuff in DMC im pretty sure Royal Guard looks like Fei Long's super turbo blocking stance too. Also pandora argument might be an homage to Dr Wiley.

since God Hand will never get a sequel this is the next best thing

His moves are so well animated/motion captured that they can just stick them on a new gen character model and call it a day, so it wouldn't be much work either.

Capcom did remember to put him up for consideration for UMVC3 iirc.

It would seriously be the best thing ever.

Also, re: all the SF talk. Been a while but didn't Dante have his own version of the "Sakura Otoshi" back in 3?

It feels like they were designed for Legendary Dark Knight mode.

How good was Dante/Nero's crowd control in DMC4?

I have been thinking when seeing a lot of the new footage that they've been designing some stuff in mind for LDK mode.

I played through LDK a half year ago and the majority of Nero's and Dante's movesets doesn't really work when fighting that many enemies, so you end up sticking to a smaller set of moves. And that's one big reason why the mode ends up feeling like a gimmick.

Not really anything new, but the linked part at around 9 minutes is rather odd, as Vergil's Sword Rain seems to freeze Berial's animation. It kinda looks like a bug, but perhaps it's intentional behavior.

It seems deliberate to me. The same thing happens on regular downed enemies. It's surprising that it also works on bosses, though.
