PlayStation 4 lifetime sales pass 22.3m worldwide

Are you saying that I should be completely satisfied with its offerings on quality exclusives though?

I used harsh language but didn't say it had no games. Bloodbornes exclusivity sold me on it but besides that theres nothing concrete coming this year. It needs more games like that FAST to keep me interested. God of War remasters don't cut it.

E3 should prove me wrong but can't help but to feel pessimistic.

Perhaps you should have purchased a Wii U if you're so concerned with EXCLUSIVE titles. Unless, of course, you already have one.

I admit it's not a valid barometer but I do think exclusives matter.

What I meant by the ball comment is that it really is Sony's job to give us reasons to continue being excited over their system. Just because of couple of deviants being able to enjoy The Order doesn't mean that the state of big budget exclusives is completely subjective.

Even if I had put prettier dressing on that comment it wouldn't have gone over well in a thread where people are celebrating over system sales so it is my L to bear.

Unfortunately there is no "us" here bro just "you"

Ups, wrong thread.

Added.

...When you see it. LOL.

Glorious.

Of course it wouldn't go over well.

Sales talk is sufficiently separated from the personal opinions of any one person.

Maybe...but technological change in this past two gen make having a lot of game easier than previous one...it's victory without glory imo

How does that goes against PS4 having a big library though? The main reason why there are so many indie releases on the PS4 is because they put great effort on bringing them on board.

You made one mistake here. You used the phrase "I wonder what people are buying the Wii U for". People aren't buying the Wii U for anything because people aren't buying the Wii U at all.

If quality exclusives were the primary driver for selling consoles then the Wii U wouldn't be selling like trash.
Do you want to dance around words with bullshit some more? If it wasn't for their exclusives, they would have sold possibly half the consoles they have sold so far, making the earlier statement wrong. You can try to twist words and completely fail at it, but it doesn't change this fact.

Plenty people choose PS or X1 for Uncharted (or NG in general now), Gran Turismo, Halo, Gears and overall exclusive package. I know because that's why it was an easy choice for me to pick one console over the other.

Where did you read in my post indie were not games.

Someone says ps4 has 286 games to date, a simple factual data, and you felt that you needed to point out that its because it has indies.

You didn't say it, I was the one asking you because of the obvious implications of your post.

The fact that it has any sales at all is because of Mario Kart and SSB. If it had the same third party support of Sony or Microsoft it would be doing well. As it is, it's performing worse than the Dreamcast did.

This doesn't seem like something that hard to figure out. Third party games sell more than exclusives, and now more than ever have a broader appeal.
It had 3rd party support in the beginning and everything bombed. Then 3rd party developers stopped making games for them.

Did i said ps4 had a small library ?
All i said/implied is that it's a victory without glory IMO if you compare it to different past context.
Lot of people to guess bad intention in a simple question...why being so defensive ?

Well done Sony.

Whether some perceive the PS4 to have games (indie, AAA, 3rd Party, 1st party... add your modifier) is immaterial.

The cold hard numbers are irrefutable.

22.3M units sold is bloody impressive.

It doesn't seem like you're getting it, and it's becoming difficult to try and explain to you.

If it wasn't for Nintendo's exclusives, they wouldn't of sold half the consoles, they would of sold no consoles. Nintendo is exclusives, that's all they are. And because of that, the Wii U is doing poorly.

Please Understand.

Wii U had 3rd party games in the beginning and almost all of them bombed which is why they have very little 3rd party support.

Congrats sony so well deserved. Yes the first party have been a slight disappointment but everything else has been superb.

PS+ has been knocking out of the park month after month. The lack of AAA games which would normally interest me has opened up a vault of indie games which i may have normally skipped over.

Hot line Miami, Rogue Legacy, Strider, Valiant Hearts, Counter Spy and olliolli2 have been outstand experiences and for me justify my purchase.

Keep it coming

I didn't say you said that the PS4 had a small library.

Has any console ever had 286 native titles 18 months after its launch?

How many generation of console with online and indie support from launch ?

You dismissed the amount of games the PS4 has because of indies, which is why I asked how does that (indies) go against how many games the PS4 has available since Sony worked hard to get them on board.

What does the ease of development has to do with it when the Xbone pales in comparison? And like I said... There are no mid tier games anymore, so there's really not much difference.

It's not false. Nintendo didn't foster an ecosystem for third parties to grow on the Wii U. Sony did.
Yes it is. The original post I quoted is completely false when relating to Nintendo. When it comes to MS or Sony, it's a mix of the two. Both have an ecosystem that fans buy the console for their 1st party that they prefer as well as the expected 3rd party games.

Great, it sold something, which is significant to you, but in the grand scheme of things it is selling like shit. And your examples of Gran Turismo, Halo and Gears are faulted because you won't be able to measure whether those people bought those respective consoles for the exclusives, the multiplatform games, or both. Once again you're comparing a console with only its exclusives (Wii U) versus consoles which have not only their exclusives but multiplatform games as well. Why not also make the argument that multiplatform games sell extraordinarily well given the fact that the Wii U is selling terribly? I'm sure we can stretch that narrative as well.

Well I for one am very happy with the system and glad to see Sony doing so amazingly at 22.3m sales.

A couple tweaks to the OS (friend notifications am cry) and the console will be near perfect for me.

All that's missing software wise is my next gen Uncharted and God of War.

I just want PSN support for PS1 games on PS4. :(

Attacking people because they enjoyed playing this game really seems to have become a common practice on Neogaf.

Lol 2 pages in and PS4 sales thread turned into PS4 has no games thread

I own one and still feel underwhelmed by the library at this point. The only non-indie game I have played in months is Borderlands Collection, and that is a PS3 port. Hell, weeks will go by where I don't even turn it on. :(

I am hoping E3 shows me something awesome.

I bought one at launch, but it's honestly feeling a lot like the Wii. It would be collecting dust if it weren't for Netflix and my 6 year old getting addicted to Towerfall Ascension. All my gaming time has been spent either on my PC, or streaming my PC to the TV my PS4 is hooked up too. The Dualshock 4, on the other hand, gets a ton of use as a PC game controller!
