Bummed our theater broke, and we didn't get any trailers. Really wanted to see The Force Awakens :/

Nothing wrong with our theater as far as we know besides an out of focus left edge, but we didn't get any The Force Awakens either.

My 7:35 PM showing yesterday was actually half-empty. I was surprised.

1. Captain America : Winter Solider
2. Avengers: Age of Ultron
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Avengers
5. Captain America: The First Avenger
6. Iron Man
7. Thor
8. Iron Man 3
9. Thor 2
10. Incredible Hulk
11. Iron Man 2

Saw it. Liked it a lot. Struck a weird pace, and there was lots of set-up, but that's okay. I'll miss Joss Whedon. No way is Infinity War as funny as these two films are. Maybe that's for the best.

We're doing rankings I guess?

1) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2) Iron Man
3) Avengers
4) Guardians of the Galaxy
5) Captain America: The First Avenger

Everything else muddled in the same tier, followed lastly by Iron Man 3 - the only Marvel movie I didn't like.

1. Winter Solider
2. Iron Man
3. Avengers
4. Guardians of the Galaxy
5. Age of Ultron
6. The First Avenger
7. Thor
8. Iron Man 3
9. Incredible Hulk
10. Thor 2
11. Iron Man 2

1. Winter Solider
2. Iron Man
3. Avengers
4. Guardians of the Galaxy
5. Age of Ultron
6. The First Avenger
7. Thor
8. Iron Man 3
9. Incredible Hulk
10. Thor 2
11. Iron Man 2

Hm, aside from slotting Avengers above GotG that's pretty much my list, though I can't slot TIH and Thor 2 as I've not seen them yet. I'm still not sure if I should, considering where they fall here.

Got my tickets and I'm going to see it in an hour. Man I don't know but the same thing happened to me on the first movie: so hyped I need to literally calm the fuck down before it starts! Lol

Came back from seeing the movie and really enjoyed it, I think it's up there with the 1st Iron Man, 1st Avengers, Captain America The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy for me.

Still better than Thor, Thor The Dark World, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Captain America the First Avenger for me.

Lists based in mood I'm in (subject to change):

Team MCU films:

1. Avengers
2. Galaxy
3. Ultron

Solo MCU films:

1. Soldier
2. Ironman
3. Captain America
4. Thor
5. Ironman 2
6. Ironman 3
7. Dark World
8. Incredible

I really feel like Ironman 2 is the second half of Ironman 1: they link well together; Tony's issues and all that; as well as their close proximity timeline-wise.

Oh, lists eh.

My top 5:
Guardians of the Galaxy
Iron Man 1
Captain America The Winter Solider
Avengers Age of Ultron
The Avengers

The rest are good to average.

Gonna see it again tonight and tomorrow night. My dad wasn't into the 3D last night, so he wants to see it again

Will post back with my second/third impressions, but man did I love it the first time

Yeah I've thought the same things, and everyone that saw it in 3D disliked the experience.

Maybe it's a new marketing scheme -- see it in 3D first, then in 2D again because the 3D was so bad...

As someone who doesn't read any comics the twist was amazing and very funny. Seemed like all the people that had a problem with it were readers of the source material.

Despite the fact that's been said over and over and over that this is a different universe and that "Anything goes"

I read the source material, and had absolutely no problem with that ballsy "Fuck you nerds", it was glorious, finest trolling

IMAX 3D didn't add much but it wasn't terrible in any significant way.

We were pretty close up, so the screen got blurry. Better seats might have fixed it

I would actually pay the same ticket price for IMAX 2D instead of 3D, but they're always tied together. I just want the big screen and the speakers!

Yeah definitely need to see it again in 2D, had no choice this time because I saw it as part of the Marvel Ultimate Marathon and Ulton was 3D for it.

Loved the movie but missed out on things visually because 3D was kinda shit.

I know the source material and loved the twist. Iron Man 3 is a great movie.

Decent follow up to the Avengers 1. Not as good as Winter Soldier or Guardians, didn't really feel like Ultron lived up to top billing. No fault of Spader's though, he was great

Great tier
1) Captain America - The Winter Soldier
2) Guardians of the Galaxy

Good tier
3) The Avengers
4) Avengers: Age of Ultron
5) Iron Man

Mediocre tier
6) Thor - The Dark World
7) Iron Man 3
8) Thor
9) Captain America - The First Avenger

Bad tier
10) The Incredible Hulk
11) Iron Man 2

Finally saw it this morning at 9am in 3D IMAX, and just got back from a non-3D showing (2x in one day!)

I like the first Avengers movie because of the whole novelty of gathering up the group into one movie. However, as annoying as the cuts into the 2nd and Ultron being too comedic; In my opinion, AoU > Avengers.

The DoFP version of quicksilver seemed like he was missing emotion and also looked like he had a blank stare most of the time. AoU Quicksilver actually acted more like the comic version (no totally though). So I liked the AoU version more.

It'll be interesting for sure how they'll start Civil War.

Edit: Imax 3D wasn't terrible, especially the sound. But I'd watch it on 2d more.

Saw the preview for the new Star Wars in 3D and it looked great (trailer wasn't in the 2d showing). I'll probably watch both IMAX 3D and regular 2d as well.

I wanted to see the force awakens trailer on the big screen

What the fuck at Tomorrowland, I thought it was like a bio pic or something, looks insane x amazing

Movie was great but idk the first avengers fight in NY still has me amazed because tony went into fucking space

I still had a great time B^)

Disney getting $$$$$$$$$$$$ stones

Just saw it! It's awesome!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who says otherwise hast t seen it or is trolling.

Agreed. I just saw it and this is Marvel's best effort so far IMO. The small moments to the big ones. Just a great great super hero movie.

I watched it last week in Brazil and for trailers my theater had Poltergeist, Fantastic Four and a couple other films I don't even remember anymore, one was a comedy I think.

No Jurassic World, no Force Awakens, no Ant-Man, no BvS. Count your blessings!

Just got back from seeing it. 5/5, I throughly enjoyed it. Definitely top tier Marvel. I'll need to see it again to be able to properly rank it. The hype may be clouding my judgement a bit. As of now though:

  1. Age of Ultron
  2. Iron Man 3
  3. Winter Soldier

Mandarin being a hilarious pawn instead of an actual terrorist. In the comics the "real" Mandarin is a big enemy of Stark's.

Ohhh right.

LOL I forgot about that because I loved it so much I didn't really think it a twist. The Mandarin is just such an outdated concept (and sort maybe possibly racist). Kinda sad they "undid" that with that little Marvel short (not that it matters cause I doubt we'll ever see him again, as I doubt we'll ever have an Iron Man 4)

The Iron Man 3 praise in this thread makes me laugh. That movie is trash of the highest order. If there's a movie that illustrates all of the issues that I have with the MCU, it's Iron Man 3.

Is the 3D terrible? I was given a ticket to the 3D Imax and I really dislike most 3D implementation in film.
Not terrible.
Worth seeing it in IMAX 3D, guys? Is the 3D good/neat?
Definitely not worth it though. Best compliment I can give it is that I didn't notice anything being in 3D.

I was way in the front at my IMAX showing. :( Had the row to myself though, and apparently my theater just started serving beer, so, I had a good time.

I need to see it again from the back row; any action that happened to the left or right of center was unwatchable for me.

Didn't really like it. The movie moved too fast, jumping from one mediocre action scene to other except for the one in the last act which I quite liked. I didn't care for Ultron nor did he feel like a real threat. The best part of the movie was probably Vision. Overall I'd rank it somewhere in the middle in the MCU list.

Are there any other opinions from someone who saw it in IMAX? Was it worth it? Watching a movie in the front row is a miserable experience IMAX or not.

I dunno, I ended up liking it after realizing it's more of a Shane Black Christmas comedy movie with RDJ, than an Iron Man movie.
