Float like a butterfly, sting like a butterfly. lol

If these guys got into a real fight, Pacquiao would fucking murder Floyd. In a boxing match where tiny little taps count as points though, sure, Floyd is "brilliant".

Boxing had a chance to pick up tons of new fans today, and blew it. Change the damn rules and make fucking hugging lose points. Or make 50% of their payment be voided if there is no knockout.

Because this was fucking lame. You can say I "Dont know boxing" and that's true, but the problem is I and others now don't care to learn about boxing.

You people should watch Golovkin if you want to see people getting smashed up.

If this was a Golovkin match Boxing would have picked up so many fans, the technical display of mayweather was completely and utterly boring to the many casuals watching that match.

Floyd's defense was too good for manny to do any of his deadly combos. Everytime manny was bout to do those combos, mayweather would either hug him and or run/back away. And whenever he got hit hard in the face, he quickly turns into that turtle shell stance.

...but the real winners are both of them. 100+ mil each while we are still broke complaining about how boring the fight was in neogaf. Enjoy your win mayweather and enjoy your vacation pac!

Can a boxing fan explain to me why this is allowed? Or rather, why doesn't it cost points when you do so?

It seems incredibly cheap and lame. Like cheesing a boss in a game except it is real life boxing.

A lot of people who bring up Floyd's past with regards to beating his wife have been really hypocritical because I'm sure they don't call out other wifebeaters with such verocity but I guess since they hate floyd so much it's ok in their minds.

Someone please think of the poor wifebeaters.

These two clowns would be crazy not to fight again with the payday they just got. They banked so much wtf.

If they do have a rematch they need to do it in Jerry world. Would be a great farewell to both of their careers. They would bank even more if they did.

It's weird how defensive boxing fans get over Mayweather. In college basketball we have universal agreement that UVA is horribly boring to watch and the rules should be changed to make that style less effective. NHL changed after fans got bored of watching the NJ Devils win cups with the neutral zone trap. Football evolved to emphasize more passing. Yet boxing fans can't seem to get enough of these boring matches dominated by defense and sheer exploitation of the rules. I don't get it.

A wife beater is a wife beater at the end of the day and that is what makes them scum. Should Mayweather be forgiven for his personal life just because he is good if not great at boxing? Nope. We can all see his a great technically fighter, but he is also a twat.

Ugh...I just knew in the back of my mind that this would end up being a typical Mayweather fight in the end. Glad me and my Dad didn't pay the ridiculous fee.

Like a AAA game, the anticipation and hype pretty much blinded people to how the actual product might turn out.

Man, reading social media the backlash is real. It may be unfair, but the casual viewer was expecting some all-out slugfest, not the technical, point-based boxing we saw tonight.

Boxing is going to be in the doghouse for the casual viewer for at least another decade after tonight. No way non-boxing fans are going to get sucked into the hype-machine again anytime soon.
Why does it have to be on either opposite end of the spectrum? Certainly wasn't expecting a slugfest but it would've been nice to see more action, although I knew Floyd would win so I voted for him.

Given how much of a contrast there is between the two style wise, I expected either one extreme or the other. That it would hinge entirely on whether or not Pacquiao could pressure Mayweather enough to force him into a real give-and-take.

Most people would have wanted Manny to win due to his humble nature and likeable attitude. A stark contrast to Floyd's money-wasting, extravagant and ostentatious lifestyle.

But their personal lives were not at question here, it was their skill in the ring. And Floyd brought that to this fight.

Fight was never in doubt. Mayweather was just too smart for Manny. Glad he's going to stay unbeaten cause he deserves it

No he doesn't. He had a fight where he was dominated. He deserves shit. I gave that fight 8 rounds to Pac, 4 to Money, the result was a fucking joke and every boxing fan should be fucking ashamed that the best man didn't win.

Based on what? I was rooting for MP but he was never in the fight outside of the odd round here or there.

At keast MP wanted to fight, Mayweather didn't. Touching your opponent as many times as possible with ineffectual non-punches now seems to be a thing. Who did more damage? There was a time when aggression was encouraged and sitting back doing fuck all would see every judge go against you. I guess Mayweather has changed that. He's a sad fucking excuse of a boxer.

Now that the salt has receded to normal levels I must admit that was a good fight. Pacquiao brought a good fight to Mayweather. It wasn't just a total mopping of the floor with Pac. Mayweather is just too good defensively. And given the reach disadvantage that Pacquiao had, you really have to give it up to the guy for going hard. Good fight. And I think it lived up to what it should have been.
now give is Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2

Lol, Pacman and Roach can't beat PBF, at this point no one can especially if he will retire for real in September.

And a rematch is certainly off the cards with that outing.

Money will be able to dodge Father Time too in the process.

The jab kept MP at bay. So MP couldn't get close to Floyd to land his trademark combos. You can't beat Mayweather throwing 35 punches per round.

This man and the judges disagree with you.
Manny knew what he had to do tonight, he knew Floyd's style, Roach said this would be over in less than 3 rounds. The disappointment falls with Pac to deliver, especially when Manny is supposed to be going at Floyd. If anyone disagrees look at the last 10 seconds of the fight Manny didn't even have the sense of urgency to go for broke.

I enjoyed the boxing skills of Mayweather but I understand how people thought it was boring. For a 38 year old he was impressive.

I'm not sure a rematch would show anything different. I hope to see him face someone else.

I recommend people to watch Manny's last fight with Algieri and then this one with Mayweather. Should help you appreciate how skilled Mayweather is.

Yeah, the big winner last night was Dana White and UFC. If that was a generational "superfight", the casuals (including me) are going to be like "Fuck that".

I was on a personal five year boycott for boxing PPV and I'll likely restart it.

Dominated? Pac couldn't even land a hit in most of the rounds.

Moments like this are awesome but they came few and far in between in this fight. Most of it was Floyd throwing out a jab from optimal range and dancing while Pacquiao flailed impotently. Yes, a very impressive performance, but for the most part one-sided and dull.
I don't disagree.
Manny was outmatched, and for what it's worth (and speculative history does not worth much I admit) I don't think he ever stood a chance against Mayweather in that weight class.

Sorry but no, just no.
I thought the 116-112 scores were super generous to Manny (I personally had it at 118-110 with Manny only winning the 4th and the 6th rounds) but for real, I cannot imagine going higher than that. Honest question - what rounds do you think Pac won?

I'm convinced that the only way one beats Floyd is going for broke and taking a ton of chances exposing ones self to his counterpunches. You either get lucky, overwhelm him and hopefully get a KO or Floyd KOs you. That's it.
