I've got doubles of Shinobi III loose and Fire Shark CIB, does anyone want to trade?
I wouldn't mind Streets of Rage 2 or Phantasy Star III CIB or any other shooters.
I'd also post in the BST thread to get more views (or post pics of the cart/CIB).

1 creditting SOR2 on Mania is almost impossible!!!
I know, but at least I beaten Mania.=pYou're just not good enough.
I like GSH, but it has one big downgrade for me. They replaced the throw with a knife attack. In GH, grabbing bombs out of the air and hitting mid air enemies with them feels so good. There's those guys riding floating platforms in level 5 that you can throw to one hit kill, which is also great. The knife in GSH isn't nearly as good. You're not. GSH is definitely the better of the two games.

Wait, you haven't beaten it on Mania???=Othat's more than i've managed so far!

I dunno, but here's a partial list:Also on an unrelated note, is there a good complete list of games anywhere that makes use of the extra buttons on the 6 button controller? I've found a few but most are missing games I know made use of the buttons (like primal rage).
Is the Master System Power Base Converter considered a rare item? I see just one on eBay and its a CIB going for nearly $200.

Also, do people generally prefer the 1653 or 1470 6 button? I remember people mentioning a better D-pad on one but I can't remember.
Figured. I feel like I've searched before and found several for like $35-$50. I guess there just aren't any listed at the moment.
Am i the only person who prefers Gunstar Super Heroes over the original?
Depends on what you want them for, but manufactured new ones with added FM sound can be had for like $60, or cheaper without FM if you want the original western experience.
Directly from the author, or on resellers like stoneagegamer.com or retrogame.co.uk
Nah. That's just ebay being ebay.
3D Out Run has a really funny M2 credits sequence, too.
Eurogamer posted an article on the excellent (and expensive!) MD version of Slap Fight, and it includes an interview with the developer: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-05-12-death-from-above-the-making-of-slap-fight-md
While I'm in the US, I've always wanted to play a Probotector version of Contra. Does anyone know if the Mega Drive one will play nicely in a US Genny?

I love these more obscure games getting attention and hearing the history of how they came to be, much like the Surgical Strike CD32X article from a few pages back.
Also, i did a new video on Sega CD Sports games because i am a crazy man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLm_ivz0fq4
Hey, it's better then doing more coverage of good games causing people to drive up their prices. :3
Have you seen NHL 94 prices recently? Dont be so sure it couldnt happen
I'm having a weird video issue with my Genesis (model 2 NTSC) and I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on. I normally play my retro consoles on a Trinitron CRT, but as I think I've mentioned, I had to put it in storage for now until I get a bigger place. Anyway, been playing my Genesis on my 50" HD TV in the meanwhile, and for most games I get this strange colored border around the game, and the game is always off center, with more of the border visible on the right. You can see what I mean in this picture (sorry for the shit quality):
As you see, there is a light blue border which is wider on the right. This happens both with the RF adapter and a composite cable, don't have any better way of hooking up to this TV right now.
It doesn't happen with every game (or some use a black border and I don't notice it), is this something normal or does anyone know what is going on? It doesn't bother me too much, but I do wish it was an even border on the right and left, that can get distracting. I don't recall ever noticing this on my CRT but who knows, its been a while.
That's overscan. Old CRTs would normally be adjusted so that it is cut off, but it is part of the image that was always there.
Ah, that is what my GoogleFu was telling me. I was just confused why it doesn't happen with my NES, SNES, or N64 connected via composite, though I guess it could just be disguised differently and I don't notice it.
Different systems have different resolutions. Even if you stretch and shrink and perfectly fit one console's output to your CRT, another one will be too far left or too small or too big.
Afraid not. It seems to be region locked to Pal only. When I put my modded Megadrive in US mode it just gives me a frozen Konami splash screen.
It's personally one of my fav beat em up series ever.Streets of Rage will be my favorite game on the Genesis forever
That too, hell I liked the music in all 3 games, yes, Streets of Rage 3 even. For me the thing that really sells Streets of Rage for me is the music. I cannot imagine a more perfect and amazing soundtrack to absolutely define hours of two player co-op with my brother as kids. With some "god damn it let go of my head! Ugh you're hitting me! No you take right I take left!" mixed in.
The actual Japanese versions come in round metal cans, each in a clear plastic box. So yeah, I have no idea what cover art would look like... ("Kanzume" means "Can". Games Can, and they come in a metal can! Heh.)Does anyone have a nice cover that I could use on my single DVD case holding both translated copies of Game no Kanzume Vol1&2? thecoverproject and google image failed me.
Oh man, have people played Trouble Shooter? I just got a copy on the cheap with the box, and I'm totally into this. I love shooters with this sort of quirky sense of humor, and the option-side-swap shooting mechanics are so good. It reminds me a lot of Magical Chase in some ways, which is my all-time-favorite shooter. This isn't as colorful or as well designed, but it's a hell of a good time.
Shame about the box art though.
