Its not like PS 1st party is just going to be sitting on its backside because playstation secured some 3rd party marketing deals.

PS has 4 conferences this year.

E3,PGW,Pre-TGS,PSX

Spreading out announcements, reveals and updates between them is what i assume is what is going to happen.

I see the focus being like

E3 - 3rd party with some first party plus the indie montage.

PGW - indie and smaller tilles being the focus with probably showcasing a new game from 1 first party studio.

Pre-TGS - Jap 3rd party focus with collaborations and whatever studio japan is doing.

PSX - 1st party focus with a slew of smaller titles, indies and the odd 3rd party developer.

Thats how i think it should be laid out.
This is exactly why I'm just not as hyped anymore for E3. Ugh. And with Nin not showing Zelda, I have almost 0 interest in what they're -supposedly- going to show. It's weird that, for the first time, I'm actually looking forward to MS' the most this year.

There needs to be a far bigger 1st party focus at E3 than that.

i pretty much feel the same though i am also holding out hope for bethesdas conference.

There does need to be but i dont see it happening unless sony decide to extend their conference time. They already usually go for about 2hours to 2hours 15min which is why i dont think they will show AS much as perhaps previous years. Id be ecstatic If i was proved wrong its just the amount of 3rd party deals they have for games which are releasing during the fall and holiday season is alot and i can see them pushing them harder since as of now they dont have a big exclusive they can push. Obviously that can change and they could maybe announce a new AAA exclusive title at e3 for a fall/holiday release, but for now ill remain skeptical.

If they talk about every 3rd party game that's on that list in this thread and give them a trailer, I reckon that could take up about 35-45 minutes. Add in 15-20 minutes for their indie section, and I think that leaves a ton of time to dedicate to first party announcements.

Length of time they will talk about each of these games if they have marketing deals.

Star Wars: Battlefront - 8 mins
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - 5 mins
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3? - 6 mins
Mad Max - 4 mins
Batman: Arkham Knight - 4 mins
Metal Gear Solid V - 4 mins
Destiny - DB, HOW, Comet, and going forward long-term. - 3 mins

Yeah, I could see that happening. Plenty of time for 1st party content.

I'll be honest, if sony does in fact have COD marketing this year, is going to be so weird to see a gameplay reveal on Sony's conference. Specially after 6 years of watching them at the beginning of every MS conference.

Jesus, Sony is really killing it on third parties - marketing deals this year alone:

Star Wars: Battlefront
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3?
Mad Max
Batman: Arkham Knight
Metal Gear Solid V
Destiny - DB, HOW, Comet, and going forward long-term.

Because they literally have no first party games.

Oh yeah! I forgot Uncharted 4, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Until Dawn, Ratchet & Clank, Rime, Shadow Of The Beast, Tearaway Unfolded, The Tomorrow Children and Wild don't actually exist! Silly me.

theres still their filler talk (system sales, ps+ subscriptions and other stuff theyll say to please investors) theyll undoubtedly touch on morpheus and PS Now if only for a bit. With their expansion of the playstation brand to encompass more of non gaming stuff like PS Vue were looking at a more limited time schedule for 1st party. Again i hope im wrong. There will undoubtedly be announcements i dont think sony are that stupid that they wouldnt have anything new to present from the 1st party roster even if it was just a cgi trailer. Just think itll be less than normal.

Not to mention Powers Season 2 ... and probably the Uncharted Movie trailer.

You're also forgetting the 20min. long "Powers" that will disappoint everyone to death.

edit: dammit! Maybe TLOU movie too?

Tomorrow Children, Rime, Wild... killer games for me. They have bunch of exclusives by the end of the year.

Looking forward to all these. I think Sony will also heavily push Until Dawn at the conference, with a release date.

I would also expect them to announce some DLC for Bloodborne. Sony to show a large number of indie titles, I think the montage they did of indies worked well last year.

Would love to see MS bring some Gears 4 gameplay (I know its unlikely) what I hope they do not do is make there conference all about Forza, Halo and Fable, my interest in these franchises has really dipped. Hope they show some great new indie titles coming to the Xbox One.

How could i forget!
No doubt theyll be highlighting the Ratchet and Clank movie aswell, That should be releasing soon.

oh man.

Isn't there a Sly Cooper movie too? they'll probably talk about that.

I'm a Playstation fan but their conferences always disappoint and makes me like MS's even more.

Yeah sly cooper is slated for next year.

I didnt like last years but 2013 was pretty good. Generally i prefer nintendos or MS e3 conferences just do to the fact its mostly a blowout for them so they'll show alot of their games as the dont have other conferences. Though nintendo has directs now.

Overall ive been liking gamescom alot more with its unique showings like rime and wild.

Oh yeah, VR. Ugh, I forgot about that.

I'm not really good with time tracking, but when can we expect any leaks? When did we get first infos for Project Beast last year?

You forget the sport section 15 minutes of Fifa

While I get why some of you all are concerned over Sony's presser due to the amount of 3rd-party marketing they've locked down, I don't feel any real need to be overly concerned.

Bloodborne didn't exist one year ago, and we got it just two months back. We're almost assured two huge reveals this year alone from Sony internally (MM & GG), and like all first-party deals, not every game will be from an internal studio, like Quantic or other possible partners... like maybe Level-5 or some other studio.

Sure, maybe the amount of 3rd-parties will reduce the scope of the first-party presence at E3 because as we all know, sometimes things are pulled out at the last minute, especially when the 3rd-party team overdelivers and reduces the need for Shu to have to announce Horizon last year or something.

If I look at just the raw number of games already announced, and the teases of what's to be announced/about time for their next announcement, there's plenty of content.

I don't know if Mad Max will be in it. I doubt AK will get another demo eithe. The Destiny segment last year was about 5 minutes so I'd expect the same for SW and maybe an extra minute or two onto the MGS V trailer.

pls Sony, dont show us a live gameplay of Syndicate - No one CARES
Instead of AC:S, show us Mad max, Just Cause 3, The division, Star Wars Battlefront or R6 Siege but NO SYNDICATE, did you hear me BOYES

I'm going to nitpick this.

They have only shown CoD demos at the MS presser five years, not six. And even then, not consecutively: there was no demo in 2013 because it had its own event for that because Titanfall took its spot for that year's MS presser.

And also, not all of them have been in the beginning. Modern Warfare 2's demo was the third on on in 2009 after The Beatles: Rock Band and Tony Hawk Ride. And in 2012, the demo for Black Ops II closed the show, not started it - that was Halo 4.

You will get an Assassins Creed demo and a Destiny segment just as Microsoft will have Call of Duty on their stage and you will sit down and like it.

Can we get, or is there a list of every confirmed game to be at E3? Not just talking about the main presser, but stuff like Overkill's The Walking Dead and such... I would be interested to see what all is known so far

How did you forget that??

:P

But ya, stop with the concern trolling that Sony will only have 3rd party games people, that's just totally laughable.

The way that the events have been shown I can see E3 being a majority 3rd party conference, while the latter will have more 1st party, likely because they are early in their respective production pipelines. I'm expecting to see Horizon at least, have a good feeling about that one.

MS looks to have a heavy focus on 1st party (for a change), its unusual how there are literally no leaks. Everything airtight this year after last years leaky ship!

Every time when I see the list of all these damn boring marketing deals I'm getting more and more de-hyped for their conference...

Never thought MS could have a better 1st-party show, but this year it's really possible. Still hate MS for starting this exclusive marketing and DLC bullshit, but it seems Sony is starting to bring this to a new level.
Hopefully it won't be as bad as I feel it will be.

Well, most of what we expect to see from MS Studios have been announced already - Scalebound, Halo 5, Forza 6, Crackdown 3, Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, (and maybe Phantom Dust) or heavily teased / semi-confirmed - Gears of War, Battletoads. Is there really much else to leak besides blantly dropping the new trailer for those game (which would be a damn shame) ?

I am expecting Microsoft conference to be mostly about updates on those game, partly about confirmation for those teased projects, and very little about new announcements. After all we already know what most of their big studios are working on.

Apart from Rare's game, assuming it's more than Battletoads, that's probably true. Still very interested in seeing some of these games in action, Scalebound in particular.

If anything it sorta seems like Sony is in a good position because people don't have high expectations for their conference because of their third party partnerships. So things will have gone about as expected if they don't show anything huge from a first party perspective, while they'll surprise people if they do.

I'm not expecting them to just roll out a bunch of multiplatform games and call it a day. It's easy to forget that most of Sony's studios haven't even shown anything on the PS4. That doesn't mean that they'll just dump everything at E3, but they have a lot on their pocket.

I was thinking, some Persona 5 reassurance for the western folk would be nice. A 5 minute gameplay demo, maybe, and a 2015 release date.
