Also, Louis CK once jerked off in front of me at a coke party at Ricky Gervais' house.

Edit: but to be fair I think it's just because he mistook me for his niece.

I was on Tosh.0 and G4's Attack of the Show/Web Soup for my 40 Pizza Rolls video/Chicken in a Can.

So I guess that would mean Chris Hardwick, Olivia Munn, and Daniel Tosh have all said my name/referenced me at some point. That's something I suppose.

Video for Olivia Munn doesn't exist to my knowledge as it aired once and was never put online (even though every other episode was). They didn't get my permission or anything to air/do a segment about me. They "dissected" my body (dummy on a table) and pulled objects out of the stomach. G4 did get my signature/rights to use the pizza rolls video for Web Soup though.

I've had Kamiya/Ono tweet me a couples of times.

I had a conversation with Jessica Nigri before, she's pretty cool.

Also, Louis CK once jerked off in front of me at a coke party at Ricky Gervais' house.

Edit: but to be fair I think it's just because he mistook me for his niece.

Wut

  • Me having dinner/desert with Olivia Munn
  • Me having a conversation with Emilia Clarke, on how much I enjoyed her season one nude scene with those 3 baby dragons.
  • Me having a convesation with author George RR Martins on how much I enjoy his Game of Thrones books.
  • Me tweeting back and forth with The Last of Us Neil Druckman and Bruce Staley (Staley's a major Godzilla fan)
  • Me having a ton of twiiter conversations with Layla Kayleigh Covino
  • Direct messages from Janina Gavankar (one of the most realist persons ever!)
  • Me meeting up with Olivia Munn during several Comic Cons

Zach Weinersmith (Author of the SMBC webcomic) retweeted me once. That was a big moment.

Also I used to post on the same Internet forum as Garry Whitta.

Emma Willis told me she liked my hair.

Dizzee Rascal once said "Wagwan blud" to me.

Tom Odell claims my pub makes the best steaks in the world.

The producer of Animal Crossing New Leaf allegedly visited my dream town.

Wrestler Curtis Axel (Mr Perfect's son) retweeted a picture of me and my son, Axel.

A few musicians and starcraft pros responding to tweets, I guess. Just send out a good word and it happens now and then.

I collect indie kaiju toys and I was interviewed on TV in Tokyo, ended up with a little segment on prime time TV about my collecting and painting toys. They asked me what my favorite was and I mentioned a really rare toy that I haven't been able to find since the odds of being able to buy one when they go on sale are about 1/200. The guy who makes those super rare toys emailed me, said thanks for mentioning his toy, and then sent me a gift package including one of his toys and a bunch of rare swag. And then the next time he put up a toy for sale he made sure I was a winner and got to buy one <3

That's pretty cool.

Um, Ian McKellen replied to an email I wrote about...16 years ago.

Thom Yorke from Radiohead answered a question that I asked about an unreleased song and his answer was picked up and printed in Q magazine.

Pretty shitty but all I can think of.

David Tennant was performing at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre down the road from the hotel I worked in at the time. He came in after his performance for a drink. I ended up having a few drinks with him. I saw him the next day as he was setting off. We exchanged a glance and a gentleman's nod and that was it.

Michael Mann shook my hand and said "thank you, good work" when I worked on the Miami Vice set. talked a bit too

as a film student at the time that was pretty big

OMG that is awesome!

The late Sir Terry Pratchett said I was rather attractive. That's all I got.

Didn't you feel weird about that? You've mentioned it a few times.

Damn, where's that Olivia Munn superfan here? Bet he'd be insanely jealous! :P

oh wow, that's pretty huge OP. cool painting, no wonder he liked it.

closest i've got is getting some cheers from relatively known skateboarders after landing some trick heh. back in the days the Finnish national champion of 2000 cheered when i landed a pretty nice varial heelflip :) nice little memory. also skated with Arto Saari who was a maaaassive star back then, and Jani Laitiala who was hyped to become the next big thing, got his old board too.

man i've waited long to get brag about these lol.

Yiruma (Piano player) recognized me and approached me for a chat. He wasn't famous at the time tho. I have done work for some famous people. Lord Feldman, Robin VanPersie, Dennis Bergkamp and a lot of the younger Arsenal players who still live with their families. Every well known person I've met through work (always visiting their houses) have been really nice.

I met Derek Jeter once. When I was like 12. He was at a restaurant with a few other Yankees players. I was terrified to go talk to him, so my mom came with me. I got his autograph. No idea where it is now. It was on a napkin.

Exchanged multiple e-mails with, took a workshop with, and was praised for my performance as Hans from Frozen ("You bastard, I love it! It's grea-hahahahaha!" was the exact quote) by Crispin Freeman.

I'm not sure voice actors count as 'famous people', but I'm still over the moon about it. Awesome dude.

Rob Lowe favourited a tweet of mine.

Also Alan Carr (UK chat show host) retweeted a joke of mine and I had to turn off notifications on my phone because it then got so many retweets and favourites.

Kellee Santiago once replied to an email of mine about Flower. I thought that was cool of her. And one of my gaf posts once appeared on Giantbomb, something about how cute Drew is.

But there is really only one famous person in the world i'd like to recognize me.

Whoa, cool. That chicken looked disgusting.

I made a rave bracelet for superstar DJ Mauro Picotto, gave it to him at a club, saw him again a few months later at another club and he was wearing it

Dave Matthews once laughed at me for mouthing the words to Satellite while I was cleaning trays at Bodo's. Everyone in Charlottesville has some story about meeting Dave, though. That dude is always around.

If Twitter conversations count, I think Doug Benson booked Eddie Pepitone on a Benson Interruption show at my request.

The 'What's Up Hot Dog Plugs Section' that ran on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast for a while was from a suggestion I tweeted to Scott Aukerman.

Greg Proops DM'd me once after I complemented one of his podcast audiences.

Random other conversations with minor internet celebs, like Gary Whitta.

Nothing that was really public and called me out in specific.

Jeff Gerstmann and Patrick Klepek recognized me while watching me interview the Galak-Z guys at PAX Prime last year from a previous event. It was surreal and embarrassing because I was drunk at the previous event.

Margaret Thatcher recognized my mom, and invited; and then uninvited herself to a pool party my family was hosting in my backyard. The strange thing is, we're 100% Irish, and she hated us; until she left office.

Adding to that, my mom met Jay-Z a number of times at my father's company events. He recognized her because she had no clue who he was, and she heavily criticized the 40/40 club's layout to his face the first time they met.

Oh and finally, Jay Feely or Jay Fiedler recognized me as the guy that mistook him for Jay Feely or Jay Fiedler whenever I went to a diner in Mineola, NY after bartending. I still don't know who I've shook hands with on at least 5 occasions.

Was walking my schnauzer one day (many, many years ago) and a guy asked me if he could see my dog and after about a year of knowing him, going in his house and having coffee and having conversations and it wasn't until he saw my mom (they went to school together) and she smacked my head and said you don't know who this is? It's David Keith.

I think he mostly kept me around for conversations because i was the only one in the area who apparently didn't know who he was so instead of me bugging him about trivial stuff we would just talk about knoxville and life. He was pretty cool and it's still crazy to me that i lived 2 houses down from him and had no idea. But i also don't really consider him super famous.

A long time ago when meeting a Mets player (I don't remember, we met a few) my Dad said "Famous people are no different than anyone else. They put their pants on in the morning the same way. Always treat them like a normal person. They'll appreciate that."

So in 2005, Bryan Cranston had his own website. It had a contact me form. I sent him a brief note saying I really enjoyed watching Malcolm in the Middle and then said I saw him on King of Queens.

He wrote me back.

Glenn,

Thanks for watching, and yes, Kevin James is a great guy - very funny.
And I'm shocked as to why he
hasn't been nominated for an Emmy?!

B.C.

I call that my email from Walter White. :P

I have a few followers on Twitter of some guys with a Comedy Central show that I can't think of the name...I also have conversed with a former NBC exec and producer, who had a scholarship at my college.

I wrote to him and thank him for the scholarship, told him I was a huge fan of Unexplained Mysteries as a kid (which he worked on). Guy was nice enough he sent me a DVD collection of the show. I thanked him again recently on Twitter after finding him.

About a decade or so ago, when I was a depressed teenager, my question got snuck into the end of an interview with Marilyn Manson.

Question:

By example of human history, both ancient and modern, an individual who seeks out knowledge beyond the level of his peers often becomes depressed. In many ways, as intelligence, wisdom, and understanding rise, it almost can push us towards a bleaker outlook of society - Many artists end up in this rut, and a fair share have even taken their life over it. What is the key to keeping an optimistic outlook towards a society which is filled with so many putrid elements?

Answer:

Well, whoever said that first part, it is absolutely 100% true. As far as keeping an outlook; Taking the time to stop and see what you've created, and for me painting is always often the most immediate because colors and the way they bleed together are beautiful even if it's a grotesque image. Knowing that you can make something, no matter who you are – that's probably the only thing that makes you feel like you can make a difference. You can't change the world, but if you think about it: If you made something, you've changed the world. It wasn't there before, then you made it; now it's there. A lot of people need to amend their "You can't change the world" philosophy and not look at it so idealistic and so absurdly heroic.

I find if you have somebody that you can share with – whether it's a collaborator, or maybe it's someone who you're in love with, or loves you and makes you feel appreciated by enjoying what you do. Not just patronizing you because they care about you. That makes you feel like there is something worth sticking around for. I guess the worst thing you could have is to be alone.

Then I met him on the tour bus several years later, met him and Stoya, and he gave me part of his outfit from the show :)
