E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Was looking at last years E3 conferences and like last year Microsoft will probably show off the Gears of war collection and talk about Gears 4 maybe for 2016, Scalebound gameplay, crackdown gameplay with release dates for these games, I could see a price drop happening to maybe $300 since the unoffical price drop of $350 in stores is going on right now

I have a question for those of you with surer memories of the months leading up to past E3s, specifically in relation to the The Last Guardian. Would it to be fair to say that, this time around, it seems like we have more evidence than ever for that game's reemergence at this year's E3? Or are the recent rumours and indications comparable to those that were floating around in former years?

There's been absolutely zero evidence to support that claim. I also have no clue what "rumors" you're referring to.

What evidence though, really? The main driving force was some argumentative dude insisting it's gonna be there. Is he still around or did he get banned? I wouldn't get your hopes up honestly.

Shu hasn't said that there wouldn't be Last Guardian at this E3, so possibility of LG showing this year is higher than year go. I think that's it)

Someone should write an article claiming TLG is cancelled again. Wonder how they'll respond this time.

In hindsight, my post could be emended to more accurately reflect the situation. When I wrote "rumours and indications," I was mostly thinking about the posts made on these forums by someone with putative insider status. I understand how my word choice suggests something more elaborate, though. I had somehow gotten the impression that that were other indications besides those provided by this supposed insider; I guess I was wrong. Sorry about that.

At any rate, I wanted to gauge the current situation and figure out if there's anything more distinctly hopeful about this year. Thanks to those who replied and clarified.

I may be mistaken but I thought Kagari, a moderator on these forums, looked into the matter. Her response was not unequivocal, but it seemed to suggest that this person may not be an entirely dubious source.

Yeah pretty much. But make of that what you will. Good times ahead, I love the suspense, hype and dead end teases.

It's a new IP, with gameplay different from KZ, and with the writer of New Vegas. I don't think it's possible they can fuck this up.

You forgot to add dino-bots, potential co-op and it's open world ;)

Yup but it does seem Guerrilla have the perfect ingredients to make something amazing.

I'm also geeked out about how they'll use their proprietary tech. Those guys are true wizards with PlayStation systems.

My most anticipated titles for this E3 are:

-Uncharted 4 (we already saw gameplay, time for some story trailers)
-Star Wars Battlefront (just the gameplay)
-Persona 5 (just some reassurance that its coming out this year is enough)
-Deus Ex Mankind Divided (Gameplay footage please)
-God of War 4 (In Game teaser or a story teaser to reveal how in the hell they going to continue after the ending of GOW3)

Titles I hope get announced or revealed at this E3:

Bethesda
-Dishonored 2
-Fallout 4 (Man if this doesn't happen, I am glad this conference is a day before the top 3 because Gaf is going to be down for quite some time)

EA
-Visceral's Star Wars Game (Want to see what dear old Amy is cooking up)
-Mass Effect 4 (A full fledged reveal would be nice)

Ubisoft
-Watch Dogs 2 (They deserve a second chance but they better make a game as qood and as interesting as AC2 for me to even a bat an eye)
-Valiant Hearts 2

Sony
-GG's New I.P. "Horizon"
-QD's New I.P.
-The Last Guardian (I Wish)

Nintendo
-New Metroid Game (or just something else other than Donkey Kong Country from Retro)

Square Enix
-Sleeping Dogs 2 (This probably won't happen because of Triad Wars -_-)

I mean, someone can have a verified insider status without their information being correct. There was a dude who last year hyped the balls off the PSX conference and he was vetted by the mods (I think one of his friends worked for Sony), but most of his claims turned out to be bullshit.

Verendus is one of the forum's best insiders but always prefaces his claims by saying that plans change and projects get cancelled, so nothing is set in stone.

I see. I agree that even a confirmed insider's claims could turn out to be inaccurate. Also, I did say "not entirely dubious," and I mentioned that Kagari's response wasn't unequivocal. In other words, I wasn't trying to suggest that his information can be taken as a guarantee nor was I saying that he's even a legitimate insider. I don't know. It's fun to consider these kinds of things amidst the pre-E3 anticipation and speculation, though.

Yes, I agree. Here's hoping the game reemerges this year, but who knows? We'll see. I was just curious if the prospect seemed more likely this time around, relative to previous years.

The reminder that even insider info can be tentative and ultimately inaccurate is definitely a useful one. I really hope TLG appears, but it's best to keep our expectations in check.

Personally I stopped believing in The Last Guardian somewhere around 2012. I think Ueda 'left' Sony in very late 2011. If they ever get around to releasing the game then great, but I'm not counting on it.

that's a healthy take. would be super-happy if it gets a release one day but I will never believe it until I see it.

I am excited for that game, but also worried that it's just another "RPG" shooter similar to Destiny :(

No. Chances are tiny.

Chances for next year are pretty good though.

I hope it has a proper A-to-B plot and if there are going to be massive beasts stalking around, it would be cool as f**k if they're able to free-roam and attack settlements or convoys for example. I don't think it will be quite like Destiny although if they were to have co-op parties or something that would be goddamn awesome!

So, guys, which are your 3 most anticipated games of the show? Personally i can't wait for:

1. Media Molecule's new IP - which will probably be a no show, thus leaving a poor E3 taste in my mouth, and even poorer knowing we will have to wait till October.
.
.
.
.
.
.
2. Last Guardian
3. Horizon, although it's more because I am interested in what it's about, and after full reveal, I might just be as well disinterested in the game if they play it too safe and by the book. I am hoping for no open world follow the blinking cues on the map bullshit style of gameplay.

So, guys, which are your 3 most anticipated games of the show?

1 - Mass Effect 4. Really interested to see where they end up taking this series after 3 and after doing well with Dragon Age: Inquisition.
2 - Guerrilla games new Sci-fi fantasy RPG thing their working on (do hope we see it this year though can see them waiting till the PlayStation experience or next year).
3 - No Man's Sky. Looking forward to seeing more info on gameplay and what you actually do in it.
4 - Had to add a fourth which is Scalebound (one of the reason I brought my Xbox One) so more info on this will be good (and a release date for this year please)

So, guys, which are your 3 most anticipated games of the show?

  • Horizon. Robot dinosaur RPG, Guerrilla Games on PS4, a female protagonist - this is ticking loads of boxes for me. I just hope it's going to be there.
  • Gravity Rush 2. I hope it's there. Love the first game so much, I think Kat is a great character and it gave me the most amazing flying sensation I've ever had from a game. I'm really hyped for the idea that the sequel has (no doubt) shifted to PS4 development.
  • Surprises. Nothing I love more at a conference than some good surprises that leaks had not alluded to and we didn't already 'know' about.
I could have added Rime, The Tomorrow Children, No Man's Sky, Below, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Tearaway Unfolded, What Remains of Edith Finch, Shadow of the Beast, Hyper Light Drifter and others to that list in third place. Loads of smaller games I'm looking forward to in the near future.

So, guys, which are your 3 most anticipated games of the show?
1. TLG: This time, it's happening. I can feel it.
2. Scalebound: Wasn't a fan of Platinum, but MGR and Bayonetta 2 made me a believer.
3. Mirror's Edge 2: 'cause it's Mirror's Edge.

Final Fantasy VII for PS4 is available now...

...for preorder!

Guy in pink shirt: "Oh God, the camera is one me, oh God the camera is one me! Okay, okay, don't panic, look natural in front of this show of disaster."

So, are any of you on a media blackout for certain games that are expected to be at the show?

Here's my list:

Batman: Arkham Knight
Final Fantasy XV
Mad Max
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
No Man's Sky
Quantum Break
RiME
Splatoon
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Until Dawn
The Witness

I've seen enough of these titles to know they're day 1 purchases for me.
Might as well just skip E3 altogether. :P

By the way, in regards to that Shenmue "slanted images with extremely high probability of fakefakefake", here's another picture that was missed by the articles picking it up.

So, guys, which are your 3 most anticipated games of the show? Personally i can't wait for:

1. Fallout 4: it has been a while since i visited the wasteland and after watching Mad Max: Fury Road i need some post-apocalyptic action. I can't wait to sunk several hours of my life in this.
2. Scalebound: it's Platinum and it has dragons, nothing can go wrong (i hope). In my dreams this game is something like Devil May Cry x Monster Hunter, a killer formula if you ask me.
3. Project Horizon: yeah, we barely know something about this game, but the concept art is amazing and evocative at so many levels. It reminds me to Destiny (hopefully it's a better game) but with cyber dinosaurs.

1.) No Mans Sky - hopefully it is a very long trailer and the game is also playable on the show floor.

2.) WiLD - another highly ambitious project being created by an industry icon. I need to see more of this. Immediately.

3.) Kingdom Hearts 3 - what we've seen so far has looked really fantastic. can't wait to see more.

on other systems

Xbox - Scalebound. Not interested in much else on the MS front other then that

Nintendo - MH4U ( if this even exists ), Star Fox, Zelda U, Splatoon. Especially interested in Star Fox. And especially interested to see if another Metroid is going to make it this gen.
