E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Thanks for the link. That's a shame. I get the feeling we're not hearing the whole story with what's going on with it, but oh well.

I hope they at least hint at Animal Crossing U or another big 2015 title. I am very excited for XCX, but not nearly as excited for any of the other titles (maybe Fatal Frame?). WiiU does feel like it's winding down :/

Eh, at some point, development will have to transition to their next hardware (NX). However, I'd guess most of those people are coming from 3DS, since first party releases on 3DS seem to have slowed a huge amount in the past couple years. I think Wii U still has a healthy list of titles in development and that we'll see a few of those throughout this year.

Shocking news!

Okay, so I'm fairly sure this is nothing, but due to us all being in E3 mode, I'm posting this here for good measure. The tweet comes from a developer for Sony Bend (who is rumored to be making a new game) and they were the developers of Resistance: Retribution for PSP (which is the item in the image). Crazy speculation time: What if Sony Bend now holds the keys to the Resistance franchise and are bringing it to PS4? I'd be okay with that.

qGz4Sqk.png

I'm going to agree with GeoramA here, Bend made the best Resistance game but I don't think we'll ever see the series come back.

Insomniac pretty much destroyed the series with Resistance 2 and even when they went back to the original formula for 3 it was too late, the damage was done.

Only chance I could ever see it return is if they ported Retribution to PS4 for a digital only release and if it sold well they could make a Retribution 2 also as a download only game. Given Bends relatively small size that would make sense, I don't think they can handle full AAA game development but a smaller downloadable title would be much more in their scope.

PSX was a good, necessary lesson in hype management.

Especially since one of the journalist tweets that hyped one of the announcement was the Yakuza announcement.

It's good for people to realise that one person's megaton/legit hype announcement is another's trash. I mean, we've got folks who expect nothing less than Shenmue 3 or whatever calibre gigatons.

That's why I tend to keep my expectations low. I only hoped for another Uncharted 4 tease and the gameplay reveal had me "squeaking like a squirrel" (dunno if you can say this in English but where I live it means something like "being extremely exited").

Anyways, my philosophy in anticipation of big events is "Hope for the best, expect the worst", which though creates a very intense anticipation without getting over-hyped.

If it's not Bluepoint or ND themselves doing the port then chances are it's gonna be poorly done.

I think Bluepoint is working on a PlayStation remaster. I don't know what it could be other than this(maybe Gravity Rush or Beyond Two Souls, but I doubt it). I doubt Naughty Dog has the resources to divert attention from Uncharted 4 to remastering 3 games for release this Fall.

ND will defo be assisting given the foundation they laid with the TLoU Port. But Bluepoint working on a UC Collection seems legit, as I'd imagine QD to work on a Beyond Remaster themselves, just like ND handled the TLoU Port (both were 2013 games).

How big is Bluepoint anyways? They've been busy with Titanfall X360 'til mid 2014.....

So Zoetis got eventually banned? Hahahaha he made people go hype mode on the deleted Sony E3 thread, I guess he followed TheWorthyEdge's path, too much teasing xD

We are 3 weeks away from the show, I'm anticipating it a lot this year!! So much I'd like to hear about and a good chunk of it has all odds of being there. And whatever misses E3 will go straight to Gamescom, TGS or PGW so June-October is going to be a crazy ride =D

I wonder if Ubi will present Watch Dogs 2 this or next year.....

Does it even matter? It's the worst kept secret. We all know it's coming.

Well I know its not a very bold prediction, I am just curious to know if he might actually know something and its not another case of "tales from my ass". If not I won't even bother keeping an eye out for his podcast to see what those other leaks or whatever are.

Wonder how much Japanese games are we gonna see this E3, especially JRPGS?

The site he works for is good for the content they show, so I guess given he needs sources to get info from on cancelled/unreleased stuff, he is also likely to get stuff on upcoming games, even if thats not the intention of the site

An Uncharted Trilogy remaster not being done by Bluepoint or ND is a little alarming. Bluepoint has the best chops in the business on the Western front for delivering the best ports from console to console.

Uncharted 1, for all intents and purposes, needed quite a bit of work. The faces were waxy, the AA was nonexistent, and there was this awful screen tearing glitch.

Uncharted 2 and 3 made heavy use of the cell processor, and without disassembling, demantling, and assigning that code effectively- it could spell a recipe of frame drops.

This port will be a challenge to whoever takes it. I haven't even touched on the issues with bringing multiplayer over. Godspeed- unknown developer.

So here's what I think Sony has for E3 thus far from the 1st Party Studios:

Uncharted Collection announcement
Uncharted 4

Gravity Rush 2
Media Molecule's title unveiled
Horizon unveiled

Am I missing anything else?

level 5 jrpg

Aaah didnt read 1st party.

I am sure we'll see third party SCE published titles that are exclusive, but I'm trying to nail down WWS.

1. It's too soon for Polyphony. Those guys always like to take their sweet time before showing anything.

2. Zotei was banned, essentially signaling the Last Guardian hype isn't real.

3. God of War PS4 sounds to be very early in development.

Don't forget the Beyond Two Souls Remaster and possibly Gravity Rush 1 for PS4 ? ]

But yeah your list sounds right, I'd also add God of War 4 teased though as the "one more thing" at the end.

also . Powers Season 2 talk, The recently trademarked The Player (tv related), Morpheus and possibly Uncharted Movie first trailer or at least teaser.

They were banned for excessive teasing, they were verified about TLG.

Uncharted hasn't started filming yet and doesn't have a cast yet. Maybe they'll announce the casting and director at E3. :)

Aren't Guerrilla Cambridge working on something too?

He was banned because he was teasing excessively, even when warned not to. He was verified however. But just because you are verified doesn't mean you should tease so much, without saying much else.

Its amazing how one long development cycle can change the image of one developer. Only GT5 had an abnormally long development cycle. All other GT games were released in a timely fashion.

Its not too early for Polyphony to show anything. If anything, it's about god damn time. I think GT7 will be at E3. If it won't be there, I'll start seeing Polyphony like others do...

I'm using context clues. Verendus says we'll have 3 announcements that are notable from the WWS. So with that said, I think Bend, Guerilla, and SCEJ will be notable.

i think is way too early for the bend's game reveal, as far we know the development started in 2013

I expect
need
GT7 to be revealed. Kaz hinted at it as well.

Please no movies or TV shows at E3.

Please. I beg you, Sony. Please.

Yes, they will feature TV and films at their E3 conference probably! Just like the past 2 E3's.

Especially now that they [SCE] have a lot of video game film adaptations coming up, they will probably feature some of them:

- Ratchet & Clank (Focus Features, Blockade Entertainment, Rainmaker Entertainment, Insomniac Games, SCE)
- Sly Cooper (Blockade Entertainment, Rainmaker Entertainment)
- Uncharted (Columbia Pictures, Atlas Entertainment, Arad Productions)
- The Last of Us (Screen Gems, Naughty Dog, Ghost House Pictures)
- Gran Turismo (Columbia Pictures)
- Shadow of the Colossus (Columbia Pictures)

And also Pixels, Angry Birds, Sonic The Hedgehog, Watch Dogs, Metal Gear Solid from Columbia Pictures / Sony Pictures (but those aren't SCE IP's obviously).

I hope they'll show a new Ratchet & Clank trailer, and I hope they'll announce the casting and director on Uncharted and The Last of Us.

Not to mention, they probably have bigger plans for their PlayStation Originals initiative as well than just Powers. :) (well season 2 for Powers got greenlit already).

And they also have PS Vue launching this fall in the US I think, so they'll probably feature that as well.

As long as the TV/films stuff they show looks and sounds interesting I don't see what's wrong with it. It also shows great synergy with Sony Pictures for Sony Pictures productions.

It's not a poorly kept secret. There haven't been any leaks (that I know of).

It's like saying the next Mario Kart game is a poorly kept secret - no one actually knows anything, we just assume it's coming.

Sony will have ACS at their E3 conference, so there's big chance they'll talk about Assassin's Creed movie :(

Assassin's Creed film is not being distributed by Sony Pictures anymore (or production for that matter). ;) It passed on to 20th Century Fox. ;)

Like I said in my previous post, Sony Pictures' upcoming film adaptations are:

- Uncharted
- The Last of Us
- Gran Turismo
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Angry Birds
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Watch Dogs
- Metal Gear Solid

There's also Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper in terms of PlayStation franchises by SCE, but those won't be produced or distributed by Sony Pictures.
