Probably single player first since I doubt the servers will be live Thursday.
Edit : if the servers are up, single player until I'm comfortable with the gyro, then multi.
 
this is the first game where i'm honestly torn between diving into single player or multiplayer first, but oi'll probably go single so i can practice some strategies and get a better feel for the weapons

i really do hope the online community thrives for multiple years just like mario kart

Finished the solo player mode. I'd have been happy paying for this as a small eShop title alone, it was a ton of fun. I hope they create some DLC solo missions at some point, because the potential for super-challenging, super-creative stage design has only been hinted at here. Backstory is surprisingly cool and well done.

So I haven't read too much of this thread because I don't want to be spoiled too much. Do we have an idea of how long the single-player is?

Edit: Also, when do review embargoes go up?

I think I need to watch good roller players.
I already know about jumping if another roller run at you/throw ink farther or using the "shotgun" attack when needed, but almost nobody do that.
 
Contrary to the popular strategy of attacking first, I usually make sure the base is completely covered first, then slowly advance to the center. I don't like the rollers movement options, so I was using the splattershot Sr, but that .52 gal looks like it's for me, with the ink covering under the feet like the charger. Will be able to move forward quicker. Can't wait for the paintbrush either

Gotta echo this. I've been in all the major ladders, from Cal to twl, and I've haven't been this excited since splash damage had a good reputation.

Honestly, I hope they change this and I've never even used a roller in all 4 sessions of testfire. This guy rushed straight towards the roller and even looks as though he jumped straight on top of it (but it's hard to tell). And it felt like rollers were easy to kill enough, but I guess you just have to play extra careful with it.

In regards to the Charger loadouts, the Splatterscope seems like such a waste of a variation in game where there isn't different hitbox damages. Was hoping for more variations of the E-liter 3k but maybe the Squiffer will work well. Otherwise, looks like I'll be sticking with the regular Splatchargers.
 
So now this stream is show some woman play Captain Toad for the first time and repeatedly calling it a children's game while freaking out about how hard and scary it is...

So the Super Sea Snail can be gotten outside of Splatfests, but it costs a lot, which is fair. And you can see that lvl20 is the max. I wonder if they will consider increasing the max level through updates.
