Is it me or is the hype train not as supercharged this year as it was last E3? Or am I confusing E3 with the PSX event? There was one event where just about EVERYTHING was through the roof as far as hype went. Was either of the two shows.

I think you're thinking of PSX. It's better to not have guys like WorthyEdge around writing fan fiction.

You may be thinking PSX. The hype for that was the likes of which I've never seen before or since.

I guess so. Yeah, was that the event where he talked about TLG being at the show?

Haha, what a screw up. Speaking of which, he's still on twitter, writing his fan fiction away about E3.

The sooner we all come to accept TLG is dead, the better we'll all be.

It's a new generation. Why are we fixated on the past? There was even a funeral reception here. It's time we let go.

Many years have passed. Many tears have been shed. I weep got what might have been, but now, never will be. Fly high catbird. I'll always love you

You're in video game heaven with The Legend of Dragoon 2

Do you think Konami will cancel Suikoden considering what's been happening in their console stuff lately?
Well, they haven't, and I'm not too worried about it.

Konami prioritising things, considering the circumstances, and their own company direction, doesn't necessarily indicate anything particularly negative. They're a company which has a strong focus outside of video games.

All they're doing is prioritising their video game business in accordance with what makes sense from a business standpoint. I think a strong argument could be made that they're probably not doing a good job of diversifying in that segment, but I kind of doubt that they want to do that in the first place. Most of the issue is that it's a PR mess, but people also have pretty strong knee jerk reactions without really understanding what the company is doing. They're being smart, and focusing, and there's nothing wrong with that. Mobile is extremely important, and you can't really ignore it. Konami had a pretty huge hit a few years ago, and then they kind of dropped off. I understand they're doing better now, and like many other publishers, they're just focusing on a market which is very important. It's not a bad thing the company is trying to do what it's supposed to.

The complaints come from the fact that there are a lot of neglected IP in their portfolio, and also because of the recent controversy surrounding a pretty beloved game creator, but at the same time, it's not like they've decided to just drop everything. They're focusing, and fixing their structure. One thing Konami shares with many other Japanese publishers, is that their workflow structure, and development process, is not very efficient. Granted, due to how things are happening, it takes a good while for things to really stabilise, but I don't think Konami moving forward is going to necessarily be worse than what it was in comparison to the last 7 or 8 years.

Good question. Why not ask that to all the company's releasing remasters this gen?
Look, okay.

Have you ever heard of double standards? I employ them often.

Just saw Ex Machina, read this and felt nothing.
Am I human?

A serious question. What company do you gives you signals of most promising in VR area? Are you excited about VR, at it's begin?

While I want the TLG to be alive and well and revealed at E3. I'm not doing this to myself this time. Not expecting it to show up

That's the right mentality to have. If it shows up, get hyped like everyone else. If not, nothing was lost since you didn't expect it to be there anyway.

If TLG died and rose again as a Shadow of the Colossus sequel or spiritual successor then I will be more than happy. Never understood why so many folks were excited about controlling a griffin as a puzzle solving mechanic.

It honestly helps that I'm looking forward to so many things this E3. I just can't possibly be disappointed

Yep, very excited.

VR has to be experienced. I don't think everyone will necessarily like it, but I think it's pretty special. Right now, the problem is that we need to get people experiencing it. When it gets closer to launch, we'll send it everywhere we can, so as many people as possible can start trying it out. That's kind of key in terms of building excitement, and gaining traction in terms of people recommending it to others. The idea isn't necessarily that it's going to explode out of the gate, it's going to be a longer process. And developers have to learn what works, and take it from there. But the more people that try it, the more people that experience it, that will help in allowing word to spread.

In terms of games, I think there's a lot of great things that could be done with it. Not every genre is going to be a great fit, but there are genres that could be very fun. Thrill ride experiences, adventure games, open world settings which employ some kind of survival/crafting aspect, flying around, puzzle games, and other things of that nature. Things I've seen surrounding it are pretty exciting. Right now, the focus is on a lot of smaller titles, and digital titles, and mostly it's Japan Studio and London who are focusing on it, but there are lots of others working on content for it too. There's going to be some new stuff shown off at E3. There's a lot of things that can be done, and it's up to a lot of talented developers, indies, and other companies, to kind of see what works.

Not to mention, it doesn't have to be a single player experience. We have demos being made where you'll be able to have someone with the headset playing with someone else using a controller. That's because while you're immersed in what you see in front of you, the others can still see and play with you on the TV. That's an interesting element that could be quite great. Beyond games, VR can be used for other aspects too.

There's a lot of potential, and it'll likely take a few years for things to fall into place, but I'm personally very excited. It's different, and not a replacement for traditional gaming, but it's pretty cool.

This should be a good E3. Lots of studios have been silent for some time, and now that the games of past conferences are finally starting to release, there's a ton of empty space.

edit: The Last Guardian will be shown, fuck y'all

New Parasite Eve is pretty straightforward. A new PE game.

Straightforward in what sense ?

The last proper PE game was over a decade ago and third birthday was a drastic reboot on PSP.

Its hard to predict anything about an upcoming game really.Especially since Tabata and Toriyama are probably(and hopefully) not attached to the franchise anymore.

Can you elaborate on this ?

No Man's Sky and The Witness. If those get announced for Morpheus support, I will own a PS4 with Morpheus at launch.

I really want to know what VR is like... Hopefully some demos in Best Buy soon.

Yep, very excited

Pretty excited too. As you said, your concern is about what people that are not in our state, to be like us. As you said, people need to try it. See with their own eyes. I really hope that will be acomplished with success. And to be honest with you, I didn't thought on playing side by side with VR headset, and it sounds awesome to such extent...

Sometimes I think that to make people realize it's great, it is needed to make their "dreams" come true. Things that you really could only see in your dreams staying so close.

Even tamagochi would be incredible more fun haha.

I didn't tested it but would love to.
Really willing to be an early adopter ;)

Edit: Also, edited your answer to not make the page too long.

Hi Verendus,
Any chance 3rd party might make their game Morpheus compatible just for the camera? So basic dual shock controls but Morpheus camera? For example a fifa match but you're in the middle of the crowd.. Is stuff like that easily implanted or is Sony more focusing on full VR + Move experience?

All this info about Dark Souls 3 is making me more excited (and a little worried) about the BB DLC. I just want it to be good.Hope some info comes at or a little after E3.
