Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

when you're flying through the air and you look down and there's a fucking kraken parked on your landing zone
Look on the bright side, that person might have blown most of their special in camping you. Although if they've killed everyone else already the match is basically lost.

So, I just played the final boss.

Oddly enough how it feels in ranked battles (
the walls are your team mates blocking your path to victory
).

Is there a higher rank than HAWT Stuff? I get 1400 gold per 'map rotation' but I was wondering if I should press harder to get higher than that.

Man I wish I could play this with some friends :(

I think I am dmsilv1 on NID

That's the max.

Add yourself to the spreadsheet and add people off of it. You'll get plenty of people to play with.

Got this yesterday and love it!

Am level 5 now.

Did anyone else keep getting an internet error 30 seconds into the match yesterday evening?

Happened 5 times to me yesterday, not sure if its an IP conflict or a Nintendo server thing.

Marie and Callie are as annoying as ever today and repeating the same news since launch.

hope they patch that soon and give us option to skip them.

For what it's worth, I found a thread on Reddit that has some tips on Ranked. Some or most of it might be common sense.

http://www.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/39450s/any_tips_on_ranked_battles/

Someone mentioned if you're going on a losing streak, perhaps it's time to swap out your weapon. Perhaps I should do that.

This might come in handy.

I need to think of myself as an individual rather than like everyone else. Set my own way of helping the team.

Clear My Mind. Become The Squid I Was Born To Be:

P.S: I feel like a Lyric Change is coming! Stand By!

I know everyone uses it and says how good they are, it helps with the aiming I'll admit but when moving its terrible at least for me, I'm probably the only A+ rank that doesn't use motion controls
Not really I don't use motion controls either and think they are terrible

I'm not quite A+ rank but I'm b+ LEVEL 18

In Tune of Mulan's "I'll Make a Man Out of You": Link Here

Let's get down to Squidness
To defeat Bad Guys.
Did they send me Octolings
When I asked for Squids?

You're the Unfreshest I ever met
But you can bet before we're through
Mister, I'll make a Squid
Out of you.

Tranquil as a Saltspray
But on Walleye within.
Once you find your Splat Zone
You are sure to win.

You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot
And you haven't got Freshness.
Somehow I'll make a Squid
Out of you.

NotLiquid: I'm never gonna Charge Special
Heng: Say goodbye to those who knew me
Jintor: Boy, was I a fool in Mall for painting walls
Kangi: This guy's got them scared to death
MouldyK: Hope he doesn't Roll right through me
NotLiquid: Now I really wish that I knew how to swim

BE A SQUID
We must be swift as a coursing Inkbrush
BE A SQUID
With all the force of a great Kraken
BE A SQUID
With all the strength of a raging Inkstrike
Mysterious as the Green Striped Long Sleeve Tee!

Time is racing toward us
'til Knockouts arrive.
Heed my every Booyah
And you might Stay Fresh.

You're unsuited for the Splat of Zones
Go back to, Turf War you're through
How could I make a Squid
Out of you?

BE A SQUID
We must be swift as a coursing Inkbrush
BE A SQUID
With all the force of a great Kraken
BE A SQUID
With all the strength of a raging Inkstrike
Mysterious as the Pink-Shrimp Polo Tee!

BE A SQUID
We must be swift as a coursing Inkbrush
BE A SQUID
With all the force of a great Kraken
BE A SQUID
With all the strength of a raging Inkstrike
Mysterious as the White Anchor T-Shirt!
Stay Fresh!

This took way longer than I thought, but I do not regret it...besides the poor parts of it.

Trolling the enemy team on Port Mackerel by slipping behind enemy lines is a ton of fun.

Setup: Best to use a weapon that's idea for close combat. My weapon for this is the Splattershot Jr. with the Bubbler.
1. Focus on inking a line to the enemy base, preferably while the enemy is occupied. Try and stay undetected. This is probably the hardest part, and most reliant on luck.
2. Slip around to the side, and start inking up the side alleys.
3. If the enemy spot you or start trying to reclaim their territory, wait in ambush then splat them, preferably with a bubbler immediately being deployed.

This tactic allows you to ink up quite a bit of enemy territory, distract the enemy team if they notice, and force them to re-ink areas near their own base, wasting valuable time and manpower, making it easier for your team to ink up areas further away from them.

I'm officially done with Ranked Battle, I just realized the mode is everything I didn't buy Splatoon for, casual-laid-back-and-cover-everything-with-ink shooter.

Started playing this yesterday and this game is awesome. Most fun I've had in a multiplayer game in a long time. So polished on almost every level. Really impressed by the tech as well, great shaders and lighting + rock solid 60fps. Thanks Nintendo.

I have the 3 amiibo, but I am in-box collector, so this hurts...

I tend to do this a lot on that map. It's fun and very effective most of the time.

Anyway to change control options like motion other than being physically in the plaza like in game mp? Also what is the power up prices at the end of the game where it seems to be randomly given. What are those and do they only last a round and how do you know what they are?

Does anyone have that image a gaffer made which shows what perks are only main and what can appear as sub please?

Straight from OT1:

They do stack, but there seems to be caps and stuff. And it seems the abilities highlighted in red are the only ones that can be gotten as sub-abilities.

The ones that can't seem to be tied to specific types of gear.
Headgear: Opening Gambit, Last-Ditch Effort, Tenacity, Comeback
Clothing: Cold Blooded, Ninja Squid, Haunt, Recon
Shoes: Bomb Sniffer, Ink Resistance Up, Stealth Jump

Yep, I do this constantly. It's so easy to kill or hold off enemies while hiding in those alleys, and if the enemy is kind of dumb they'll always go for you there rather than just forgetting about you and going where they'll be most useful.

Oh, sweet, nice to know other people do it.

Also, I like to sneak over to the other side in Arowana Mall sometimes in Splat Zones to backstab snipers on the catwalks or ambush people trying to come through the middle.

See I think the average person isn't meant to see the news reports often enough that it would be an annoyance. Most people probably aren't playing more than 4 hours at a time. GAF isn't most people, though.

Here is a list of all the sub abilities + clothing effect:
I need to get my head around how this works as this what I am thinking so far.

There are 13 abilities possible abilities to roll. Most brands one has a 5x chance the other a 0.5x chance so think of it as 26 balls in a bag, two for each ability (13 different colours...ugh). We take away one to represent the 0.5x chance. There are 25 balls in the bag now. Now we add another 8 to represent the 5x chance. So the bag now has 33 balls 10 of which are one colour so the so those three abilities the same you sometimes see are a (assuming they are the increased chance) 2.7% chance? ( [10/33]^3)

It sounds kind of right but maybe I've misinterpreted something or the game handles the numbers oddly.

win, lose, win, lose, win, lose
mall and skatepark.. we so need new maps for ranked

plus hope they fix the hit boxes with jumping, half the hits don't register against those jumping idiots with rollers
