Omg omg omg :O

Its almost here!

Cant wait :D

Getting Bioshock Infinite + DLCs.

Hoping for Prince of Persia series to go on sale and Quake Collection as well.

Ori and the Blind Forest
Life is Strange
Westerado
Technobabylon

I have $30 to spend on those four games, in that order. I'm crossing my fingers, but I'm not expecting to be able to get all four. It's nice to dream though!

I already have an ides of what I'm going to get. CS Go is a for sure buy along with Ori. Question is how do I know the right time to buy? Has CS Go already sold for $5 before?

Are NBA 2k games usually included here?

Either wait until the games are featured on the front page or, if that doesn't happen and you really want them, buy them on the last day of the sale regardless. It's worth keeping in mind, though, that games whose general sale discounts are 75% or higher are unlikely to be discounted further and even if they are, the difference will likely be small (e.g. 75% off -> 85% off).

Regarding CS:GO in particular, it hasn't been more than 50% off since last March in an effort to somewhat combat hackers who stockpile spare copies, so you can expect that to hold true again this year (33% general discount; 50% featured deal discount).

Yes, but it's worth pointing out that 2K9 through 11 are no longer available (licence-related). 9 is Steamworks, though, so you could buy a retail copy.

CSGO sold for 5 bucks back when it wasn't as popular. Don't expect more than 50% off.

You'll know when to buy something when it's on the front page. Devs set two prices, 1 for the general discount, and another for the daily/flash/community vote.

I've mean to get Underrail for like two years. I remember passing on it one sale when it was maybe at $6 compared to $10 regularly, then it wasn't on sale the next sale, and now it's two summer sales later and I don't have it because of $4. None of that this year, at least when it comes to indies. If there's something I want and it's on sale at all, it's bought.

Underrail is really good and it's nearly complete now. Game is huge and worth every penny.

Hoping for a good discount on Cities Skylines. Has the steam version of FFXIV ever been on sale ? I checked the usual websites but it doesn't seem to keep track of ffxiv prices.

For me its:

Cities Skylines
The talos principle
Divinity: original sin (I plan to wait for that enhanced edition before playing it, but if it gets a good discount, I might as well buy it now already).

Judging by recent sales for Pillars of Eternity on Humble Bundle, GOG, etc, it doesn't look like this will be the sale to get the title on the cheap. It has been discounted a whopping 10% in those previous sales. Maybe you'll see a 20-25% daily for it.

I want a good price for Rome Total War 2. Been listening to Hardcore History a lot recently, so I'm in the mood. I just hope it's fixed sufficiently.

I'm brand new to Steam Sales so if I see a game I want at 40% off do I wait hours?? days?? to see if it drops to 50% or more or do I buy it at 40% as that is all it will be reduced to? I am sure I will figure it out when the time comes but my nerves might not take it if its a waiting game for further reductions lol

I think I've gotten over the hump of back catalog stuff now so the Steam sale won't have as much of an impact on my wallet this year. There simply isn't that much stuff out there that I want. :)

All dem Horror games, all dat money...

Looking mostly for some of the wackier games to go along with the horror games. Stuff like I Am Bread, maybe some cheap Simulator games to mess about with, Beseige..

Probably end up spending way too much on games I don't need, end up like Gaben pls. No Gaben, stahp.

If it is one of the featured Daily Deals, or any other sale which lasts days instead of the whole duration of the Event, you should buy it. If not: wait until the last day

If it's a flash deal or daily deal, you're good. If it's not, wait because it'll likely go lower

Always wait for it to appear on the daily / flash sales.

if it doesn't appear there pick it up on the last day

Enjoy your first sale. Its exciting getting so much for so little

Now that I have a PC actually capable of playing most games, this'll technically be my first legit Steam sale.

STALKER SoC is my priority purchase.

Borderlands: The Presequel
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Ori and the Blind Forest
Divinity: Original Sin (if it's particularly cheap)

I'm going to be sticking to a £50 budget this time around. There isn't much I want either, so that makes things easier.

Get ready to be disappointed
when you can't grab that amazing deal because it turns out you already own the game.

Oooh, good call. I will definitely be grabbing Divinity if it gets the proper steam sale treatment.

This steam sale should be the perfect opportunity to pick up Saints Row 4 as a daily.

I'm reaching the point where I've picked up the steam backlog I'm really interested and most new games I really wanted I bought when they came out.
