I think it's a good idea for MS to spread the announcements but Sony have a great opportunity to counter attack at PGW.
Still, I'm far less excited for the MS presser now...at the same time, maybe they have some nice surprises in store that they feel confident enough to make room for.

Now I have a feeling MS, instead of the "games, games, games" we've had the past 2 E3s, will now have a portion dedicated to "future of gaming" and start talking about occulus partnership, and hololens or something, as some sort of a pre-emptive strike against the morpheus push sony's going to be doing.

Pretty sure whatever version of the game there was is gone and is being done by a different team now if I recall correctly. I don't think anyone expects it to be shown again this year but you never know.

Yea. I think they think the W10 and Xbox integration is way cooler then anyone else will think. Think that tablet stuff they were pumping and the nfl stuff. That theater mode of OR may be a precursor of things to come at their presser.
Now that they've cleared the "imminent death of our console if we don't do something" hurdle I am curious to see how much they court the hardcore/enthusiast crowd this year and how much they revert to "one machine for everything" ideal, especially with the Windows 10 roll-out around the corner.
Well, we can probably still bank on new games from Rare and Twisted Pixel showing up! I'm not sure what else though at this point. Microsoft has been a bit unpredictable with the games they're publishing this generation. I'm not sure too many of us were expecting them to work with developers like Insomniac and Platinum. They could very well have some surprises.

In all honesty though, I'm betting lots of games(Zelda not included) are skipping e3 simply so they'll have more information to show at Gamescom this year.

More likely they will try and feed what remains successful about the Xbox division into the future Windows 10 service that Xbox is likely to become.
Just judging by the philosophy of the new top dogs in MS I would imagine that they will want to move away from the "box" and back into services.

Pre kinect but still doing weird NXE era... I see them doing that kind of show this year.
And its E3. They know that once they have a giant closing reveal and no train wrecks they will come out looking ok.

Completely agree. It'd be even better if it knew you were watching a horror movie via the Rift in that virtual living room and it'd occasionally pop stuff out at you like that.
That actually sounds pretty reasonable.
It's exactly like what Nintendo did at e3 2013, when Reggie's "one more thing" was Nintendoland fireworks.This happens at valve's conference

It won't be surprising, but they could close on the new Gears of War. It hasn't been in production for very long but I'm sure a demo could be made to get some excitement. With Scalebound and Crackdown moved to Gamescom, they'll have a few new things to show, I'm sure. They closed with a Crackdown trailer last year, so Gears of War wouldn't be out of the question!
This sounds good and definitely doable. Since it's televised, it can't go over the allotted time.

91 mins in 2013. I would add ME4 and Fallout 4 gameplay demos or trailers depending on what was shown at Bethesda/EA's press conferences.
So Quantum Break, Crackdown, and Scalebound are skipping E3 for Gamescom. Ok
What I don't get its why a lot of people are thinking the conference will be empty now. Do we know what MS has in store? To me, it just makes more room for new announcements.
I want to hear about games I haven't even thought of yet, and now there's a bigger chance that will happen. We're so close now!

All in all, this isn't too bad and I could see this happening. Only thing I could do is put the 1TB One after the Halo stuff and put Banjo before the Gears closer. Really though, this might not be too far off.

Skyrim wasn't at MS' conference in 2011 and Bethesda has their own conference the night before so no way Fallout 4 shows up.
Mass Effect might be a possibility depending on when it's releasing but I think EA will want to reveal the game at their own conference now that Mirror's Edge Catalyst is known. Maybe we'll see more of it at MS' Gamescom Conference.

Ehhh, I don't know if Rare's game will actually be Banjo. They've been talking about "doing new things" lately, and there was also all the Battletoads hints.
I think it's probably a new IP or Battletoads or something. A new Banjo is still possible, of course.
