Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Got my GFWL problems sorted out and had my fix of old MK.

And boy, is Mortal Kombat 2 absolute bullshit hard. Got more mad at the game than trying to fix it.

I have a craving for a space combat/strategy game. Don't really have much experience with the genres. Any good ones on sale and/or should be a daily/flash?

Hegemony games normally make the flash sales, no.1 (greece) is more expensive then no.2 (rome) at the moment
No.1 is fantastic, learn about Philip (Alexander the Greats father), plus pre-Philip DLC is included

I drew first blood picking up Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and was unprepared for the trippy dot eating odyssey it would take me on.

How is Endless Legends? I played and enjoyed Civ 5, and I love fantasy (dragons, magic, that sort of thing).

I have a GTX460, so I will be playing at minimum settings (which is not ideal).

I hear it's the shit. But I'd prod a bit more for people who have played it.

It's like a Pac-Man racing game I played it hours upon hours on 360. A buddy made fun of me that I was always playing it until I convinced him to try it and he got hooked.

For anyone who hasn't played h1z1 in awhile they have a new crate randomly dropping TF2 style in the game and impatient kids are paying $3+ because omg new cratez. Mine sold for $3.22 seconds after I listed it. Idle somewhere safe and try to get a drop while fiddling on computer or just get back in and kill the flood of sale buyers. You will starve/dehydrate so check back here and there.

I picked up Gauntlet, it's really not that great compared to the original or the (64?) version.
Gauntlet Legends on Dreamcast was the ultimate. Dark Legacy on PS2 was also pretty good, but the magic was Dreamcast. This new Gauntlet is very... brown. And that's reflective of how interesting it is.

how is it freaking amazing? it doesn't feel good using a keyboard + mouse and the learning curve for missions, flight makes it a bit unwelcoming.

Well.. I mean, I guess have my own opinion, but I play it in the Oculus Rift w/ Voice Attack and I have the X55 HOTAS as well. Mouse and keyboard actually work fine in my opinion, but this game shines with a HOTAS. Even cheap ones like the Thrustmaster X.

Really for these kinds of games, you have to play with a stick or at least a controller.

That's like saying the Flight Simulator games are bad because they're hard to control w/ mouse and keyboard. Same goes, for say, trying to play Cities: Skylines with a 360 controller.

I'll admit the game has a high learning curve, but stick with it for an hour or two and really try to learn the systems and the game will reward you back.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with the flight. The flying is really just perfect in this game. With a stick, you really do feel like you're in control of a heavy space ship. Add to that, the fun combat as well where it's not just point and shoot, but you really have to approach a target from the right angle, take advantage of targeting subsystems and know when to use lateral thrusters, etc There's certainly a learning curve, but it's rewarding.

Again, my opinion though..

Really been struggling on the fence with Super Time Force Ultra. Dunno. Anyone? Mini-reviews.

FOR NOW

we'll see what the change in the new version

They'll make it beige to reflect it instead! Even better, they'll just throw the turd emoji onto the "cover" art.

D:

i haven't actually played the new Gauntlet, but i have fond Memories of the arcade game. i'm waiting for the right opportunity to do some co-op

I did horrible with a controller on Eltie Dangerous. KBM is far better..especially if you set up your controls. Try that CRAB control setup up + voice attack.

Don't need a HOTAS now babyyyy

Do we know if there will there be a flash sale refresh in a half hour? Or are they really taking a day off?

Although the clock is messed up, it still says new deals every 12 hours so it's gotta be changing over soon. Probably just a bug that we can blame on Monster Game.

Is Endless Legend worth getting if you have never played a 4X strategy game? I'm interested in picking it up but I'm worried that it would be difficult to play as a newcomer.

I'm not exactly a master at 4X either, but I'd say if you're a newcomer to the genre and want to get a feel for it, Civilization V might be a better place to start. They're both very similar games, in reality, but I'd say Civ has a better interface and 'guides' the player better when teaching them the basics of the game.

Plus, and this might be a pro or a con, depending on what you're looking for, Civ 5 is based on history/reality. It's 'easier' to take a grasp or what the resources you can find/use are, as well as technologies and stuff like that when they're inspired in actual notions anyone with a basic knowledge of history will have. The fantasy inspired Endless Legend is a bit harder to get into due to this, I'd say.

Still, both good games. I'd just say Civ V is better for someone who's learning, but EL is in no way impossible to get into it. It's just slightly more complicated and, at the same time, has less material for you to read on the web. Tons of Civ guides scattered throughout the Internet will definitely help you out when starting, too.

Watch there not be one.

If that timer is right, why are we getting dailies at the same time but flash are on hold for another 24h? What.

Watch there not be one.

at the very least the prices from last night's flash sale seem to be back to normal prices (RIP 75% off korra)

I wonder if the site is just glitched and somewhere in the sea of sales there are 15 new sales that people will have to find.

The old flash sale prices have ended though, so its not the system that's borked, I guess they just haven't put up the deals yet?

E3 doesnt stop people from buying things

Oh, I agree. My ctrl+r is saying otherwise, though.

That's a bit off. Guess steamdb can find the sales for us if that's the case.

You tricked me. Or else the previous sales are completely forgettable.

Someone is a monster in this story.

Oh shit, I should have realized this when writing the post. I wanted "update" to come off more as a direction rather than an update about the store page updating. My apologies.
