Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

All of the "big" releases are worth it. They tend to add huge swaths and systems to the game. Originally you could only play (roughly) Catholic Europe. They added other faiths and swaths of the old world over time. I'd suggest, at the very least, Sword of Islam, Legacy of Rome, The Old Gods, and Way of Life. You can safely avoid the unit and song packs (though the additional music is nice)

DLC in my opinion of usefulness:
The Old Gods (play as pagan ruler, longer time frame)
Legacy of Rome (retinues, byzantine stuff)
The Republic (merchant kingdoms, my fav type)
Sons of Abraham (play as Jewish ruler, stuff for catholics and muslims)
Way of Life (events to give fun when not at war)
Sword of Islam (play as Muslim ruler)
Charlemagne (even longer time frame, story driven events for key characters)
Rajas of India (play as Indian religions, not much here)

Some people love playing as a Muslim or Indian ruler and would move those higher. There is also a Ruler Designer DLC, but pretty much everything in that can be done via console if you don't care about achievements.

Appreciate the responses, thanks!

Game is awesome and worth every penny.

Yup. With the wonders of credit you'll always have enough money to buy it.

This case is definitively closed.

I am starting the debate by listing all arguments against buying Divitiny: Original Sin right now.

1. You already have it.

Done.

There is no debate. There is only buy.

You'll get the enhanced edition for free too when it comes out...

Haha looks like I'm definitely buying it.

Hell, if it comes around cheaper in the sales, I guess I can just get a refund on my original purchase and buy it back at a cheaper price.

lords of the fallen lads?

No.

The best things about the game are the systems that are directly copied from the Dark Souls games. In each area where they attempted to do their own thing (story, magic system, classes, lack of any multi-player), they came out with something sub-par.

In addition, I was really disappointed by the lack of enemy diversity, and there have been numerous technical issues with the game (patched and working for some, but not for others).

If you didn't like Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2, you won't like this. If you do like the Souls games, you might as well just play one of them again.

This is probably the best day of the sale so far, Divinity franchise, Shadowrun franchise, Ys still going,
Neptunia franchise
...

Also means that I don't have to buy anything though!

Still waiting for a Telltale sale so I can scoop up TWD S2 and GoT.

And I've got to play some more Divinity: Original Sin before I bite on PoE. I can wait for PoE to hit $10 before I go for it.

waiting for Trails in the Sky, Street Fighter IV. Too broke this sale.

Would buy Neptunia if it didn't have ungodly minimum settings (btw playing on my laptop currently )

Love Cook, Serve, Delicious. Would play it more from my couch except that I can't quite get used to the controller commands as easily as the keyboard ones.

Gotta get back into it though. Really wanna unlock more indie guest characters.

I think Trails in the Sky was supposed to be the 15 mil click game that never got unlocked from the Monster Summer sale game :(

So I made this Animal Crossing like game called Castaway Paradise. It's 50% off. Steam will never ever feature it because it's not hardcore enough :/

Man I sure love it when two dlcs are nearly as expensive as a GOTY edition of a game and one of them is as much as the base game.

At least are The Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witch dlcs worth it for $5 each? How much content do these add individually?

Exactly what I was thinking since the tags sounded about right for it, would have also made sense that their main sale starts the same day that one of their games gets a milestone deal (no idea why TiTS would be picked for that and not something like Akiba). It was also 15 bil clicks since they seem to have noticed that everyone is using a script and based the number on that.

Agarest was already daily the day before yesterday, that would be lame to put in there. I think it was Rime Berta or TiTS. Most likely the former though.

Oh yeah Rime is a good guess. Tits was already 10$ on GOG during their sale so if it doesn't reach that price in this sale it will be disappointing.

I'm in the same situation... I think both are good but not likely more than a few hours to play through. Each one adds another few missions. Maybe worth it if you expect to play through them twice. I'm passing for now.

Oh, this is yours!
Tell me, will there ever be a prussian theme pack?

I think 10$ is more than realistic. It's already at 11 Euro, I think 50% or more would be possible.

I'm torn on Divinity OS myself. I was hoping it would be at most 20$...
You get two games with one buy. If you own the original Original Sin you get the EE too for free. Also it's a great game. Both in quality and in size. Stop thinking, start buying.

I'm thinking of buying the BioShock Triple Pack. I really enjoyed/loved all three games on the PS3 so I'd like them on PC now too, but too bad all DLC isn't included. I'd love a Complete BioShock Pack with Minerva's Den and both Burial at Sea episodes, with of course a somewhat higher price.

If I want to buy the DLC separate with the Triple Pack, it'll cost me €8,99 for the Triple Pack + €3,39 for Minerva's Den + €9,99 for both Burial at Sea episodes = € 22.37, which in hindsight may be a little much considering I have a rather substantial backlog until the pack hits sales again.

Hmm.
