Gonna be one of those games that will make you cry. I will hate it all the way to the ending screen with watered eyes.

You know, I've only been a member on here for almost two years now so I can't say whether I think you actually care, are pretending to care, or wanted our salty tears to enjoy for another year. What I can say is that it's been an honor to go on this journey and go against the doubters (including you) in hopes of seeing something I've been waiting years for. It bothers me that people are actually talking about graphics that is done by a small team within a studio compared to the 200+ man developers of Naughty Dog and Guerilla Games.

they killed the audience noise when they went into the gameplay......which is so disappointing because I would have loved to have heard the people just shocked and gasped.

I cried dude, plain and simple. I love the Team ICO games, and I've been waiting for TLG ever since I first saw it, so seeing this re-reveal was pure catharsis. There was also added personal poignancy in the fact that my pet cat of 17 years died a month before the return of Trico. I know that sounds schmaltzy and will have some rolling their eyes, but the timing of it all hit me hard.

I mean I was there. There wasn't much noise at all. I thought it fell a little flat to be honest. I'm going to compare this to microsofts BC announcement-that was much more lively. Audible gasps and all that.

That said, I'm glad for people who waited so long for this. I do hope the wait was worth it

As far as I recall, when I looked back at staffers, a lot of them were no longer employed by Sony at some point but they probably came back together after stuff was finalized for the PS4 version.

I feel like a lot of people who are disappointed would have been disappointed regardless of what we were shown >_>

Imagine a stage demo of Ico. That would be boring, too, aside from the novelty of the aesthetic. This is likely a game that doesn't show well in a decontextualized, 5-minute chunk. I mean, it might suck in the end, but there's no way to make this kind of game look glitzy and glamorous.

I had tears rolling down my face. I couldn't help it... I just couldn't. The relationship between the kid and the creature evokes some feelings within me I guess, but we've been waiting for so long and it's finally re-revealed—looking just as I hoped it would. I'm relieved that they didn't change the look of the game, and while the graphics aren't the best, it's not concerning to me at all. If Ueda delivers anything on the level of Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, I'll be really happy.
 
I think it's a big indicator for those of us who've been on GAF and other forums for a while that in the intervening years, a lot of graphics chasing has crept in - more than we ever thought. ICO and Shadow were never showcases in graphics tech - but art direction.

If people were expecting some huge technical graphical upgrade, I think it says more about the damage done to games discussion by these big press events and hyping everything up. It looked like a PS4 version of the most interestingly art directed PS3 game that never got finished. I wouldn't *want* it to be radically overhauled, though I certainly appreciate good animation, textures, lighting.

Still have to be cautiously optimistic because, well, we've been here before.
