You will still have your sexy bodies, people are asking diversity not KILL SEXY WITH FIRE.
A lot of posters sure do come off that way. Look at how Cammy is being body shamed.

Hopefully these women were planned at the start and not because feminism.
Come on now. That's a pretty disingenuous exaggeration of that thread. 2 people saying they're legitimately displeased isn't "body shamed". The vast majority of replies are along the lines of "meh" (including myself).A lot of posters sure do come off that way. Look at how Cammy is being body shamed.

Not sure how good an example she is though. She was shown all of 5 seconds where one one of those you could clearly see her white panties.![]()
From Nier 2
I am terribly afraid that's the case. The fact that most of the responses mirror that gives me a sinking feeling feminism being about equality doesn't extend past a certain point when it comes to some people who wave that banner.
I can guarantee feminism played significant roles in realizing all of these protagonists. Why is that a problem?
Sorry bud, but the feminist push in games is pretty much going to ultimately only benefit white women. We'll get one main hero or so every few years but for the most part PoC's will continue to remain mostly sidekicks and npc's.
Yeah, design looked awfully dolled up. Big meh.Not sure how good an example she is though. She was shown all of 5 seconds where one one of those you could clearly see her white panties.
I would never say this, but others see it as dishonest pandering.I can guarantee feminism played significant roles in realizing all of these protagonists. Why is that a problem?
Also my first time, looks cool. Very reminiscent of Sworcery (also female protag IIRC).Woah. Why have I never seen this game before?
i noticed this as well.
Didn't the Halo 5 coop gameplay have 2/4 female characters.
Fallout can have a female protagonist.
We had multiple women presenting during the conferences.
Say what you will about the media coverage about female representation in gaming, but the publishers / developers seem to have really taken the hint.
E3 this year wasn't as much of a sausage fest as last year's, both in games as well as presenters, and that's no coincidence.
There's speculation in the Nier 2 thread that this may actually be Kaine. Not sure how good an example she is though. She was shown all of 5 seconds where one one of those you could clearly see her white panties.
Guys, I think the main character really is Kaine.
Take a closer look.
Kaine Spoilers:You can see her, uh... bulge.
What most developers ever want is to get positive reinforcement through buzz and sales. People clamoring for women and a certain depiction of women is the proverbial path laid out for them. The devs shouldnt have to take any hints and develop what the fuck they want.
I can guarantee feminism played significant roles in realizing all of these protagonists. Why is that a problem?
Because they're worried that it will affect the original creative visions that focus groups give to developers.
Alright, I don't entirely disagree with him. Don't have a problem with it per se but I like that characters like Elle or Tripp for example for being progressive characters, yet not a reaction to Anita Sarkeesian, etc.
Cloud from FF7 remake.
What if they want to listen to feedback? The devs shouldnt have to take any hints and develop what the fuck they want.

What's the over/under on a hilarious misinterpretation of "censorship" appearing in this thread? What if they want to listen to feedback?

Kainé is neither male nor female.
That's the thing that confuses me. Are people legitimately worried about poor ol' pubs being strong-armed into using female protagonists as opposed to their more focus-tested bald, male counterparts? Who are these publishers more worried about pissing off Tumblr than turning a buck?
I think they can relax. Chances are, if a game like Dishonored 2 or Horizon has a female protagonist it's because the devs wanted it to. Not sure why they don't show the same amount of concern for the amount of devs who are likely strong-armed into normalizing their character designs for mass appeal.
If the character is good, does it matter?
I don't think anyone's going into the boardroom thinking "alright, Sarkeesian's used her feminazi legions to hold the governor hostage, and the only way we're going to get him back is if we make a game where a woman does things right just now!"
I think it's actually a bit dumb to put that many resources into a remake. Not really related to the overall discussion, but listening to your fans can sometimes be the worst thing you can do.I take it you were upset that they announced FF7 Remake and Shenmue 3
Nope, intersex.Seems like they did.
Pretty sure she's female.

Cloud from FF7 remake.
Except for Faith. They all look white.
When will we get some dark skin representation. o:
Gotta say, it did feel that we had more prominent female characters at this year's E3 versus last year's. We had at least four by my count:
Emily Caldwin in Dishonored 2
Aloy in Horizon
Lara Croft in Tomb Raider
Evie Frye in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
Am I missing any? Is my memory of last year spotty?
Edit:
Missed Faith in Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Edit 2:
Also the protagonist of Recore

first their subreddit gets banned, then E3 kills it with a strong female presence
sorry goobergate!
Doing it just for the sake off.
You wont get much of an interesting character if they are just slapping a skin on just to make ppl happy.
If the character is meant to be female and the personality was thought out, good stuff.
Unfortunately, what you're watching has always been a major problem with this movement.
noted. Won't post in this thread again.Females are (slightly over) half of the population. They're not a minority like minorities are. There's never going to be a point where you see minorities represented in games to the same degree as females or white people.
But don't despair — look how much help being loud about issues did for feminism this year! Let's be loud about other issues to bring up other representation in the following years. Just, you know, preferably not shitting in a thread where we're celebrating our progress so far!![]()
.What a diverse group...
How often are male characters made just for the sake of it because slapping a dick on a character is the "default?"

Minorities want SOME representation NOT all representation. So your comment about white people is ultimately meaningless.
Don't get me wrong they made progress, it would be nice to life in a world with my diverse characters and not the usual standard white straight male.
