Batman: Arkham Knight - Review Thread

Ah, ok. Whew. I figured if some orderes went through they might be offered a replacement or something anyway. Tomorrow feels so far away.

Yeah. Here's what the LE actually looks like with the packaging and statue:

I know its a long shot but does anyone here have any idea about PC version performance? Really confused between PC and PS4 version. I can play Witcher 3 at High/Ultra on 1080p on my PC, but that game is optimized pretty well.

It's an Unreal Engine 3 game, I'd be shocked if it doesn't perform well. I mean, I know they've added a bunch of stuff to the engine, but all the previous games ran amazingly well. The only performance issues were with the Nvidia Physx stuff and the DX11 specific features. If you ignore the PC-specific bells and whistles, I'm sure it'll massively outperform the PS4 version.

With any luck, the PC-specific stuff won't be broken on launch, but I'm just being realistically pessimistic.

For those that ordered the Premium Edition from GMG: The codes I got was for the regular version, the season pass shows up as unpurchased in my library

EDIT:

Never mind. I'm a dumbass

So, if when i put my Nuuvem code on Steam i get the "insert the original game's code first" message, what should i do? I only have one code.

Wonder if I should go preorder this today. I hate getting hassled by Gamestop because I didn't preorder and theyact like they are out of copies.

Lol Amz UK shipped my PC DVD order id fogotten about that. This is now unavaible to buy right, so its a collectors edition henceforth! Ebay or flog to some GAFer.. mmm :)

Looks like i'll get my game a day later according to Amazon. If im lucky they will send me a 10 € coupon thingie again, like they did with Second Son last year. Goddamnit Amazon.

Yeah I was nervous because they hadn't confirmed my shipment until today. Still on-time for tomorrow.

I think we need OTs a little earlier than the day before since this thread has drifted far beyond a reviews thread. We need a place for GAFer impressions and general discussion.

Debating on whether I should get this on PS4 or Steam. It looks like I just barely meet the recommended requirements (aside from my video card only having 2GB of Memory instead of 3GB). What do you guys think?

Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz | AMD FX-8350, 4.0 GHz (I have an i7 920 overclocked to 3.9GHz)
Memory: 8 GB RAM (12 GB RAM)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 - 3 GB Memory Recommended (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 - 2 GB)

^^^

I would go with the PC version. If you can't hit a steady 60fps then you could always lock it to 30fps and still have a better IQ than the PS4 one.

Today is my last day off. I wonder if there's a way to unlock the game early using a vpn. It's already tuesday in some countries.

Still haven't gotten my Nuuvem code. =[

Has anyone's Nuuvem code even worked, btw?

Got the code: Didn't work (was for the DLC).

Now they took it away from the page, lol.

They probably got the wrong code up, or something like that.

I still sent a ticket to support, just in case.

I pre-ordered the game despite my gtx560 (1.3GB of VRAM).

There's always hope !

This is my plan. I have a 670GTX and i5-3570k combo, which I was thinking about upgrading before I saw how well it handles Witcher 3 when locked at 1080p30. I think it's got another year or so left in it, easy.

One benefit of PS4 is that you can trade it in if you dont like it (so the importance of that being proportional to your liking of the games/batman)

Greenman has that crazy 40% off code deal though which I dont understand - that must be a significant loss per unit

The PS4 version seems to be solid as per Digital Foundry's preliminary analysis (30fps virtually all the time and with minimal stutter/pop-in) and I would assume the 3GB VRAM requirement means you'd have to sacrifice texture quality to a degree in order for your 2GB VRAM ceiling not to be an issue.

If you meet the recommended then you should definitely get PC. Chances are high you'll be able to get 60fps one way or another and even if you can't then you can lock it to 30 and have a better looking version than PS4. Also the game is much cheaper on PC at the moment.

I did. Many times actually. But each time was maybe years apart. I don't know which vpn to use. I don't remember.

FlyVPN offers free servers in just about every region, but there are session limits to be mindful of, which means switching to Offline Mode after the game has unlocked as if you revert back to your usual IP mid-game, your in-game status will cease, which breaks Steamworks functionality (Steam wouldn't boot you out of the game mid-session, to be clear). Again, though, the game is currently set to unlock worldwide at 10am PT, so no region is getting it sooner than the rest unless WB has Valve set region-specific unlock times.

Welp. Wasn't going to get this but I'm getting it for free (thank you Nvidia). So... guess I'll check it out and maybe take some screenshots on PC :)

40% off? Do you have a link to this deal and I'm assuming it's a code that will activate on Steam?

Edit: I think I read it wrong, as you are referring to the PS4 and trade ins, so I'm now realizing you probably are talking about 40% off of a PS4 version, which I'm still interested in if you have the link.
