Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Comic-Con Trailer

This trailer actually made it feel like Batman might be the focus of the film in that Superman's issues are the catalyst to getting Batman out of retirement, who has been plagued with his own history. I feel it's an interesting parallel to 9/11 and people who joined the military or re-enlisted due to the event.

All I can think of is 9/11.
I get a knot in my stomach when I see that scene.

Yeah, I got 9/11 vibes from that collapsing building scene as well. And Bruce ran towards the building like, well, Batman. It's been almost 14 years or I'd be yelling "TOO SOON."

But yeah, IMHO, this trailer was Batman heavy. We got all his reasons for re-suiting up and kicking ass, and Affleck was showing all the pain and rage. Wanyefleck and Batfleck. Poor Supes almost felt like a stranger in his own trailer.

And I'm strangely liking Eisenberg's Lex. He might be a bit too Joker, but it's nice to see a little dark humor in all the angst. Even if the 'red capes' joke is a little lame.

Wait, does Suicide Squad take place in this movie's universe ?

Yes it does.

Suicide Squad character appearance spoilers/trailer spoilers
Batfleck is in it, is seen on top of the Joker-mobile in the trailer, and was also seen on the suicide squad set in Toronto.

Oh wow. I had no idea. It'll be weird: isn't that movie's tone supposed to be a lot lighter and funnier than MoS and BvS ?

Jesus, no. If anything, it should be darker than BvS (though it'll likely be on par), with some dark humor peppered in. Supervillains handling black ops for the government, after all.

Think of it more as street level view of the DCCU.

Wow. That was awesome.

Really hyped about Ben Affleck as Batman.

I like how they seem to be having fun with the Lex Luthor character.

Everything so far looks like this will be a great film.

I dunno, something just isn't clicking with me on this film, I want it to be good but I can't shake this suspicion that this is going to be a mess.

Eisenberg is adding some much needed levity and cheesiness to it all.

It's like he's the only one who sees how absurd all these superheroes and costumes are.

"LOL RED CAPES LOL!"

Not feeling it. Not feeling the director, cast, suit, anything that was shown. Don't like what I see from Suicide Squad either.

Maybe the next reboot in 2025 will be for me.

Hiding him and the other real villain aside from Lex. How wonder how far into the movie we have even seen.

Some of this stuff has to be from the third act based on the level of destruction seen in the trailer, especially the electrical explosion and the batwing flying over the burning forest scenes.

This trailer has made me tentatively excited for the movie, and convinced me that an Irredeemable movie must be made; Might as well make Supergod too at this point.

Tying this film into MoS just seems a really odd decision to me. I, nor most people I know, haven't seen that film and yet it seems more integral to the plot of this one than say Nolan's Batman films did with Batman Begins.

I will forever love more the animated version :P

The revised comic book one is the best

Just imagine if people hadn't complained about mos destruction there would be no motive to introduce batman like this
Did they not think they were going to make this movie while they were doing Man of Steel? I would have imagined they had to think about this during the first movie, and created that plot point then. It would be really interesting if the reason they introduced Batman like this was because of fan reaction.

I still need to see MoS. I think.

i feel like Lex casting is a missed opportunity for Bryan Cranston. I mean did he turn them down, so they went with Eisenberg, because initially they wanted Heisenberg?

I'll never give a shit about Superman, but I like pretty much everything in this trailer. I'm still looking forward to the standalone Batman film more though.

AFAIK...the only thing Goyer and Snyder talked about the repercussion from MoS was the
neck snapping
thing.

Bringing in Batman was decided after MOS was finished, while they were brainstorming who Superman should fight next.

Nah, they said during the making of the film they followed Nolans philosophy of putting absolutely everything into the current movie and making the best possible result, and think about sequels later on. The film itself forgets about the destrucion and consequence immediately after it happens, there's no way this was planned all along.

I liked the trailer, but I don't now how you can take all of those characters and action scenes and construct a reasonably paced / interesting movie that is shorter than 3 hours.

1st act the trial , intro of batman and wonder woman
2nd act the battle between batman and superman
3rd act the rise of lex Luther as superman's arch villain

I am really glad they are building off of what happened in Man of Steel. I think it is a great way to make the movie universe more cohesive. The ending to Man of Steel was a major event and it makes sense to pick up where it left off.

You have plenty of time to catch up and watch Man of Steel too.

Looks bloody serious but a lot better than the first trailer. If they frame it as a Batman film rather than a Superman film then it works.

Also, I hate how no one ever bloody moves in Snyder's dramatic scenes.

The best part of building off the events of Man of Steel is that it aligns the people who cried about the death toll, aka the ones who can't seem to comprehend what is actually being presented on screen with the poor saps with protest signs who are influenced by Lex Luthor's false slander
