Having
Amazo
is a waste in BvS.
His whole shtick is he absorbs/mimics the powers of other metas. All he would have is Superman (and maybe Wonder Woman). Save him for a Justice League, intro scene smackdown.

It's the only option they got for a credible threat or they'd somehow have to shoehorn in
Starro the Conqueror or DC Thanos aka Darkseid.

Err, the biggest city in America was completely destroyed

No it wasn't.

rewatch the movie. It was maybe a square mile at most, most of which was wrecked before Superman even got there.

This argument is old and tired. That it's being repurposed as a Luthor scam is pretty clever. And I'm just not saying that because I called it two years ago. Although that helps.

So no one cares Batman is a murderer ?

Hard to know if we don't know the context, it all seems like a dreamstate... I mean Superman also has a legion of soldiers...

Amazing that he would STILL be wearing a mask.

He wouldn't be Batman if he wasn't wearing that mask...

There is zero chance the death toll will be in the millions. I would guess it will be in the thousands, ala 9/11.

So wait, how does this make Lex Luthor anything other than a hero again? We started a war over 9/11, and this is like a block full of 9/11s.

"Hey man, I don't see why you hate me so much. I only killed thousands of people! Don't be a dick."

Err, the biggest city in America was completely destroyed 😳

Like it's not even cool if a hundred people died anyway lol

It was a few blocks. Man, they hyperbole surrounding that scene is insane. I suppose you think all of New York was completely destroyed in the Avengers as well.

Exactly.

I have no issue with Lex Luthor using this to push his agenda, in fact I mentioned this as a possibility after MoS.

What I was addressing was you saying "millions" would be killed. I think that is a bit silly.

Do we know if he even has an agenda? What if he's just a concerned citizen :p

Not millions bad.
What is this even supposed to mean? Think of those thousands of mourning families.

So like if some guy blew up a few blocks of downtown New York City, it wouldn't be that bad?

No, but you're moving goal posts. First it was millions of people, then it was the entire city and now it's about Luthor. Of course Luthor is going to spin it to make Superman to be the bad guy. That's Luthor. It's what he does so what exactly are you getting at?

They could just make changes to the character. The main draw of this movie is Batman and Superman, the fight, and how they reconcile.
Doomsday
could be just something thrown in so the heroes have someone to fight for a cool 3rd act action sequence.

If you're going to change his character to the point that he's a different character, then why put him in the first place? Remember Bane in Batman and Robin? Get a different character or make up a new one. Save
Doomsday
for the
Death of Superman movie.

The point is that Luthor doesn't have to spin it at all haha. Superman got all of those people killed, and it's weird that they decided to make a series of Superman movies that show how Lex was right all along. The films are completely misguided because they decided to make Superman a menace to society, despite the fact that they never shut up about how much of a second coming of Christ he is.

Pretty sure the dream thing is Batman thinking Superman will be evil and so in fighting him he becomes evil too. Can't just be about Supe, has to be about where he is heading himself too.

The whole point is you in real life is you in your dream life, so him killing in his dream may be indicative of how much he wants to break his "no kill" rule in reality.

Of it may indicate what has to happen for him to break his no killing rule

Ok now you are just being cheeky. Lex Luthor will likely stoke the fires, not only demonizing Superman but elevating himself and his solutions as the answer.

The whole, "if you aren't with me, you're with the terrorists" bullshit we saw after 9/11.

We don't even know if they will even do a movie based on that. They haven't even announced an MoS sequel yet. And as pointed out by just about everybody here nobody cares for that character because he's simple and uninteresting. Use him as fodder for an action scene so the Trinity have a reason to team up and then we can move on to better villains.

You're spinning it right now. The same way Luthor would. It's hilarious you don't see that.

And what films? There's only one.

This is kind of a dumb question.
Okay?
No he didn't.
That's horrible, don't you have any empathy?

And literally 0 of those people would have died if not for Superman, and he did 0 to protect them. If the rumors for the villain in this next film are correct, they wouldn't exist without Superman either.

Lex isn't evil at all in this film!

Why do you think that? He doesn't have to stroke any fires, the worst disaster in American history just happened in Metropolis. I'd consider him more of a villain if he wasn't trying to get people to hate Superman.

Visually the trailer looks fantastic, but that is not a shock coming from Snyder. I am still cold to the film overall, but will still be there for the first showing.

I do wonder if this storyline was their original intent for the MoS sequel, or if they went this way based on the reactions and criticisms that MoS got after it released.

Technically Luthor absolutely has a point

Superman being on earth is most definitely the cause of the destruction

If Luthor is saying things would've been better if Superman never appeared, then he would absolutely be right.

Starro the Conqueror or DC Thanos aka Darkseid.

Well in regard to those options:
Starro could be played creepy (DC seems to be playing up the whole hive mind/mind control angle the most), and the comic book nerd in me has to correct you in saying that Thanos is Marvel's Darkseid (Darkseid was 70, Thanos 73).
Sorry, my nerd card was in danger of being revoked.

No, I dont have any empathy for fictional bystanders in a movie.

For an imaginary number of non-existent faceless fictional people?
Sure
That's my whole point haha. The only reason to think Lex would be a bad dude is because he normally is, but Superman isn't usually a harbinger of destruction either.

No, I dont have any empathy for fictional bystanders in a movie.
??? Have you never had feelings from any movie then? That's like the whole emotional motivator of this movie based on that trailer.

I promise you they will eventually do a movie based on that. They've already tried multiple times.

I agree that he is an uninteresting character. He is a character that has one role. Let him fill that role.

A little Off-Topic

Guys I'm huge Batman fan, I didn't start reading Batman till the New 52. My question what Batman stories can we get if he has been Batman for 20 years already? Can we get the Red Hood? Maybe that's why Arkham Knight was the way it was, because WB/DC is really anal when it comes to use different adaptations.

I'm really hyped for this I still remember the crossover in the cartoons when Lex hired Joker to kill Superman. If I have to be honest I kinda would of liked a Batman with a little less mileage on him.
