That's true haha, but this tone is bleeding into the whole new DC films too. It's a shame that DC is afraid to put super heroes in their super hero movies.

There are tons of stories about how Superman can't save everyone and every few years there's some comic event where Superman can't save the Earth or Universe and countless people die.
Even his encounters with characters like Darkseid or Mongol end at best in a draw 9/10 and result in them continuing to kill, maim or hurt hundreds of thousands. Same for plenty of his other bigger threat villains.

Its a great refresh for those who may not remember what happened in MoS and snips out Superman's origin story quite well while giving you the needed details. I think they'll do the same for Batman as well with just a quick flashback, showing that Batman has already been in Gotham for some time.

Probably mentioned already but the shot at 2:55 is straight out of The Dark Knight Returns. The iconic shot with the lightning silhouetting Batman in that leaping crouch pose with left arm up, right arm straight down. Such a nice touch! (not my avatar. the other iconic image)

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
Apparently Gotham and Metropolis are twin cities, literally right next to each other separated by a bridge (I think). That's not how it is in the comics, but they are making it like this in the movie to make it work. The upper class tend to stay in Metropolis while the lower class tend to stay in Gotham -- it would make sense for Bruce to have a lot of his corporate buildings in Metropolis under this idea, so it would make sense for him to be visiting Metropolis as it happened (or for him to travel to Metropolis once he hears about Superman being revealed to the world).
If you are going to keep posting at least trim that awful white off the bottom.
Here I did it for you:
Bruce Wayne goes to Metropolis for business all the time, so even if they were twin cities, Wayne would still have a reason to be there.
Get used to it, just like Marvel has a visual identity with it's films so will BvS & Justice League I-II.
That's what happens when you use the same director.

Serious question. Do you read superman comics regularly? What is your knowledge of his comic book stories? The theme that he can't save everyone comes up quite often in the comic books

The trailer isn't selling me on the movie yet and I'm getting the feeling Irons will steal the show like Costner and Crowe did for me in MoS.

Superman was pretty super in Man of Steel. So much so he saved billions. He literally saved more people in MoS than Reeves Supes did. Shit, he save the world twice in MoS.
They're not that far from each other in the comics. Maybe 50-100 miles.

I've read all of the best Superman books, but I stopped reading his newer ones because I don't think they're very good. My favorite stuff is Grant Morrison's take as I'm sure you've guessed.
I really don't think it counts as a super hero is thousands of people die haha

So far, I've only read Red Robin in the first volume of Batman Inc and I thought his take on the cowl, if that is what you're talking about here, actually looked really cool, and set him apart visually from the rest of the bat family. The little eye masks always seemed dorky to me, I like them well enough on DIck and Damian, 2 is enough for me !

That's true. Bruce Wayne does have buildings in Metropolis, and it would make sense for Bruce Wayne to expand into cities like Metropolis anyway. I even think Bruce Wayne may not be
active as Batman -- he's retired, essentially
I never knew how far or close they were in the comics, even if I read them. I can't really recall any comics that I've read that deals with that issue, but I don't read many team books. Mostly just Batman (for DC).

If I remember the map DC published in the 90's Gotham is in the Southeast of Jersey and Metropolis is in the Northern part of Dalaware.
Pretty much. It is easier to introduce characters that are well known to the average person than introduce five characters that most people have never heard of.
Everyone knows Batman's origin, they know Superman and Clark Kent, they get the general concept of Wonder Woman.

I believe Perry knows who he is. I'd imagine anyone standing next to/near Lois when the ship goes down can see who he is pretty clearly. The idea that people at the Planet are basically his cover is a pretty clever one.

Affleck has like a significant shot at easily being the best Batman/Bruce Wayne and maybe the first to truly be amazing as both.
Every shot of his face during the Metropolis parts are amazing, when he's hugging that kid, the rage, the anger, everything that made him become Batman was right there on his face.
Not enough Gadot to judge but there was something sublt about the way she shrugged off getting thrown into that wall, as if to say ok you've done it now mister and I loved it, I hate her costume though but then again I just really like WW in pants so I probably won't be easy to win over there.
Also since they're going with a younger Lex Luthor I absolutely dig his presence in this trailer.
Everything looks like it's going to be a worst a fun holy fuck ride and at best an actually great movie.

I doubt it. It was obvious that Lois was the only one who knew who Clark really is at the end of MoS.

If only this didn't need to be a mutually exclusive approach. Marvel doesn't need to always be so comedy oriented and DC doesn't need to always be so gritty.
That's probably why DC is aiming for Flash to be a comedy movie?

Eh...trailer didn't really do anything for me. I just can't buy the idea of Batman getting in a fight with Superman and not getting his ass handed to him within seconds.
