All these talks about Robins, I think I prefer if they skipped them and go straight to Terry McGinnis.

That said, am I the only one hated the idea Batman retires early? I feel like alot of these DCU setup seems further complicate things.

it's meant to be slightly based off of DKR where all of the superheroes except for Supes are forced into retirement by the US gov. He comes out of retirement, and so the president sends Supes to hunt him down and stop him, resulting in a big battle.

People comparing Damien to Tim tier wtf.

Damien gave Batman a personality for first time in years. He was best Robin with best Batman (dick). Dude is elitist for legit reasons he son of the goddamn batman and his grandfather is Ras Al fucking Ghul. Of course he going to laugh at rest of bat family.

yup

tbf i'm basing my assessment off of the DCAU movies and the beginning of Nu52 B&R where Damien keeps killing ppl while still being uppity about it

His parents are dead man.

Robin's dead.

His expensive building got destroyed.

Dozens of his employees died.

Wayne manor in ruin.

Darkness etc.

Question about Wayne Manor being burned. Is this explained anywhere, or is it juat linked to Bruce's retirement as Batman?

Wow, best robin. Yea, he's the spoiled little kid who needs attention and has daddy issues.

Tim is probably the most accomplished robin besides Dick. He's a genius, brilliant detective, great leader, excellent planner. Ras Al Ghul himself acknowledged Tim by calling him "Detective."

Damien laughs at the rest of the Bat Family by desperately wants to be like them.

They need to show off the regular batsuit more, I've grown tired of seeing the mecha-suit.

I really, really like Eisenberg's take on Luthor, and I've grown up with the Clancy Brown DCAU one. Loving the part where Superman is bowing to him.

I really can't believe people doubted this movie. What a bunch of hipsters.

There's going to be a point where most people like Man of Steel too, but probably won't be until several years later.

What's the deal with the MoS hate? Haven't seen it. Legit bad movie, or just not living up to fan expectations?

Had some poor dialogue in places that attempted to be deeper than it actually was, and had some cringe inducing scenes. Other than that it was a great movie. So pretty much the latter.

It's completely conceivable that in the DCEU (or DCCU or DCMU, whatever the hell you wanna call it), the Joker knows the identity of Batman.

We know the Joker has killed Robin. In some interpretations, including the most recent Arkham Knight game, we know that Joker tortured Robin enough to make him confess Batman's secret identity (although he "kills" Robin just before he tells him).

We also know that the Joker typically does not want Batman dead, or even want his secret identity to be publicly known. He wants Batman to keep being Batman, and keeping chasing him around (otherwise what's the point of being the Joker?).

It's completely reasonable to think this version of the Joker knows who Batman really is, but chooses to keep that secret to himself. This even sets up what could be a major plot point for Suicide Squad: Amanda Waller needs the Joker to tell her who Batman really is.

Spoiler tags, dude. Spoiler tags!

Ugh, did I just read Arkham Knight spoilers on this page.

I will say this. The story of Arkham Knight carries a great many bullets. Whilst one hit you, you dodged a great many more significant spoilers. Trust me on that. Fupertino did fuck up, and I hope he tags his post soon.

That face Wonder Woman makes before the explosion was hilarious.

So damn derpy.

It's a mediocre movie that has good action scenes and visuals but a lousy script. It's about on par with the middle of the road Marvel movies (Thor, Cap 1 etc).

What's overblown about MoS is the final battle scene where Metropolis gets partially destroyed and when people use it as a way to explain why the movie is bad.

Affleck needs a fucking nap.

During the Lois Lane bit, he actually sighs and looks like he's about to fall asleep.

He's had a lot of personal issues outside of work come up lately and I imagine it hasn't been a cakewalk.

Would not surprise me in the slightest if that was affecting him adversely.

Is it at all possible that the "You let your family die!" thing is just hate mail received from anti-superman crazies, rather than Joker or Red Hood, and the "family" they are referring to his the people in the Wayne Building who died in Man of Steel? I just wonder if people are reading waaaay too much into it.

It blow my mind that people are thinking it's anything other than this. This is immediately the connection I made when I watched the trailer. It's a news article about the destruction of Wayne Tower and the death of Wayne Enterprise employees, and it's addressed to Bruce Wayne himself. The "family" is referring to his employees.

Leave it to comic book fans to needlessly convolute things, haha.

You fucking kidding me?

More like "unf, sigh, is that all you got?"

Edit: oh you mean the "RRRRR" shot before the bracelets. It's not that bad, though.

Oh I feel for the guy and I'm a fan, I just can tell he's fucking exhausted.

Still hilarious, though, that he can come out with a story, and a funny story, and then later bring it back.

The 'older Batman' thing is the one part of this movie that I'm a bit dubious about.

It feels a bit like them wanting to have their cake and eat it too, setting up a cinematic universe whilst also getting to use aspects of DKR. Old Batman coming out of retirement seems a weird thing to start a franchise with, when they're going to want to get a decade+ worth of films out of this stuff.

I believe this interpretation, the "you let your family die" strikes Wayne deep in many levels- the death of his parents, Robin, those financial workers, whoever the fuck else died to make this man sad etc.

I eagerly await the Batman coming out of retirement sequence in the film.

Not really liking Wonder Woman right now, nor Lex Luther.

Luthor in particular comes off as some borderline eccentric weirdo.

Everything else looks phenomenal, especially Batfleck; can't wait for that solo film.

Decent movie with poor writing and odd scene choices but incredible action sequences.

But yeah, people overblow the last act because they're offended that there's civilian casualties in a battle of gods in a densely populated city.

Ok, so I kind of love Eisenbergs Luthor <_<
But I don't really like the comics or any of the movie Luthors. For me Luthor will always be Smallvilles Luthor, but his style of character wouldn't work on the big screen in my opinion. I like this eccentric, modern internet millionaire style thing they're doing with him. Also, I'm on #teamwig which makes his hair easier to swallow. :P

As a Wonder Woman fan for over a decade i was highly skeptical about Gal Gadot and the few images that has been released prior to this trailer. Gotta say, think she looked amazing, confident and strong as Wonder woman should in this trailer.

Lex on the other hand...

It was never that, I don't think. It was that the movie decided to be disaster porn in a way that didn't really respect the characters. And the following scenes made that clear. No scenes of Superman outrage. No scenes of the casualties caused, or the effect the battle had on the city. Just a clever one-liner to end the film that clashes tonally with the previous events.

It was a "I don't think this is what winning looks like" moment in a film that didn't really acknowledge the destruction. It looks like BvS is acknowledging that destruction.
